Song Jinxiu gave the family's twenty acres of land to the family's farmhands.
There were only 15 farmhands. Each had one mu of land, and Aunt Yang got one mu. Each person also received 50 kilograms of coarse grain, but the rest had to be managed on their own.
The remaining four acres of land were divided among four farmhands with young children! As for this house, it must have been left to Aunt Yang!
After all, I'm closer to Aunt Yang here.
"Miss, why are you leaving in such a hurry?" Aunt Yang said as she helped Song Jinxiu pack her things.
"To avoid unnecessary trouble. Let Erzhuang teach me how to drive a donkey cart tomorrow. From now on, the cow in our family will be left to you!" Song Jinxiu said.
Most of the things are in the space, only the newly harvested food and some of my own things.
It was some time ago that Song Jinxiu had a bullock cart pull some unused things to a house in the town, and then she sold them.
One acre of land only produces more than 120 kilograms of wheat, and the most common crop is sweet potatoes, along with some other coarse grains.
The twenty or so pieces of rosewood her father prepared for her were already in the space.
The only pity is that there are only a few shelves prepared for cooked food, and I can’t find an excuse to ask Aunt Yang to help cook more.
The most important thing is that there is no way to make the food disappear without anyone noticing.
"Just keep the little donkey. This ox pulls the cart steadily." Aunt Yang said.
"It's not convenient for me to raise cattle in the county, so I'd rather raise a donkey." Actually, there wasn't much to pack. The two of them just chatted while picking at their clothes.
The bed in Song Jinxiu's room has been dismantled. It was made of pear wood and she was reluctant to throw it away.
Aunt Yang kept muttering to herself for a long time, and only let Song Jinxiu go when she remembered that she had to get up early tomorrow!
Song Jinxiu looked carefully at the place where she had lived for most of the month.
The dining table, the beams, the desk, the bed, the cellar, the woodshed—Song Jinxiu checked every place to make sure nothing was missed.
It is said that a cunning rabbit has three burrows. Her father knew very well that one should not put all his eggs in one basket, so he hid the family's money everywhere. Fortunately, he told Song Jinxiu every place.
As for what was not said, Song Jinxiu had no choice.
Sitting in the rocking chair and looking back on what happened during this period, it feels like a dream.
Apart from her reluctance to leave Aunt Yang, Song Jinxiu was mostly excited about leaving, but her excitement was mixed with confusion about the future and fear of the unknown road ahead.
She didn't have any powerful martial arts, and the useless space wouldn't even allow her to enter.
She thought of the boxes of wooden warehouses in the space. They were useless. They could be used to make weapons for others, but she couldn't open them herself.
However, it would be nice to release a few of those black things to scare people at critical moments.
The worst outcome is mutual destruction, you know this.
"Alas, others who travel through time and space are all thinking about how to eat and drink delicious food, but I have to think about dying together with others. But... forget it, I won't be able to win easily."
That's not right. Although I can't enter the space, maybe others can! Just like the chicken that has lost its breath.
However, this can't be tested, so let's just consider it as a guarantee for now. I hope there will never be an opportunity to test it.
Song Jinxiu thought she would not be able to sleep, but after rocking for a while she finally fell asleep.
I was awakened by the noisy sounds around me. It turned out that it was almost dawn.
Song Jinxiu opened the door and saw Aunt Yang and her two children, mother and son, standing at the door.
Da Zhuang and Er Zhuang led several drivers to move things. This was instructed yesterday. They found three ox carts to help move the things, so they could move them in one trip.
Aunt Yang went to help Song Jinxiu make breakfast. This was the last breakfast she made for the young lady.
Aunt Yang secretly wiped away her tears, feeling as if she were marrying off her own daughter. The little girl she had watched grow up was about to leave.
Aunt Yang baked a lot of fried cakes, which were crispy even when cold, and the young lady loved them very much.
And it won't go bad even after a few days.
The food box was filled with many delicious snacks to satisfy Song Jinxiu's cravings along the way.
The other white flour buns and fried cakes were wrapped in oil paper, as a precaution, as the young lady might not be used to eating them at first but would not go hungry.
As for the others, Aunt Yang steamed a pot of steamed buns made of two-grain flour, so they could all eat a few after they were done.
A group of people quietly set off for the town before dawn.
The door is locked and I will never come back again.
Song Jinxiu sat on the cart and Erzhuang taught her how to drive the donkey cart.
Da Zhuang was looking at things in front.
"Miss, why are you learning this? If you want to go out, just call a taxi. This is so dangerous!" Aunt Yang said worriedly behind her.
"It's okay, Aunt Yang, I'll just learn it casually." Song Jinxiu grabbed the rope nervously and excitedly.
"This donkey is very gentle and lazy," said Er Zhuang.
"Hold this rope, just relax, and give it a whack every now and then and it will go away."
Song Jinxiu held a rope in one hand and a whip in the other. She felt like a chivalrous woman.
Swish, swish, swish, a whip hit the donkey's butt.
"Miss, you can use a little more strength. This donkey is very strong." Er Zhuang was so tired that he wanted to sweat when he saw her little strength.
"Oh oh!" Then he pulled it again, and sure enough, he ran a little faster than before.
"That's it, let's do this! You just need to practice more! If it doesn't behave, just beat it." Er Zhuang said. That should be it!
Anyway, if he just whips it, it will go away.
"What about turning? How do we turn?" Song Jinxiu saw that the road ahead was turning right.
"Pull the rope on the right." Er Zhuang pulled it to demonstrate to her.
In fact, if there is no sharp turn or multiple roads, animals will find their own way and will not stupidly bump into the wall.
