Shang Lin suddenly opened his eyes. He heard the sound of something falling into the water. Thanks to his enhanced perception, he was even able to pinpoint the exact location.
Shang Lin grabbed his clothes and put them on. He quietly opened the door. The corridor was lit by warm lights, which did not affect the view at all. However, for some reason, the light made his hair stand on end.
With a flick of his wrist, Shang Lin produced a talisman in his hand. As soon as the talisman appeared, it emitted a faint glow, and the runes on it shimmered and flickered, as if something might fly out at any moment.
Shang Lin looked at both sides of the corridor again. Sure enough, it was an evil spirit from the sea. It was different from the ones on land and full of mystery! He wondered if Situ Pojun had sensed it.
Just as Shang Lin was about to call Chi Xie out to go out and take a look, the door to the next guest room opened, and Situ Pojun stepped out. However, he made no sound at all, which was even more eerie than the eeriness in the corridor.
However, as soon as Situ Pojun saw Shang Lin, he immediately sent him a telepathic message, "Sect Leader Shang, why aren't you resting so late? Where are you planning to go?"
Seeing Situ Pojun's teasing expression, Shang Lin replied helplessly, "Didn't you come out out of curiosity just like me?"
Situ Pojun pointed to the end of the corridor and continued to transmit his voice to Shang Lin, "Why don't we go out and take a look?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Situ Pojun took the lead and left, with Shang Lin hurriedly following behind.
Compared to Situ Pojun's silent, ghost-like movements, Shang Lin could only try his best to make his steps lighter, and he took each step extremely carefully, for fear of touching something hidden in the shadows.
This corridor was not as empty as it looked. Situ Pojun, with his identity as a worker in the underworld, could ignore these evil spirits, but I could not.
Situ Pojun led Shang Lin to the stern of the ship, where it was so dark that ordinary humans could see nothing at all, but that did not affect their vision. In the black seawater, it seemed as if countless eyes were watching their every move.
But Shang Lin clearly saw that the greasy man who had provoked him at dusk was floating on the sea, and his body had been gnawed by something. Except for his face, which was still recognizable, the rest of his body was tattered.
Shang Lin glanced at Situ Pojun subconsciously, and said using telepathy, "Was this the person who just fell into the sea? But in such a short time, he's been gnawed like this?"
Despite the chilling situation, Situ Pojun remained calm and replied using telepathy, "There's something in the sea, didn't you feel it? A faint, eerie aura."
The talisman in Shang Lin's hand shimmered with light, much stronger than when he left, bringing a ray of light to the darkness. But he seemed oblivious, staring blankly at the sea.
To be fair, Shang Lin is like a god in many ways, but he is not very good at the sea, because the sea in the cultivation world is basically a forbidden zone, and no one is willing to set foot there unless absolutely necessary.
Shang Lin was no exception, so he watched for a while before sending a telepathic message to Situ Pojun, "Are there man-eating sea creatures down there?"
Situ Pojun looked at Shang Lin with some surprise, then pointed to the talisman in his hand and said directly, "Your talisman is like this, yet you can speak the language of marine creatures?!" Are you kidding me?
