Chapter 156 New Star Leap Race (14)

The room was cramped and dark, and the walls were covered in blood.

It was terrifying to watch.

Those words written in blood were filled with terror.

This is the second stage of the individual competition.

The system didn't specify any rules.

Su Deng quickly scanned the area before walking to the door.

The door was locked.

Looking out through the crack in the door, all I could see was blood.

The writing was crooked and messy.

[Quickly...escape...]

It was all written in blood, a chaotic mess.

The door is locked.

This environment reminded Su Deng of a mental hospital.

Unsurprisingly, it was a locked room.

The key to open the door should be in this room.

When Su Deng looked up at the ceiling while searching for clues, she paused again.

There is an eye on it.

Similar to the Eye of Annihilation, it has a red eyeball within a black pupil.

Staring at it for too long makes me dizzy.

Like a whirlpool, it sucks people in.

There was also a line of blood-written words next to it—

[You could be next]

After searching around, no clues were found on the surface.

Su Deng squinted, walked to the door, and touched the material of the door.

It's not some indestructible steel.

She took two steps back and then kicked him hard.

The door is not open.

Su Deng hissed, hopped on one leg several times, and rubbed it for a long time before the pain subsided.

"It's quite sturdy..."

Su Deng gritted his teeth and drew his sword.

He gripped the sword hilt with both hands and slammed it down hard on the door lock!

Snap——

Locked down.

It’s open.

Su Deng's lips twitched slightly, feeling that she had been a little foolish.

She rubbed her numb legs again, picked up her sword with one hand, opened the door, and walked out.

Outside the door was a dark corridor, its length impossible to discern.

The red and green safety indicator lights were flashing.

When the lights came on, the bloodstains on the wall became visible.

The walls here are all red, as if they were painted with blood.

Many of the words written in blood were striking.

Don't trust anyone.

[It's here]

[Help me]

[……]

And so on.

There is more than one room.

It was so quiet you couldn't even hear someone breathing.

Su Deng tiptoed into the next room.

Just as he reached for the doorknob, ready to cleave it open with his sword, a sound came from the stairwell.

"Thump—thump—"

It was the sound of footsteps going upstairs.

Like a drum, heavy and loud.

It's like stepping on someone's heart, making their heart beat in sync with its breath.

Su Deng released the doorknob and walked along the wall toward the source of the sound.

"Ah! Help!"

"Mom, help!"

Suddenly, a child's piercing scream rang out.

"Mother……"

The sounds rose and fell continuously, in the opposite direction to the footsteps.

"Su Muye!"

Su Deng paused for a moment, then her pupils contracted, and she quickly ran towards the source of the crying.

The door to the corner storage room was half-open, and sobbing could be heard from inside.

"Mommy...Mommy, where are you...I'm so scared..."

Su Deng tentatively asked in a low voice, "Su Muye?"

The crying stopped for a moment.

There was a response very quickly.

"Mom? Is that you, Mom?"

Su Deng took a torch and used it to illuminate the room as she walked inside.

In the corner, amidst a pile of clutter, I spotted a small figure.

He stood up, wearing denim overalls stained with blood.

Her pretty little face was pale and bluish, and her eyes were red and swollen from crying.

"Mom, it really is you!"

Upon seeing Su Deng clearly, he became emotional and rushed towards her, crying.

Su Deng stroked his head. "How did you end up here?"

"I...I don't know..." Su Muyue sobbed, "When I woke up, I found myself here..."

Su Deng squatted down, looked at his blood-covered body, and frowned slightly. "What did you do? How did you get like this?"

"Waaaaah..." Su Muyue buried her head in her arms, sobbing silently, "Mommy, I thought I would never see you again..."

"No, I... uh..."

Su Deng's heart softened at his crying, and she gently patted his back and coaxed him softly, but suddenly a sharp pain shot through her chest.

She looked down and saw a dagger stuck in her heart.

The hilt of the dagger was held in Su Muye's hand.
