The wound to his heart wasn't fatal, but his low health meant he couldn't withstand Zhuo Feng killing Su Deng again. He gritted his teeth, got up, and staggered away.
Su Deng sighed and continued searching for a Taoist priest in the village.
But after searching the entire village, and with the sky already beginning to lighten, I still hadn't seen a soul.
The next day, the sixteenth day of the first lunar month, the Yao Village sacrificial ceremony began at noon.
The mountain god said he must stop the Taoist priest before dawn.
Su Deng's head started to ache, and she eventually returned to the ancestral hall.
The large crater left by lightning is still there in the courtyard, and the ghost statue is scattered with broken stones.
The memorial tablets in the main room corresponded to the coffins in the underground crypt, exactly one hundred in total.
Su Deng's gaze fell on the ghost statue on the table in the center. After pausing for two seconds, she flipped herself onto the table, kicked the ghost statue off, and took out the small ghost statue she had brought from the modern Yao Village from the system's warehouse, threw them together, and smashed them.
I don't know what material it was made of. I smashed it for ages and was exhausted, but all I got was a broken head.
Su Deng, panting and supporting her aching back, stopped smashing and, looking at the cloths hanging in the room, lit a few matches and set them on fire.
It was too dry here, and the house was dilapidated. Soon, the entire ancestral hall was engulfed in flames.
As Su Deng stepped out of the ancestral hall, she saw the Taoist priest standing not far away, surrounded by black mist.
Sure enough, it appeared.
Su Deng gripped the dagger tightly.
"It's you again!" The Taoist priest stared at her with a sinister gaze. "You're still alive? You have that god's disgusting smell on you."
Su Deng steadied herself and remained calm, coldly saying, "As an evil being, you killed so many people in this village in your pursuit of immortality and imprisoned the mountain god. You should be the one who deserves to die."
"Evil thoughts?" The Taoist's yellow robe fluttered as he sneered, "I am the evil thought of all the villagers in this entire Yao Village. They want longevity, they want to never die, they made a wish to the gods to become gods themselves. I just casually said that as long as they sacrifice their lives to the gods, they will take away the gods' divine power. So they imprisoned their gods. I was just fulfilling their wishes."
He glared fiercely at Su Deng, casting a spell with his hands, "Damn humans, why did you have to meddle in my affairs and destroy my formation and Dao body? Then you will become part of the sacrifice as well!"
A fierce wind howled all around, sand and stones flew, and thunder roared.
This power is so great that no one has the ability to fight back.
Su Deng retreated, her face turning pale as she looked at the dense lightning bolts descending from above. Just when she thought she couldn't escape and was about to die, a golden light suddenly burst out from her body, forming a protective shield above her head and protecting her inside.
