On the ninth day of the lunar month, Shang Lin picked up the notebook on the ground, tore off a few pages, and started folding paper cranes. After finishing, he used a red pen from his pencil case to draw eyes on the paper cranes.
The paper cranes blinked immediately after the drawing was finished, as if they had come to life. Shang Lin casually put them into his pocket and went back to the classroom. By this time, the students had gradually arrived.
Some students who came in through the back door of the classroom didn't see Shang Lin's situation in the front row, but the students who came in through the front door could see it clearly, and everyone looked confused.
Shang Lin's deskmate was a boy about the same height as him named Yuan Yuan. As soon as he saw him, he asked, "What's going on? Where are your things?"
Shang Lin smiled slightly, "They're all at the garbage dump."
Yuan Yuan paused, "What's going on? Did you throw it yourself because of too much academic pressure?" Otherwise, how could you be laughing? You should be puffing up in anger, right?
Shang Lin suddenly took out a paper crane and said with a smile, "Want to see a magic trick?"
Yuan Yuan felt that his thought process couldn't keep up with Shang Lin's at all, and since they had only known each other for a few days and didn't know each other well, he casually said, "Class is about to start."
"Right, looks like we need to hurry."
Shang Lin quickly took out a paper crane, blew on it in a very professional manner, and then saw the paper crane fly backward, looking wobbly, but its speed was not slow at all.
Yuan Yuan's eyes widened immediately. "You really know how?!"
Shang Lin smiled slightly again, "It's nothing."
The paper crane quickly landed on the desks of the three boys behind him. Shang Lin immediately looked up. He didn't know the names of the three boys, or even if they were classmates.
After all, during this short period of time since the start of the school year, he was busy adapting to the teaching methods of high school teachers, taking exams, and dealing with some things at home... He didn't deliberately try to recognize people.
However, now that the paper crane had found them, they needed to discuss compensation. So Shang Lin immediately went over to one of the boys and said, "You threw my backpack and books into the trash can. How are you going to compensate me? Oh, and the school chairs too. Damaging school property also requires compensation, but that's compensation to the school. Whose chair should I sit in this afternoon?"
The paper crane attracted everyone's attention. Fan Mingyu came back to his senses and heard Shang Lin's words. He immediately jumped up and said, "Who are you? Stop talking nonsense."
Shang Lin knew they wouldn't readily admit it, so he laughed sarcastically, "Are you even men? How can you be so cowardly? I'll give you a day to consider the compensation, but as for the chair, I need it for my class this afternoon."
"You and him..."
Fan Mingyu was so angry that he was about to hit Shang Lin, but before he could even swing his hand or finish his sentence, Shang Lin grabbed his collar and pinned him against the wall at the back of the classroom.
The speed was so fast that no one could react. When they stopped moving, the students around them all stood up, some moving away and others moving forward.
Shang Lin grabbed Fan Mingyu by the throat and said coldly, "I advise you not to make any rash moves, or I will crush his throat."
In fact, Shang Lin is an extremely lazy person in many ways, especially when it comes to fighting. He doesn't want to use any extra moves if he can win with one strike.
Fu Xinyu and Zhou Heng, who were about to step forward to help, both stopped in their tracks. In Shang Lin's eyes, they saw ruthlessness. Although he was a head shorter than them, his aura was overwhelming.
Seeing that the two students did not rush forward recklessly, Shang Lin looked at Fan Mingyu and said, "I don't even know your names, how did I bother you? I really want to know where your malice towards me comes from? Why don't you tell us, so that the other students can hear it too."
Fan Mingyu was about to speak when he found himself unable to utter a word. Shang Lin immediately loosened his grip, but then the class bell rang. He regretfully let go, patted the other man's shoulder, and smiled, "Thank you for the seat."
Without any hesitation, Shang Lin took Fan Mingyu's chair and then faced the math teacher who had just entered. He casually put the chair down, moved it back to his own desk, and sat down, looking like a well-behaved student listening to the teacher's lecture.
At the back of the classroom, Fan Mingyu was coughing and breathing heavily, which frightened Zhou Heng and Fu Xinyu. Zhou Heng didn't care whether class was going on or whether the teacher was coming, and said directly to Fan Mingyu, "I'll take you to the hospital."
Fan Mingyu glared at Shang Lin before saying, "Okay."
Fu Xinyu wanted to follow, but the teacher stopped him, "What's going on with you? Why are you walking out of class?"
Even when facing his teacher, Zhou Heng looked displeased. "Fan Mingyu was pinched badly by Shang Lin, I need to take him to the hospital."
The teacher immediately looked at Shang Lin, "What happened?"
Shang Lin said innocently, "They threw my backpack and chair into the trash can. I just borrowed a chair from Fan Mingyu temporarily. How did it become that I broke it? They're just making up some excuse for skipping class."
The math teacher frowned slightly. He couldn't figure out the truth of the matter in a short time, but seeing that Shang Lin's desk was so clean that there wasn't even a piece of paper, Fan Mingyu seemed to be uncomfortable as well. He could only say, "Let's start class first. If there's anything, go to your homeroom teacher."
Shang Lin readily agreed, "Okay."
Zhou Heng uncooperatively led Fan Mingyu away, and Fu Xinyu whispered, "I'll stay and keep an eye on that kid."
Zhou Heng nodded, "Okay."
The math teacher watched as two students ignored him and walked out of the back door of the classroom. He suddenly felt that each new class of students was more difficult to manage than the last. He then turned to Shang Lin and asked, "How did you listen to the lesson if you didn't do anything?"
Shang Lin confidently pointed to his head, "I can take notes quickly, I'll organize them when I get back."
The math teacher was slightly surprised. "Can you rely on shorthand from now until school ends at 10 p.m.?"
Shang Lin nodded, "Okay."
This surprised not only the math teacher, but the whole class. However, the surprises varied. Some were simply surprised, some were envious, some were jealous, and some even hated.
But Shang Lin didn't care about any of that. He was smart, so naturally he was good at studying. How could someone who was good at studying plagiarize? That would be a waste of time. In this way, the rumors about him plagiarizing were dispelled.
In fact, Shang Lin wanted to say, "I have a photographic memory." But in the human world, such people seem extremely rare, and perhaps no one would believe it.
Even though Shang Lin spoke modestly, the math teacher was still a little skeptical and said, "Shall we give it a try?"
Shang Lin nodded, "Okay."
The math teacher then proceeded with the lesson as normal, only asking Shang Lin questions near the end of get out of class. The questions seemed to follow no pattern, but Shang Lin answered them all correctly.
Everyone was shocked. Even Fu Xinyu's gaze towards Shang Lin changed, becoming less aggressive and more filled with astonishment. Fan Mingyu had really messed up this time, but his family was well-off, so he wouldn't care.
