Chapter 24 Big Gourd Village

Song Jinxiu protected the pastries in her hands in the car.

The uncle's car was quite stable. Apart from the shaking road conditions and the steepness of the mountain road, everything was fine.

It was not until dawn and the sun was getting brighter that they arrived at the entrance of Dahulu Village.

After reaching the village entrance, the road becomes much easier to walk on, and you just walk down along the dirt road.

Song Jinxiu could see that the village was in the mountains.

Just now I was going up the mountain, and now I am going down the mountain. I have climbed over a mountain!

As we entered the village, we gradually saw people coming to live there. Smoke from cooking fires rose up from the sky, and the sounds of children playing could be heard.

It feels like a paradise!

The children chased and played with each other, looking at the newcomers with curiosity.

"I'll take you here. If you want to ask for information about someone, just go find the village chief." The uncle parked the ox cart on the side of the road and said to Song Jinxiu.

"Uncle, aren't you going in?" Song Jinxiu asked.

"No, I don't have any gifts prepared." The uncle shook his head.

"Oh!" Song Jinxiu walked towards the village carrying her gift.

Then he remembered something and turned around to ask, "Uncle, you won't leave me here alone, will you?"

"Don't worry, I promised to take care of your return trip. I'll wait for you here." The uncle waved his hand to signal Song Jinxiu to go without worry.

Walking into the big gourd, Song Jinxiu had a wonderful feeling, as if this was where she belonged, which made her feel excited.

Speaking of the big gourd, it is also a creature that people love and hate. Those who are a little older know that they were the only ones that could fight against the Japanese in the past.

It looked satisfying, but the people around them suffered. Moreover, a village that could stand up to the Japanese was already an anomaly.

Everyone respects him, but keeps their distance.

"Children, who knows where the village chief's house is?" Song Jinxiu asked a group of children who were playing.

They looked at each other, and no one spoke.

"Who told me I have candy?" Song Jinxiu took out a handful of fruit candies from the bag.

"I, I'll take you there!" A little boy raised his hand.

"Okay, here's your reward." Song Jinxiu picked up a candy and gave it to him as a reward. The little friend looked at him enviously with the candy in his hand.

Song Jinxiu then gave each of them a candy, "This is for you, sister."

Then Song Jinxiu followed the little boy to find the village chief.

The little boy took the two candies and played with them without eating them.

Transfer it from your left hand to your right hand, then pretend to fly back and forth.

The little boy walked to a house and shouted loudly: "Grandpa, someone is looking for you."

Then he turned and left, leaving Song Jinxiu standing there awkwardly.

"Who is it?" A man's voice came from the house.

The door to the courtyard was half open, and Song Jinxiu was too embarrassed to go in, so she had to say at the door. "Hello, is the village chief home?"

With a creak, the gate opened and a strong old man walked out.

He should be about 1.8 meters tall, which makes him stand out in the south where people are generally short.

Song Jinxiu thought to herself, the people in the village look a bit fierce!

"Are you looking for me? Come in!" the old man said and walked in.

Song Jinxiu had no choice but to follow. The feelings between people were really strange. This person obviously looked so fierce.

But my fear of him didn't seem to be that kind of fear, it seemed more like awe.

It’s a complicated feeling that I can’t describe!

"Please sit down." The old man sat down at the table in the yard and nodded to Song Jinxiu to sit down as well. "What's going on?"

"Thank you." Song Jinxiu put the gift on the table and said after swallowing.

"Well, it's like this. I'd like to ask if there's a person named Liu Laogen in the village? That might be my grandmother's brother.

My grandmother said that her family was poor when she was a child, so her uncle had to give her away as a child bride.

Who knew that the owner of the house later left her behind while fleeing, and she was finally picked up by my grandfather.

My grandmother's dying wish was to find her brother.

My father passed away some time ago, so I thought of my grandmother's wish and wanted to come here to find a relative."

After listening to the story, the old man thought quietly for a while.

"Well, I know it's a bit ridiculous to rely on just a name. It doesn't matter if this person doesn't exist. I'll look somewhere else..."

I don't know why, but I always feel that this old man has the ability to see through people's hearts, and I always feel uneasy when lying in front of him.

"Now that you mention it, I actually thought of someone. But I'm not sure.

I will ask other old fellows in the village later, and you can come again tomorrow. "The old man said

"Are you sure you thought of someone? Don't force yourself. If not, I can look somewhere else." Song Jinxiu asked.

"Are you from Dahulu Village? Liu Laogen? Did you give your sister away?" He asked, and Song Jinxiu nodded.

"That's fine, come back tomorrow." The old man nodded, indicating that everything matched.

"Okay, then I'll go back first and come back tomorrow." Song Jinxiu walked out in confusion.

Things shouldn't be like this. Shouldn't you find out that there is no such person and then just leave?

Is this person really real? Isn't this just something I made up?

The original plan was that if we couldn't find anyone, we could use the excuse that this place has many talented people and beautiful scenery to settle down.

This, this, this, how come there is such a person?

Song Jinxiu was still a little confused until she walked to the uncle's ox cart.

"What's wrong, my dear girl? Didn't you find the person? It's normal that you can't find the person. It would be strange if you could find him all of a sudden in such a vast crowd of people." The uncle looked at Song Jinxiu's lonely face and comforted her.
