Shang Lin woke up with a start. When he woke up, he looked almost exactly like the girl in his dream, except that there was blood at the corner of his mouth and tears in his eyes.
Looking down at the short sword in his hand, Shang Lin subconsciously tossed it to She Jinxing before taking out a tissue to wipe the sweat from his forehead, muttering, "This damn thing."
Although She Jinxing was driving, he still reacted quickly and caught the short sword with one hand, then asked Shang Lin, "What's wrong, Sect Master?"
Shang Lin said truthfully, "I've been dragged into a dream by this thing again. I don't know if it's because my constitution is too weak or they are too strong. They keep doing this to me."
Hu Tangdi was asleep in the back seat when he heard Shang Lin's voice and immediately sat up to ask, "Is the sect leader injured?"
Shang Lin picked up another bottle of water, opened it, took a sip, and replied, "Although I wasn't injured, I felt the pain firsthand."
After saying that, he subconsciously touched the area of his shoulder blade, as if there was still a lingering pain there. So much so that the Sect Master, who was usually able to maintain his composure, said through gritted teeth, "I'll refine the Long Sword when I get home."
She Jinxing and Hu Tangdi looked at each other in the rearview mirror. Changfeng had broken the sect leader's taboo. This guy was really something, able to make their usually unmoved sect leader angry. It was clear that the sect leader was quite angry in the dream.
Although She Jinxing and Hu Tangdi were both very curious about what kind of dream their sect leader had, they decided to avoid discussing it since the dream had angered him so much, lest they be caught in the crossfire.
Hu Tangdi immediately handed Shang Lin an apple, "Sect Leader, don't drink mineral water, it's too cold. Have an apple, or Xing Tian will sell them all. This is an apple produced in our Dragon Spirit Tower, imbued with spiritual energy."
Shang Lin wanted to say, "In the Dragon Spirit Tower's herb garden, apart from the medicinal herbs which possess spiritual energy, no other plants can be contaminated with it in the slightest. However, it is true that it is purely green and pollution-free."
But he said, "Xing Tian isn't stupid. He's selling apples from the Dragon Spirit Tower at ridiculously high prices, isn't he?"
Hu Tangdi immediately laughed and said, "It's alright, after all, things are valued for their scarcity. We have purchase limits and quantity restrictions, and the same goes for other fruits produced in the Dragon Spirit Tower."
Seeing that Shang Lin's emotions had quickly calmed down, She Jinxing handed the short sword to Hu Tangdi and then gripped the steering wheel with both hands.
Hu Tangdi reached out and took the short sword, then threw the culprit who had angered the sect leader under the chair, and gave him a disdainful kick, though not hard.
After all, they'll be disciples of their sect from now on. The sect leader is angry now, but he'll probably spoil them just like he spoiled Ah Chou and Lü Yao in the future. The Divine Lord said the sect leader has a "benevolent father" quality, and that's quite apt!
Shang Lin seemed oblivious to Hu Tangdi's actions, glanced out the car window, and asked, "How much longer until we get home?"
She Jinxing glanced at the navigation, "It'll be there in about thirty more minutes."
"I wonder where Old Man Chai is?" she said, taking out her phone to send a message to Red Scorpion.
Red Scorpion called directly, "We're all working at the martial arts gym, either filming short videos or doing live streams, none of us have gone home."
Why does it sound like I, the sect leader, am just loafing around and not doing my job? Shang Lin quickly snapped out of his daze and hurriedly said, "Don't let Old Man Chai get tired."
"Yes, we were all watching." Red Scorpion then realized, "You're back?"
Shang Lin leaned back lazily in his chair and replied, "Yeah, it's already on its way."
It's definitely better to use a teleportation talisman. We'll get there in no time. Being stuck in the car for several hours is really tiring. It would be better if the car had more space. When Xing Tian goes to buy a car again, I'll tell him to buy one with more space.
Red Scorpion asked again, "Is the matter resolved?"
"Yes, then let's go straight home."
"Okay, be careful on the road."
Shang Lin put away his phone, looked at the dark sky outside the car window, and couldn't help but sigh, "I didn't expect Little Scorpion to care about people like this. It's really not easy."
Hu Tangdi couldn't help but silently complain, "Is that what he calls caring? He's just finally starting to get his brains and know what's important. We bought him such an expensive suit, and he still can't get a single word of concern from him? Didn't you see how jealous Xing Tian was when he saw that suit? Even though he has the financial power in the sect, and the sect leader said he can buy whatever he wants within reasonable limits, can what you buy yourself be the same as what the sect leader buys for you?"
However, since Red Scorpion is working so diligently, he's probably wearing that suit and starting to film videos, right? After all, the videos have already evolved from the daily life style of an ancient general to the style of a modern domineering CEO.
I wonder what kind of style they'll be filming without me as the female lead—brotherhood, father-son relationship, or even a higher level of patriotism?
Hu Tangdi took out his phone to check out the episode out of curiosity, only to find that only one episode had been updated, and it was one they had already filmed. Was the post-production work that slow?
Okay, they can forgo their annual leave, but the humans they hire do need to take it, so relying solely on Xing Tian to handle the post-production work is simply not enough.
Xing Tian, in particular, is now more enthusiastic about live streaming, since it's a quick way to make money.
Thirty minutes passed quickly, and the car came to a smooth stop downstairs at Shang Lin's rented apartment. He immediately got out of the car and moved around, feeling stiff all over, as if he were a puppet on strings.
Well, the main problem was that he didn't sleep well on the way, which made him even more tired. After moving around, Shang Lin immediately reached out to Hu Tangdi, "Give me the short sword."
Hu Tangdi moved around a bit when she got out of the car. Although she hadn't been dreaming, she was still a little uncomfortable being cooped up in the car for several hours, and driving and riding in a car felt different.
However, when he heard the sect leader mention the short sword, Hu Tangdi felt like a child who had done something wrong and was suddenly caught by his parents. He immediately opened the car door, quickly took out the short sword, and handed it to Shang Lin.
Shang Lin didn't feel anything. As long as the sword was there, he didn't care where it was. So he took the short sword and went upstairs first. Hu Tangdi hurriedly followed. She Jinxing still had to park the car. He couldn't just park at the entrance of the building, could he?
As soon as she got home, Hu Tangdi went back to the Dragon Spirit Tower. The house here was small and there was no place for her to rest. Besides, she also wanted to see how Achou and Changfeng were doing.
The sect leader said he's going to refine the long blade, but who knows how? Will the weapon spirit still exist after it's refined? Anyway, there's a lot to do.
Shang Lin didn't rush into the Dragon Spirit Tower. Instead, after She Jinxing went upstairs, he said to him, "You watch the short sword. I'm going to take a shower."
She Jinxing was a little puzzled, "Isn't the weapon spirit inside the tower? How can it merge with the sword body outside the tower?"
