Xu Xin rode the Silver King to the altar at the fastest speed.
The altar had not changed at all since he left yesterday. The only difference was that the blood-stained pillar without a statue no longer emitted heat.
Xu Xin looked at the altar floor. There was nothing unusual about the ground; it was still the same uneven surface weathered by the wind and sun. But Xu Xin was still certain that the blood-marked troll had emerged from here.
There are no traces of its origin around. If it didn't come out from the altar, could it have fallen from the sky?
In order to avoid any further mishaps, Xu Xin came to the altar, opened the small drawer where the altar knife was placed, and put the altar knife in first.
The small drawer suddenly retracted by itself, and at the same time the entire altar began to emit a cold aura.
It lasted for about ten seconds, and the cold air faded away. When Xu Xin opened it again, a brand new and shiny altar knife appeared in the drawer.
Xu Xin took out the knife and found that there was no trace of its use yesterday.
"Is this why I have to put it back every time?" Xu Xin said to himself.
Checking the map, Xu Xin discovered that the tigers that were wandering around the altar yesterday had disappeared, and the area around the altar was actually full of relatively weak beasts.
Perhaps they were scared away by the blood-marked troll just now, and the other little beasts were probably like the Silver King, not daring to move, so they did not run away.
"That's perfect. We spent a lot of effort avoiding these tigers during our hunt yesterday."
While these tigers have not returned yet, Xu Xin plans to go to the place where the trolls disappeared first, and then go hunting wild cats.
He looked at the messy new road that the blood-marked troll had opened up. The road was littered with broken poplar trees, some of which had been broken by the troll's feet, and some of which had been smashed away by its clubs.
He was really curious about where the blood-veined troll had gone and why it hadn't returned to the altar.
On the map, the red dots around this newly opened road are denser. In addition to the beasts that were originally here, there should be some nearby beasts that came here out of curiosity.
Xu Xin was holding his rabbit-ear crossbow and riding a wolf along the road.
As he expected, there were many corpses and seriously injured small wild animals on the road created by the blood-veined troll. Most of them were killed or hit by fallen trees, and there were even many birds.
In just a few minutes, Xu Xin picked up a lot of materials. The only drawback was that there were no points, but being able to pick up materials for free was already good enough.
After arriving at the hill where the blood-veined troll disappeared, Xu Xin was a little confused looking at the jungle that seemed normal.
At this time, he had already walked out of the hilly resource area, and the road made up of crooked trees ended here. There was only a very ordinary jungle in front, and there was not even a cave around.
"What's going on? That blood-marked troll just disappeared after arriving here?"
"Ying!" Coco jumped off the wolf's back and ran forward.
It seems that Coco must have discovered something.
"Silver King, follow Coco."
Coco ran around the edge of the hill for a long time, and finally stopped at an open space outside the hill. She stood up and looked around in a daze.
"Is this the place Coco?"
"Hmm?" Coco tilted her head, confused.
Xu Xin surveyed his surroundings. The hilly terrain here sloped up and down like a cliff, the entire hill like a thick wall, isolating the hilly resource area from the outside world.
"Huh?" Xu Xin discovered that the traces naturally formed on the mountain wall by wind and sun seemed to form a pattern, and this pattern looked very familiar.
Xu Xin tilted his head left and right, looking at it from different angles. For a moment, the pattern coincided with the impression in his mind.
"This... this pattern is the one on the chest of the blood-marked troll!"
Xu Xin took a sudden step back.
Why are there patterns similar to those on the troll's body carved on the mountain where the Blood-Marked Troll disappeared?
Did the troll merge into the mountain? Or was the mountain itself the blood-marked troll?
Could it be that all the hills around here are made up of these monsters?
Xu Xin had always been a little puzzled as to why a circle of hills suddenly appeared in this relatively flat area.
He got goose bumps when he thought about how he had climbed up the hill more than once.
"No, it shouldn't be. Perhaps it's just a mark left here by the Blood Veined Trolls. Maybe it's a teleportation device that teleported the Blood Veined Troll away."
This statement was more convincing, and Xu Xin gradually calmed down. However, his previous thoughts had planted a seed in his heart, making him look at these hills with a different mentality.
It’s better to stay away from it.
Xu Xin lifted Coco onto the wolf's back, rode on the Silver King, and moved away from the cliff with strange totems carved on it.
Let's gather the offerings first. This blood-marked troll is still too far away for him now.
With the crossbow in his hand, which had a faster arrow speed and greater power, it didn't take long for Xu Xin to have more cat claw offerings in his hand to exceed double digits, enough to dye all the patterns on the stone pillar of the cat statue red.
The Koi fish Xu Xin had consumed that morning had clearly shown its effectiveness. Yesterday, despite hunting so many small beasts, he hadn't yielded a single blue-grade material. But today, with just a few wild cats, he had already yielded a blue-grade wild cat pelt.
"It's time to go hunting mutant wildcats."
