Li Zhao swiped the screen with one thumb and said, "Calling Yao Zhi."
Qin Xian: "..."
The technology is really damn advanced.
This is not the underworld.
Is this a technological world?!
The holographic, nearly transparent phone screen displays a message indicating that a call is in progress.
Before Su Deng arrived, she had forgotten about this. She pursed her lips and continued, "The matter concerns the imprisonment of the King of the Underworld. This is a taboo in the Underworld, and it's far too sensitive..."
Her words made Li Zhao's pupils narrow slightly, but he didn't hang up the phone.
The call connected the next second.
They even turned on the loudspeaker.
"I'm working overtime today, so don't mess with me." His voice, though elegant, carried a hint of impatience and irritation. "You'd better have something important to say."
Li Zhao looked up at Su Deng and the other two, a meaningful smile playing on his lips. "I heard that there was a mistake in the ghost arrangement at Judge Yao's place, and he sent someone to find me so I could discuss it?"
Su Deng's heart tightened, and she subtly squeezed Su Muye's hand, while her other hand, hidden behind her back, had already drawn the Nether Spear.
Qin Xian held his breath, trying his best not to let his nervousness show.
"What allocation..." Yao Zhi subconsciously didn't know what to say, and paused after saying a few words, then said casually, "What allocation doesn't all need your approval, Li Yin Si? Last time I contacted you, you said behind my back that I didn't respect you. This time I sent someone to go in person, so why are you still not satisfied?"
There was no flaw in what she said next.
But Yao Zhi knew nothing about this.
Su Deng didn't know why she was like this, and she was still worried.
really.
Li Zhao chuckled, "How could I dare to be dissatisfied with Judge Yao? However, these people said that you sent them to find me because of the matter of Hades' imprisonment."
Hades has been imprisoned.
Crescent Moon has been telling this story to every ghost in the underworld for over two hundred years, but not a single ghost has believed it.
Crescent Moon went to see him many times, and now the King of Ghosts in the Underworld is questioning him.
The answers I received were all negative.
The previous Hades was the second Hades since the birth of the underworld. No one knows how long he lived or how powerful he was.
Imprison him?
It's impossible.
But Crescent Moon insisted that he had been imprisoned by the Ghost King.
Crescent Moon has searched every underworld official and every judge.
Nobody believed her and told her to stop making a scene.
After that, no one in the underworld dared to mention this matter again, except for Crescent Moon.
There was a moment of silence on the phone.
Yao Zhi spoke up, "Everyone has doubts about the King of the Underworld. The Ghost King has been speaking unclearly. If things continue like this, the reincarnation of ghosts in the Underworld will no longer require any trial; it will become a lottery. As officials of the Underworld, don't we have a responsibility to find out the truth?"
“Our responsibility is to protect the underworld. The Ghost King will not disrespect the Underworld King, and he has his own decisions.” Li Zhao squinted. “Judge Yao, do your job.”
After saying that, he hung up the phone.
He looked up at Su Deng and the others, his effeminate face pale and pink, a cold smile playing on his lips. "Was it Yueya who sent you, not Judge Yao?"
Qin Xian's breath hitched, and his hand involuntarily grabbed Su Deng's clothes.
From the moment Yao Zhi answered the phone, no matter how airtight her words were, Su Deng knew that Li Zhao wouldn't believe her.
As to the nature of the relationships between these officials of the underworld, Yueya only said that mentioning Yao Zhi would make Li Zhao believe it.
But now it seems that this underworld official isn't exactly love-struck either.
He's also quite smart.
You can't become a god of the underworld if you don't have a brain.
Lying is a gamble.
Lost.
Even though she was exposed at this moment, Su Deng did not panic or fear. She calmly replied, "It is Lord Crescent Moon."
"Lord Crescent Moon? Pfft..." Li Zhao scoffed at the title. "When Hades was still alive, she was Hades' secretary. Everyone had to be polite to her. Now that Hades is gone, she keeps saying that Hades was imprisoned by the Ghost King. She thinks she can do it after reading too many novels that were burned down from the ancient world. She wants to form a faction and start a rebel army to fight against the Ghost King and save Hades."
The fact that the Ghost King hasn't killed her yet is already a favor to the Underworld King. Does she really think she can still command the wind and rain as before?
"You stupid things, always thinking you're doing something earth-shattering. If Shan had any brains at all, she wouldn't have used these three flaws to put on an act for me."
Flaw Qin Xian: "..."
Su Muye: "..."
Flaw Su Deng: "..."
Crescent Moon shouted that everyone in the underworld had to give her face.
So they were all made of paper?
"Su Deng..." This ghost wasn't fooled; he wasn't easily deceived. Qin Xian panicked at the flaws in his deception. "What do we do now?"
Su Muyue looked tense, a pang of self-reproach in his heart. "If I hadn't come along, maybe he wouldn't have noticed..."
After all, he's just a child. Who would deliver a message for a child?
Despite the flaw, Su Deng remained calm. "Since Lord Yin Si has already guessed it, then we won't embarrass ourselves here."
She grabbed Qin Xian and Su Muye, and turned to leave.
But they were stopped by the ghost guards at the door.
"You think you can get away with lying to me?" Li Zhao sneered, raising his hand and waving at the ghost messengers, "Take them all away and steam them."
Several ghost messengers entered.
Qin Xian was about to resist when Su Deng quickly pressed his hand down.
Qin Xian was agitated, "What are you doing!"
"Listen to me," Su Deng said calmly, letting the ghost guards press down on her shoulders without showing any panic.
Qin Xian didn't know what she was planning, but he kept quiet.
The ghost messengers escorted the three people—two adults and one child—out of the Underworld and towards the steaming area outside.
