The system's voice remained cold, yet it seemed to have gained a touch more humanity than before, and it even appeared to have become a female voice.
Qin Xian muttered to himself, "Could the person controlling this system have just had their entire family die?"
Listening to the broadcast, he felt as if the other party's entire family had died; the tone was dejected, listless, and perfunctory.
Nobody paid him any attention, and nobody cared whether the system or its entire family had died.
The group of people were looking around.
This is a desert, stretching as far as the eye can see, seemingly merging with the sky.
Amazingly, the sand in this desert is entirely crimson red!
Like a blood-red sand sea, it is chilling.
The sun hung in the sky like a fireball, and the scorching earth emitted plumes of hot smoke.
Qiao Zhi murmured, "The setting sun hangs round over the long river, and a lone plume of smoke rises straight from the vast desert..."
Qin Xian cursed, "Isn't there a normal dungeon world here?!"
Liu Sangua said, "Hoping for the divine court to function normally is like hoping the sun will fall from the sky."
I've only been standing here for a short while, and I'm already covered in sweat from the sun. My skin is red and sore, and I can hardly bear it anymore.
The newly scabbed wounds on Su Deng's body were stinging from the sun, and blood oozed out, staining the bandages red. She glanced down at them, pursed her lips, and covered them with her clothes so that no one else would notice.
But Su Muye still noticed it with her sharp eyes and felt a pang of heartache. "Mom..."
"I'm fine." Su Deng gently patted her head.
Qin Xian started to get irritated, "This is all flat desert. Forget about buildings and mountains, we can't even tell which way is which! Where are we supposed to find a door?!"
"There will be some eventually," Liu Sangua said. "Let's head this way first."
He pointed in the direction of the sun.
The crimson sand was soft, and there was quicksand. Qin Xian thought that was deadly enough, but he soon realized he was wrong. There were even more deadly dangers in this desert.
Red ants emerged from under the sand, densely packed and boundless, blending into the ground. Without close inspection, they could almost be mistaken for long-legged red pebbles.
The sun in the sky is hotter than the torch, so it can't be driven away.
A two-liter bottle of water at the redemption shop costs 200 shopping points.
Even if you had points, the water would evaporate from the heat before it even hit the ground.
They don't even have enough to drink themselves, so how could they possibly have extra water to irrigate the desert?
“Run!”
Liu Sangua was relatively light, so he took on the responsibility of looking after Su Muye. The five figures ran at full speed through the red desert, with swarms of man-eating red ants behind them.
Realizing they couldn't catch up, the red ants gathered together from the ground, climbing and piecing themselves together to form a giant, blood-red hand, like the palm of Buddha, which descended from the sky and covered the group.
"Damn it!" This reminded Qin Xian of the baby from earlier, and even with his lips cracked, he couldn't stop cursing. "What the hell is this thing! Does it even have the will to let people live?!"
Just as the blood ant hand was about to fall, Su Deng raised his sword and slashed backhand. The sword energy shattered the giant hand, and the red ants fell down like rain. But soon, they reformed into a giant hand and grabbed at them.
"This isn't finding a door! It's a fucking desert escape!" Even the usually aloof Qiao Zhi couldn't help but want to curse.
Qin Xian shouted, "Liu Sangua and Su Deng, have you two come up with a solution?"
"No."
"not yet."
The two spoke in unison.
These red ants are not afraid of heat or water; there's simply no other way to get them.
It seems they can only run.
While running, your health points kept dropping.
After Su Deng shattered the red ant formation several more times, he found that his health points had increased by two.
She frowned. "Does fighting these ants increase my health points?"
She asked Qin Xian to try, but Qin Xian refused no matter what, so Qiao Zhi went instead.
It can't kill ants, but it can shatter all sorts of giant objects made up of them.
After shattering the three times, Qiao Zhi looked at his health points and exclaimed happily, "It's increased by one point!"
"Qin..."
"I still have 80 health points left, I think I can hold on!"
Qin Xian would rather die than go.
no way.
As the group was discussing taking turns carrying Su Muye and blocking the red ants to restore his health, Qin Xian suddenly jumped up into the air and let out a terrified scream.
"Ah!! I've been bitten by ants! Help me, please help me!"
"Ahhh!"
He ran and jumped, tearing at his clothes as he went.
As their formation was shattered, a red ant flew over, landed in his collar, and bit him on the chest.
The skin immediately burned, throbbing and swelling, and the pain spread to the surrounding area.
Liu Sangua reacted quickly, exchanging his money at the store for a bottle of disinfectant. "Medicine!"
"Ah! My health has dropped to 61!!"
I got bitten, and my health dropped by more than 20 points instantly!
Qin Xian is going crazy.
"ah!"
Another scream rang out, but it didn't come from Qin Xian's mouth; it came from a distance.
In the flat desert, about two or three hundred meters to their left rear, several figures appeared out of nowhere, but they didn't notice them as they were busy fighting off the fleeing red ants.
That must have been a small team. A quiet-looking boy fell behind a few steps and was completely covered by red ants.
A huge person was instantly swallowed up, leaving only a skeleton. Red ants scurried through the skeleton, which decayed and turned into dust, scattering on the ground and melting into the red sand.
