Chapter 285 The Witch God Sacrifice (22) End

After the contract was reached, the world returned to normal.

All the rifts from the disaster have disappeared, the Wushan Shrine remains magnificent, and the people of the world live in peace and prosperity, as if nothing had ever happened and they have no memory of this disaster.

All I remember is that the newly appointed high priestess of Wushan Shrine, Riki Jinomiya, officially became a divine child, the bride of the gods, and the messenger of the gods' will. The shrine's ritual was successfully completed, and the gods blessed the world. Riki Jinomiya, the divine child of the shrine, became the gods' representative in this world.

Meanwhile, heavy snow continued to fall over the area encompassing Wushan Shrine, the Firefly Forest, and even the surrounding Sakurajima Island at the foot of the mountain.

The game is not over.

Su Deng watched this scene like a bystander.

Riki Tsunomiya asked her, "You must think I deserve it, right?"

Su Deng said expressionlessly, "Everyone has their own choices."

If we don't choose this path, who knows what lies at the end?

Riki Ninomiya stood in the shrine at the highest point in the world, looking down at the tiny world below. Even though her long hair had turned white, she was still as gentle as a spring breeze, more mature, more composed, and more silent than before.

She said, "There is still one ritual that has not been completed."

Without any fanfare or shrine maiden attire, she changed into a colorful outfit, the seven colors blending together beautifully. Her long, white hair was loose, yet she remained elegant and dignified, standing in the snow-covered shrine, as gentle as a warm spring breeze.

She became the Divine Court Executor who controlled the game world.

Under the cover of night, Riki Tsunomiya, holding a white gohei (ceremonial hat), danced gracefully on the cliff behind the shrine, chanting incantations for salvation. Her movements were colorful and dazzling, like a fluttering rainbow butterfly, or like a real goddess, pure and holy, dreamlike and ethereal.

Su Deng sat on a rock under the tree, resting her chin on her hand, quietly watching her.

"...All the evils of the world have been forged into my body; with my body, I will redeem the sins of the world...I will heed the divine decree and deliver all beings from suffering..."

As Riki Tsunomiya danced and performed a spiritual ritual, a golden light flew up from somewhere at the foot of the mountain, followed by ten, a hundred, and then a thousand!

Like a shooting star, it enveloped the shrine, illuminating the night as if it were daytime.

"...The gods shaped my body; I am filled with trepidation and will obey their will..."

A beam of light conjured a tree in the air, its body surrounded by dappled light and shadow.

A beam of light conjured up a man with crimson skin covered in strange patterns and two horns on his head.

A beam of light transformed into a white fox, its three tails swaying behind it.

One beam of light transformed into an ordinary man, another beam into a girl dressed in white…

As the light materialized, the monster logbook that appeared during the leveling up in this dungeon automatically opened in Su Deng's game control panel, with a beam of light flying out from each page and clashing with some monsters in the air.

Su Deng was stunned.

Riki Tsunomiya is now imbued with the will of the gods as the God of Godhood, and is performing rituals to deliver all the souls of the dead in the world.

There are humans, demons, and all sorts of ghosts.

...Therefore, the ghosts in the Monster Chronicle are all dead ghosts and monsters. The main purpose of this Monster Chronicle is to collect the spirits of the dead monsters and to help them pass on to the afterlife!

After an unknown amount of time, all the spirits of the dead, both human and demon, dispersed and transformed back into streaks of golden light. They circled around Riki Tsunomiya twice before disappearing into the sky, like a magnificent meteor shower!

Riki Tsunomiya stopped dancing and knelt on the edge of the cliff. Looking down, she saw the lights of the human world; looking up, she saw the starry night sky. She was like a connector between heaven and earth, beautiful yet ethereal.

“I’ve thought about running away before, but I didn’t dare, because I know more about the shrine than anyone else.” She spoke softly, as if speaking to Su Deng behind her: “But the moment I truly stepped into this shrine as a shrine maiden, I felt genuine fear.”

“I don’t even know if the gods really exist, yet I’m destined to be a sacrifice to them my whole life. All my dancing in this life will be for the gods, and I’ll be trapped on this mountain forever until I turn to ashes.”

"Or perhaps, one day, we'll become playthings of the gods..."

The bride of the gods, the spokesperson of the will of the gods, are nothing but deceptive terms.

"Only today did I realize that gods truly exist, but this god is somewhat different from what I once imagined..."

Riki Tsunomiya couldn't quite put her finger on what was different, but for some reason, she felt that this deity wasn't a real deity, yet it could control her world.

As Su Deng listened, her eyes lowered. She was now even more certain that all of this was nothing more than a conspiracy by the God Lord. But why?

“Haruko, I’m sorry you said you’d die if you couldn’t become a shrine maiden.” Riki Jinomiya turned to look at her. “I’m really happy you didn’t die.”

Su Deng opened her eyes. "I am not Nai Su Chunzi."

Riki Tsunomiya paused for a moment, but wasn't too surprised. She smiled and said, "I should have expected this."

She sighed deeply, "Sometimes I wonder if my fate was predetermined from the moment I was born, but why me? Why was I chosen..."

Her escape will come at the cost of the destruction of the entire world.

She paused, not continuing the conversation, and didn't ask Su Deng's real name.

"Jimiya Riki." Yan Sizhan suddenly appeared beside Jimiya Riki and said coldly, "It's time to go."

Riki Ninomiya looked up at him. "If I go with you, the God will no longer punish this world, right?"

Yan Sizhan remained silent.

Riki Ninomiya then asked, "I want to dance one last time."

For her world.

Yan Sizhan: "Okay."

Riki Tsunomiya stood up, and this time her dance was different from all the previous ones. It was unrestrained and unrestrained, yet it conveyed a sense of despair and sorrow.
