Chapter 23 Motherly Love

He didn't even have the strength to lift his head.

"Brother." Wang Tiancheng couldn't bear to look anymore.

Wang Tianxiao handed the gun to his younger brother, then picked up the leopard cat and placed it next to the two children. The little leopard cat squinted and gently sniffed its mother, seemingly repulsed by the blood, but quickly recognized its mother's scent and began to rub against the leopard cat.

They were still thinking about their mother feeding them.

The leopard cat mother tried to lick her cub's fur with her tongue, but she could only move her mouth a few times and her tongue could not be fully extended.

It shed tears.

Wang Tianxiao used to own cats, and he knew that cats would cry when they were very sad or aggrieved.

The leopard cat mother must be very sad right now.

It died.

The two little ones were still unaware and continued to snuggle in their mother's arms.

"Brother, you're so pitiful."

Wang Tianxiao sighed; he couldn't bear to see this either.

He might not have thought much of such a scene when he was young, but he had a soul that had experienced many hardships, especially the pain of losing his mother and wife. Seeing such a scene again made him feel sad and distressed.

"Tiancheng, dig a hole and bury the leopard cat mother."

Wang Tiancheng handed the gun to Wang Tianxiao and began to bend down and dig a pit.

Because of the cold weather, the ground was frozen solid. Wang Tiancheng used his short dagger to dig for a long time before he could dig a small pit big enough to put the leopard cat in. He lined the bottom with some pine needles and leaves, then gently lifted the leopard cat mother and placed her in the pit, whispering, "You were a respectable mother. Rest in peace."

Wang Tianxiao watched quietly as his younger brother buried the leopard cat's mother. The leopard cat's fur was severely damaged, and it wouldn't fetch much money even if sold.

Moreover, he secretly didn't want to hurt a heroic mother who had sacrificed herself for her child. Perhaps what distinguishes humans from animals is that humans possess emotions in addition to rationality.

"What should we do with these two little guys? They're unlikely to survive here." Wang Tiancheng, kind-hearted, began to worry about the kittens again.

Wang Tianxiao had already made a plan: "Take it back and raise it. This kind of leopard cat is not much different from an ordinary cat. If you raise it from a kitten, it should be able to be raised... Wait, Tiancheng, stand up quickly and stand behind me."

Wang Tianxiao's body suddenly stiffened, and he looked ahead warily, gripping the old-fashioned rifle tightly in his hand, his veins bulging.
