Su Deng slumped to the ground, head down, radiating despair and hopelessness, motionless as if she had lost her soul.
Su Muyue knelt beside her, crying silently, afraid that something might happen to her, yet not daring to make a sound to disturb her.
After an unknown amount of time, Su Deng finally moved.
She lifted her head from her disheveled hair and looked at Yan Sizhan on the cross, her tear-reddened eyes devoid of any light.
Yan Sizhan looked at her, not understanding his own emotions, only feeling a pain and sadness in his heart.
But the heart inside his body at this moment was not his.
Yan Sizhan simply said, "Su Deng, you can leave once you kill me."
What's the point of going out?
She wasn't just out of this one game instance that had trapped her; there was another, or even thousands upon thousands of games waiting for her.
She struggled for so long, gave up everything, and thought she had broken free from control, but in the end she was still just a puppet on a string. No matter how far she ran, she was still in the palm of the manipulator's hand.
She didn't want to struggle anymore.
Being trapped in this game forever doesn't seem so bad.
But then, Qin Xian would have died in vain.
"Qin Xian..."
That cowardly, greedy man who complained after falling in love, who ran away quickly when in danger, yet always came back to save her, wanting to wait for his mother to return...
Su Deng murmured to herself as she took a dagger from the system inventory.
It was the one Lilith gave her, and it had magical runes on it.
This is a god-tier material in the game; beyond the word "material," it's a weapon of the gods.
Nature can also kill gods.
Su Deng opened her palm and gripped the sharp blade of the dagger tightly. She slowly pulled the dagger out of her hand, leaving her palm a bloody mess. The blade of the dagger was stained red with her blood, and drops of it fell to the ground.
Su Muye's eyes widened in terror, "Mom..."
Su Deng seemed oblivious to the pain, her expression unchanged. Holding the blood-red dagger stained with her own blood, she walked up to Yan Sizhan, her head bowed, not daring to look at him. A single red tear slid down her cheek.
"I'm sorry..." she said, her voice hoarse and strained.
Yan Sizhan smiled and said, "You haven't wronged me."
“Mom…” Su Muyi already knew what she was going to do. Looking at Yan Sizhan on the cross, she couldn’t hold back any longer. “Mom, I’m sorry, I lied to you. Dad is…”
"Yan Sizhan." Su Deng turned her head, picking up where he left off, her expression calm. "He's your father, isn't he?"
Su Muyue and Yan Sizhan both looked up at Su Deng.
Su Muye's mind went blank for a moment, her voice trembling with tears and fear, "Mom... I didn't mean to lie to you, I..."
"I don't blame you." Su Deng smiled gently at him.
When did you start to have doubts?
Upon their first meeting, Su Muyue described Yan Sizhan as mentally ill. Later, Su Muyue became very resistant whenever Yan Sizhan was mentioned, and her expression was always complicated whenever she saw him.
He hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.
She did initially consider that it might be Fu Jin, but after a brief encounter with him, she dismissed the idea.
She never imagined that the words she had used to deceive Yan Sizhan would come true.
"Mom...I'm sorry..." Su Muye hugged her and cried, "I didn't mean to lie to you! I just wanted to save you...I just think Dad is a bad guy now..."
“I know everything.” Su Deng switched the dagger to her other hand, and with her blood-free hand, she pinched his soft cheek, her gaze gentle. “I have never blamed you, and I will never blame you.”
She and Yan Sizhan were able to have a child, so they must be very much in love.
Su Muyue, who came from the future, denied that Yan Sizhan was her father. This must be because, apart from her initial impression that Yan Sizhan was a mentally ill person and a divine court executor who came to kill her, something else must have happened in the future.
Su Muye simply couldn't say it.
"Mom, Dad..." Su Muye finally felt no pressure, but her crying became even more heart-wrenching.
Yan Sizhan paused, a look of confusion flashing across his pale, handsome face. "You..."
“He is your son, my son and your son.” Su Deng turned and walked up to him, looking up at him. “I was lying to you back then, because I didn’t expect it to be true, even if it was in the future.”
Su Deng's bloodied hand touched Yan Sizhan's pale face, her eyes calm and undisturbed. "But I don't love you now, and I won't let the future limit who I am now. However, I want to know who I am and why I'm with you."
Yan Sizhan seemed not to quite understand the meaning behind her words, and paused for a moment, "Love, what is that?"
Ares didn't tell him.
Su Deng paused slightly, then chuckled, took another step forward, stood on tiptoe to hug him, rested her chin on his chest, and whispered, "Whether you die or not, I have no way out."
Yan Sizhan lowered his eyes, looking at the top of her dark hair. "Let's do it."
"Soon..." Su Deng murmured, her blood-covered hand gripping the dagger tightly, and she plunged it into his heart with all her might.
"ah!"
A piercing scream rang out, causing the entire castle to twist and tremble, and countless puppets to jump and scream wildly.
Su Deng ignored them, took a few steps back to distance herself from Yan Sizhan, and held Su Muye's hand tightly.
Su Muye's eyes were filled with tears, "Dad..."
Yan Sizhan's body gradually dissipated, his dark eyes looking at the two of them. He smiled and said, "Don't be afraid, I will find my heart and yours soon."
Su Deng lowered her head and didn't look at Yan Sizhan, her grip on Su Muye's hand tightening.
After Yan Sizhan disappeared, the castle twisted even more violently. The strings on all the flying puppets were broken, their limbs were shattered, and finally the entire castle exploded.
