Bai Chengyun's spiritual power was almost completely depleted. His body was covered in wounds, and even his tail had been severed by lightning. Almost all of his wounds still had residual lightning crackling in them.
Not only that, but his body's interior seemed to have been shattered inch by inch, with flesh and bones seemingly mixed together, turning him into a pile of mud.
If Shang Lin hadn't risked sending him something that could disperse some of the lightning's power, he probably would have been struck by lightning and reduced to ashes by now.
To be honest, Bai Chengyun, who was on the verge of death, was even thinking of giving up and waiting for another bolt of lightning to strike him and end his suffering.
Even though he always thought about his daughter and used her as a way to force himself to keep going, it had little effect. He knew very well that as long as his daughter stayed with Shang Lin, she would be well taken care of, even better than if she stayed with him, her father who couldn't leave the sea.
The only thing still protecting Bai Chengyun is the rune net drawn by Shang Lin. The robes and talismans have long been reduced to ashes by the heavenly lightning, but the light from the rune net has weakened. It is unknown whether it can still disperse the power of the lightning that follows.
Bai Chengyun subconsciously looked at Shang Lin in the distance, wanting to mobilize the last bit of spiritual power in his body to beg the other party to take care of his daughter, and to ask the other party to take in his broken body before he was struck to ashes by the heavenly lightning, as a way of repaying the other party for taking in his daughter.
However, as Bai Chengyun mobilized his spiritual power, a warm current seemed to slowly rise in his body and then flow to all parts of his body, gradually warming his icy body.
That's not all. His almost depleted spiritual energy rapidly recovered, so much so that the minor injuries on his body were healing at a speed visible to the naked eye, and even the blood from his severed tail was flowing out more slowly!
Suddenly, life returned to Bai Chengyun's dark blue eyes, which had been filled with despair and resignation. Was this... the power of that demon core?! Shang Lin really went all out!
How could Bai Chengyun let go of such a chance to survive? He quickly circulated the spiritual energy within his body and absorbed the crackling lightning power still on his body, while repairing his damaged body in order to withstand the upcoming lightning baptism.
The look Bai Chengyun gave Shang Lin startled him. Even with his current cultivation level, he could see the despair in those huge, dark blue eyes because of the distance!
So Shang Lin immediately said to She Jinxing, "Take me there. Bai Chengyun can't hold on any longer and wants to give up!"
In fact, when Bai Chengyun looked over, She Jinxing also realized that he was in a bad situation, but the lightning tribulation shocked him so much that he didn't know what to do! It wasn't until he heard Shang Lin's voice that he immediately came to his senses and subconsciously did as he was told.
But before She Jinxing and Shang Lin had gone very far, they saw Bai Chengyun slowly stand upright on the sea, facing the lightning and thunderbolts overhead, which were comparable to those of his original form.
She Jinxing instinctively froze on the spot, clenching her teeth. If she weren't the original owner of this body, she would probably be terrified. But one thought popped into her head—Bai Chengyun was going to be chopped into ashes and never recover!
Shang Lin was also startled, so much so that when She Jinxing suddenly stopped, he almost fell into the sea, but...
