Wang Tianyi's eyes darted around, and he got off his bicycle with a grin. "Sister-in-law, I'm looking for my second brother. Have you seen him?"
"Second brother, you've come at a really bad time. He was just at our house a moment ago, but he just left."
"Oh, he came to your house?"
"That's right, we were talking about your nephew's one-month celebration."
"A full moon?!"
Wang Tianren was secretly surprised. He hadn't even realized that the child was almost a month old.
Indeed, ever since the child was born, he took the child to the mountains. Not to mention his uncles and aunts, they have not seen the child yet, and even the child's mother, the grandmother, has not seen her grandson. She only knows that the child is a boy.
"That's right, I heard from the second brother that it's going to happen the day after tomorrow, isn't it?"
"Oh...yes, it's the day after tomorrow. I was just about to discuss this with him, to see how we should celebrate the baby's one-month birthday."
"He wants our manager to be the head steward. If you ask me, it's a waste not to use someone as close as you. Don't you often serve as the head steward for other people?"
"Haha~" Wang Tianyi chuckled dryly, "I was just thinking that Brother Dabao is highly respected, and he gave me face when I arranged things and procedures. I don't have as much prestige as Brother Dabao."
"Don't say that. Your eldest brother Bao will at most be a production team leader. You're much more capable than him. You're destined to be the village chief. If not, you'll have the eldest brother to help you out."
Seeing that the topic was heading in an unspeakable direction, Wang Tianren found a reason to end the conversation.
He hurriedly rode his bicycle all the way back to the pit-house, leaned the bicycle against the wall, and went to his mother Zhang Yufeng's cave dwelling.
"Mother, there's something I need to tell you."
Zhang Yufeng was making shoes for Wang Xiaozhu when she looked up at Wang Tianyi. "Didn't you go to see Lao Wu? Why are you back so soon? Is there something wrong with his health?"
"No, no, it's not about Lao Wu. It's about my second brother. I just saw my second brother at the door of my brother Da Bao's house."
"Huh? What did he go to Da Bao's house for?" Zhang Yufeng stopped what she was doing, quite surprised.
"You don't know, do you? I only found out from Sister-in-law Saifen that my second brother went to find my eldest brother Bao to be his steward. Wang Peng is about to turn one month old."
“Is that so?” Zhang Yufeng thought for a moment and said casually, “There are still three days left, we should be preparing. Da Bao is the team leader and often helps others with their overall management, so it’s not unusual.”
"Mother, don't you understand what I'm saying?"
Wang Tianyi jumped onto the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed) and sat down, saying anxiously, "Mother, think about it, my second brother's son is celebrating his one-month birthday. Isn't this a big event for our family? But if I hadn't happened to be there today, how would we have known?"

What do you mean?
"What I mean is, does my second brother not want us to know about the baby's one-month celebration at all? Did he not include us in it at all, and was he planning to celebrate it secretly by himself?"
Zhang Yufeng was stunned.
Her son's words suddenly awakened her, and she also began to have the same worries.
Originally, she hadn't thought about it this way at all. Anyway, every grandson's one-month celebration was a big event for the family. She had already prepared the longevity lock she had prayed for for her grandson at the temple. She would put it around her grandson's neck when the celebration came. That was what a grandmother should do at the one-month celebration.
She also made two pairs of little tiger-head shoes, a tiger-head hat, and sewed a little padded jacket for the child...
She never imagined that she might miss her grandson's one-month celebration.
But now that I think about it carefully, given the second child's stubborn nature, it's not impossible.
He already harbored resentment towards her because of the third brother's family, and last time, because of the fifth brother's family, they had another falling out.
Before, when we moved to the mountains, we bought coal and would give him some of the wild animals we hunted. But since what happened with Lao Wu, we've lost everything. He must still be angry.
"Tell me, is that possible?" Wang Tianyi interrupted Zhang Yufeng's recollection. She recalled telling Tianxin a few days ago that she was going to the mountains to see the children, but she hadn't received a reply from her second son. Could this be related to the situation?
Could it be that he really doesn't intend to acknowledge me as his mother anymore?
Zhang Yufeng put down what she was holding, looked at Wang Tianyi, and murmured, "Fourth brother, do you think I've been too strict with your second brother?"
"No," Wang Tianyi shook his head. "A mother has the right to discipline her children. No matter how old or successful a son is, he still has to listen to his mother."
"Really? But why did your second brother turn out like this?"
Wang Tianyi didn't want to continue the topic, so he changed the subject again, "Mother, what if Second Brother really doesn't want to call us? There will be a lot of people in the team and village, but no one from our family will be there. If word gets out, people will laugh at us and gossip about us."
Zhang Yufeng nodded, repeating, "Yes, that's what we're saying. How about this, if he still doesn't come to discuss it with us by tomorrow, then you should go and ask him what his plans are."
"What the hell?" Wang Tianyi was a little out of breath.
"Then whoever goes, if you can't reach an agreement, then I'll talk to him. It doesn't matter what opinions you have about me, as your mother, but don't tarnish the reputation of our Wang family to outsiders."
Looking at the row of children's supplies on the box opposite him, Wang Tianyi sighed, "Mother, my second brother doesn't understand how good you are to him at all. He's just stubborn and doesn't understand social etiquette."
