Chapter 124 Saving the Fairy Tale (17) The Opposite Evil World

"Oh no, oh no, meow!!!"

"I'm going to die, meow!"

Seeing the shattered mirror, Acha, her fur standing on end, leaped out of Su Deng's arms and frantically pried at the shards with all four paws.

When it couldn't reach the target with its claws, it started running around the room like a headless fly, making noises all the while.

"It's all over, meow!"

"Meow—!"

As it darted around, it knocked things to the ground.

Because of it, the once clean and tidy interior became a mess.

Su Deng rubbed her forehead and, just as it was about to leap over her again, swiftly caught it.

"Acha!" Su Deng stroked its chin and head, trying to soothe it by petting it. "Calm down!"

“Meow—”

Acha sobbed, "I shouldn't have let you in, meow... I'm sorry, meow... I'm going to kill you, meow..."

Su Deng rubbed its head. "It was my own decision to come in."

Acha looked up, "You're not blaming me?"

Su Deng's gaze was deep and unfathomable. "You have to tell me what the current situation is before I can decide whether to blame you or not."

Acha: "...Meow..."

The Book of Gods and Demons says that some ghosts and monsters, which are called unclean things, were sealed in a mirror made by the gods.

"As I told you before, many shrine maidens use mirrors, magic balls, crystal balls, and the like for divination."

Divination and sealing are ancient arts.

In this column, the most powerful and terrifying thing is the Mirror of Gods and Demons.

"It is a mirror forged from the bones of gods and demons, and it contains sealed evil gods and demons!"

As if recalling something terrifying, Acha shuddered. "The mirror you got from Snow White is the Mirror of Gods and Demons. It seals away evil spirits!"

Su Deng frowned. "Demons are inherently evil, so why add 'evil god' or 'evil demon' to the mix? What's the difference?"

“Of course there are, meow!” Acha said. “Who says all demons are bad! There are good demons too, meow! Just like there are good and bad gods, meow! Evil gods and demons are born from all the evil desires in the world, and they are much more terrifying than ordinary gods and demons, meow!”

They absorb human evil desires to strengthen themselves.

"As far as I know, a long time ago there was a very powerful evil god and demon who made some kind of pact with the gods and ghosts. But later, one of them betrayed that pact, and a great war between gods and demons broke out. In that war, the gods fell and melted into themselves to forge a mirror of gods and demons, which they desperately used to seal the evil god and demon inside and suppress them in the depths of the Nether Sea!"

The contract between ghosts and gods...

Gods and demons war...

This reminded Su Deng of what Xi Chan had mentioned not long ago about a great battle that took place a thousand years ago.

Liu Sangua had previously said that a true god had fallen in that great battle a thousand years ago.

Could it be the same thing that Acha was talking about?

But that's not right either...

She is currently in a game instance designed by the Divine Court.

Acha exists in this instance world, so what it knows should only be the things in the background setting of this world.

The so-called "divine mirror" and "evil gods and demons" are probably just part of the setting here.

It's a fairy tale-themed dungeon, so even if it's evil, it can't be that evil.

But it's Acha.

It's a cat, a cat that even meows like a cat when it talks...

Su Deng narrowed her eyes, "How do you know so much?"

"I...meow..." Acha's blue eyes flickered as she lowered her head and licked her fur. "I'm just a simple cat who can fly and has read too many books, meow~"

Do you believe it?

Anyway, Su Deng didn't believe it.

However, so far, Acha and she are considered to be tied together.

"We can't get out now, panic and fear won't help."

Su Deng scratched Acha's chin, trying to ease its tension and fear. "Why don't we enter this world first and see if there's another way out?"

She was asking Ah Cha's opinion.

Acha looked up at her and meowed softly a few times, "Okay."

"Don't be afraid, even if we die, we'll die together." Su Deng patted its head, put it on her shoulder, and found the magic mirror that she had thrown away not long ago in the messy room.

No matter what kind of evil gods or demons they are, no matter how bad they are, they will still die.

Death, however, was always something she longed for.

Moreover, if this mirror is truly a magic mirror, causing chaos in the fairy tale world, then to save it, the mirror must be dealt with.

It's dangerous to carry with you, but it's safe.

Su Deng quickly composed herself and left with Acha.

The outer corridor was equally heavily guarded.

They had traveled from the forest to the palace and climbed through the mirrored passage for so long; by now it should be dawn.

But in this world, the sky outside is entirely crimson purple.

A group of guards stood there like statues, and others took turns patrolling.

The trees and flowers in the garden were also swaying gently.

But!

None of these moving things made a sound!

The patrol team consisted of seven or eight people. They walked so quietly that not a single speck of dust was raised and not a sound was made!

The scene was like a movie that had been muted, incredibly eerie.

Depressing and gloomy.

Acha meowed softly, "These might not even be real people..."

A mirror has two sides: one is true, and the other is false.

One side is good, the other side is evil.

“Look over there, meow…” Acha gestured for Su Deng to look ahead.

The patterns carved on the two pillars supporting the palace building should have been symmetrical and aligned, but they were reversed.

This includes the inscriptions on the plaques above the palace gates.

“Trees and flowers should also be reversed, but it’s not very obvious in those things…” Acha whispered in Su Deng’s ear, “That’s the reverse side of a mirror.”
