Chapter 47 Ancient Village Festival (22) History Changed…

After breakfast, Su Deng followed Xiu Xiu to the village committee service station, and stared blankly at the big tree at the entrance of the village and the well under the tree.

She asked Xiuxiu, "What is this well for?"

Xiuxiu walked over and said, “That ancient well is said to be hundreds of years old. Someone fell into it before. The village originally wanted to fill it in, but after asking someone to take a look, they said that the well was some kind of spiritual vein in the village and could not be filled in, so they covered it up. I heard this from my mother.”

“Su Deng…”

Su Deng suddenly heard someone call her name and turned her head. "Xiuxiu, did you hear something?"

Xiuxiu shook her head.

"It is my mountain god."

The voice rang out again, and Su Deng's heart skipped a beat. She calmly said to Xiu Xiu, "I'm going to the restroom. You go ahead."

After Xiuxiu left, Su Deng walked towards the ancient well under the tree. "Are you here?"

There was no answer, only a suction force that pulled Su Deng dizzily into the darkness. It took a long time for her to land and recover. She found herself in a cave, where there was a stone statue entangled with red threads and thorns.

It's a statue of a mountain god who has been imprisoned!

Has she returned to the underground cave in Guyao Village?

"Thanks."

Su Deng was stunned when the mountain god's voice rang out.

Su Deng quickly calmed down. "You didn't bring me here just to say this, did you?"

Golden light emanated from the mountain god statue, and transparent orbs of light floated out, with scenes flashing and playing inside them.

"This is the past of Yao Village."

Going back to the distant past, Yao Village wasn't called Yao Village before; it was a village formed by a group of refugees.

They established their village, but misfortune struck again and again, with years of disaster and widespread suffering. The people knelt and prayed to the gods, and some even committed suicide by banging their heads against the ground. They cursed the heavens for being blind, and evil spirits gathered from their intense resentment, while gods were born from their desperate prayers.

The mountain god absorbs the villagers' faith, suppresses the evil energy formed by the mountain demon, brings the villagers a bountiful harvest, and protects them.

The villagers built a stone statue, enshrined it in a shrine, and called it the Mountain God. They knelt and worshipped it every day, offering incense and prayers.

This is their own god.
