How did we end up back in the forest?
Su Deng was sitting on the ground, deep in thought, when she heard a soft sound coming from behind a large tree, along with a faint meow.
Su Deng stood up, took out a torch, and walked over with a sword in one hand.
"ah!"
Before the sword even reached the other's neck, screams of agony rang out, "Don't kill me! Please don't kill me!"
The little girl, who was just over ten years old, was wearing a not-so-new witch's robe that seemed to have been altered. She was holding a cat that was all black and had blue eyes like glass.
Su Deng paused for a moment, "Your name is Bella?"
Bella's eyes widened. "How do you know my name? Are you a witch?"
Su Deng looked down at the clothes she was wearing; they were her own.
"Sister, are you a witch from the Witch's Castle? I'm a witch on my way to the Witch's Castle, please don't kill me..."
Bella looked at Su Deng with a nervous expression, but the cat in her arms meowed and jumped out to Su Deng's side.
“This is a cat I picked up on the street, its name is Black Bean…” Bella quickly ran over and picked it up, not forgetting to explain.
Su Deng paused, ignored her, and walked deeper into the forest with the torch.
Bella looked at her, bit her lip, and still ran after her while holding the cat, asking cautiously, "Sister, are you going to the Witch's Castle? Can I come with you? I promise I won't cause you any trouble, and I'll leave once we get to the Witch's Castle."
Su Deng neither said yes nor no, but simply continued walking forward.
Bella pursed her lips and mustered her courage to follow behind her.
The forest was dense and dark, with moonlight filtering through the gaps in the branches. In the thin mist, the shadows of the clinging branches and leaves cast on the ground looked like monsters lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce at any moment.
After walking for a while, stone statues of various sizes began to appear on the road, some shaped like birds and others like humans, all in a fleeing posture, and you could even see the fear on their faces.
Further on, in the dark forest, beams of red light shot out, and birds startled in flight were turned into statues after being swept by the red light.
Su Deng looked at it for a moment, then handed the torch in his hand to Bella behind him, "Take it."
Bella didn't dare to speak, holding the cat in one arm and using the other to hold the torch.
Su Deng took out a sturdy iron bow and sword from the system warehouse. It was the same one she bought when she killed Shi Wei in the city during her previous adventure. She hadn't broken it, so she just threw it back into the warehouse. After all, it was still usable, and throwing it away would be a waste, since points were quite valuable.
She drew her bow, nocked an arrow, and aimed at the nearest beam of red light, shooting it towards it.
The arrow flew past, grazing the tree trunk, and disappeared without a trace, as if swallowed by the night.
Su Deng frowned slightly and continued shooting.
One after another.
As the eighth arrow was fired, a soft "crack" sounded, as if something had split open, and the red light that had been sweeping back and forth at the front disappeared.
"Destroyed?!" Bella's eyes widened in shock.
It can indeed be destroyed, but there's still such a long way to go. If this continues, even if the arrows in the system shop are unlimited, her points will be used up.
"Is that an angel?!" Bella suddenly exclaimed, pointing to the horizon.
Su Deng looked up.
A white angel with white wings flew past the moon, surrounded and pursued by four witches. The angel was no match for them and was struck by lightning, crashing to the ground and creating a deep crater.
Su Deng grabbed Bella and quickly hid behind a tree.
The angel crawled out of the pit, trying to run away, but was surrounded and blocked by four witches. His pure white wings were now charred and gray, his clothes were stained with blood, and he gritted his teeth and shouted fiercely.
"If I die here, Angel City will wage war against Witch City, and all the witches in Witch City will die!"
"The Seven-Day War has only just begun, and Angel City has already sent people to launch a sneak attack. Since they dare to come, we dare to kill them!" A witch in a purple dress sneered. "At worst, Witch City and Angel City will perish together!"
Next, the white angel was forced into the forest by several witches and turned into a stone statue under the red beams of magic.
White Angel, Freya...
The scene, time, characters, appearance, even the words and the expression on the witch's face are exactly the same!
...So, did that golden light restart the story?
The next moment should be when Freya discovers them.
"Come out!" Freya's voice rang out at just the right moment.
really!
Su Deng walked straight out.
“Kasha?” Freya frowned after recognizing her. “What are you doing here? Didn’t you run away earlier…”
She wanted to say something, but hesitated and stopped.
After discovering she had no magic, he began a five-minute-long reprimand, with the punctuation marks in the reprimand being exactly the same as before.
After scolding them, he took them back to the Witch's Castle.
The Witch's Castle was exactly the same as before; the moon was shrouded in mist, its reflection shrouded in a gray haze on the vast, boundless sea.
"The ones you brought back will stay with you for now. You all rest first. I'll go and inform Lilith of your return. As for the rest, you'll have to deal with it yourself tomorrow."
Freya led them to their lodgings and then left.
...The black cat jumped in front of her, and Bella nervously picked it up and then went to find a room next door to sleep.
Su Deng walked onto the balcony and looked towards the other side of the Witch City, where lightning flashed and thunder roared as witches battled in the sky.
Soon, the entire Witch City was shaken and filled with loud noises. Bella knocked on the door. Su Deng was about to turn around to open the door when she saw a cold light flying towards her from directly in front of her, as if it had come down from the moon, carrying endless killing intent.
It was so fast that she didn't even have time to dodge before it pierced through her body.
Su Deng let out a muffled groan and fell vertically backward.
