Chapter 131 Saving the Fairy Tale (24) A Sick New Trick…

"What are you looking at?"

"If you look again, I'll gouge your eyes out!"

"Go and get to work."

"I'm wearing this dress to the ball, so you'd better hand wash it carefully for me..."

The two girls scolded her again and left haughtily.

The father, who was on his way to the market, happened to come in and asked his three daughters what they wanted.

The eldest daughter said, "I want pretty clothes."

The second daughter said, "I want pearls and diamonds."

He then looked at Su Deng, "Child, what do you want?"

Su Deng said, "Dear Dad, please give me the first branch that touched your hat on your way home."

"You've never seen anything like this before!"

"Be a good servant!"

After their father left, his two stepsisters launched into another round of sarcastic remarks.

When their father returned, he brought back something for each of them.

He handed her a twig.

It is a hazel tree.

Su Deng took the tree branch and went to her birth mother's grave.

She planted tree branches by the grave, tears of grievance and longing falling drop by drop.

Watered by tears day after day, the branches grew into a big tree.

Beautiful birds flew down from the trees, chirping and chattering as if they were speaking human language.

He asked Su Deng, "Oh, poor girl, what do you want?"

Su Deng said, "I want pearls."

So the bird brought the pearl.

After her two stepsisters arrived, she was left hungry and cold, living like a servant, and could only sleep next to a boiler filled with ashes.

His clothes were tattered and he was covered in dust.

They called her Cinderella, no longer calling her by her name, Cinderella.

Pearls are something that only my stepsister has ever had.

She had never seen it.

Big and white, pure and beautiful.

“I want a gemstone necklace,” she said to the little bird again.

So the little bird brought a gemstone necklace.

The colored gemstones are like glass, dazzling and beautiful, shining like the sun.

She spoke to the bird for the third time, "I want gorgeous clothes."

Then the little bird brought back a gorgeous dress.

Whatever she wants, the little bird will bring her.

So, whenever she saw her two stepsisters with new jewelry or clothes, she would come to the little bird and ask for help.

Her jewelry and fine clothes have piled up into a small mountain.

But she didn't dare wear it back to her residence; she only dared to wear it here after finishing all the chores at home.

Until one day, the father brought back news that the king was going to choose a fiancé for his son and was going to hold a grand three-day banquet, inviting all eligible young women.

The prince will choose one of them to be his bride.

The two stepsisters were very excited and called Su Deng over.

"Help us dress up and polish our shoes; we are going to the king's banquet."

Su Deng obediently squatted down to wipe their shoes and straighten their skirts.

The prince's ball must be very lively, right?

She's also the count's daughter, so she should be able to go too, right?

My father is not home.

She went to find her stepmother.

Her stepmother, annoyed by her pestering, looked at her with disgust and threw her a bowl of mixed green beans. "If you finish dividing this bowl of beans within two hours, I'll let you go."

Even if you had a huge bowl of beans, it might not be possible to divide them all in twenty hours.

According to the plot, the little bird should bring her friends to help her pick it up.

But for some reason, here, Su Deng suddenly found herself unable to act independently and was no longer controlled by the plot.

Picking beans?

Su Deng lowered her eyes, carried the basin outside, poured the beans into the yard, and put her finger to her lips to whistle.

A flock of birds arrived instantly.

In less than ten minutes, the birds had eaten all the beans on the ground.

Su Deng turned her head to look at her, fully expecting to get rid of her stepmother this time, and said calmly, "It's all done."

The stepmother instantly flew into a rage and grabbed a stick to strike him.

"You little brat, you dare to play tricks on me, huh?"

"Do you know how much that bowl of beans costs? You won't need to eat for the next few days."

Su Deng raised her hand to grab the stick and hit back, but halfway up she realized she couldn't lift it. She was unable to fight back and could only take the blows, one after another.

She continued beating him until her stepmother got tired.

The stepmother threw the stick, yelling, "Don't you even know how good you are?!"

Her two stepsisters took turns urging her to dress up beautifully and set off.

If the father hadn't seen this, he would have taken them to the ball.

"Why... I'm clearly a father's daughter too..."

“Wuwuwu…”

Su Deng heard herself crying. With her body covered in bruises from the beating, she came to her mother's grave and cried her heart out.

A bird appeared in the tree and asked, "Dear Cinderella, why are you crying?"

Su Deng thought she would still follow the plot, but when she looked up at the little bird, a virtual screen appeared in front of her.

There were a few lines of small text on the screen—

First, tell the little bird that you want to go to the ball and continue the story.

Second, skip the ball and start another storyline.

Note: Every choice you make will affect the direction of the entire story. Please choose carefully.

Has something new appeared?

Su Deng raised an eyebrow and chose option two without hesitation.

The screen disappeared.

Su Deng heard herself choke out, "I miss my mother so much."

"Oh, my dear girl."

Suddenly, a figure appeared behind her, bent down, and gently pulled her, who was crying in front of the grave, into his arms, his voice full of love.

Su Deng looked up, her eyes blurry with tears, at the woman who had suddenly appeared. "Who are you?"

"Everyone calls me the Fairy Godmother," said the woman in the wide dress. "I can grant all your wishes."
