Chapter 6...

Have you ever played Gan Jiang and Mo Xie? After activating their ultimate skill, a single accurate prediction is all it takes to instantly kill the opponent's backline.

At this moment, I forced myself to calm down. What I was facing was not a leopard, but just a little Lu Ban standing in the back row of the canyon.

And I am no longer myself; I am Gan Jiang and Mo Xie, the warriors with the highest magic damage in the Rift. This Lu Ban is merely trying to confuse me with his positioning; I must find his weakness!

Just then, the leopard was unsure where I would strike with the stick. It was hesitant and wanted to shift its position when a familiar sensation traveled through its retina and rapidly back to its brain.

Before the brain even issues a command, the hand instinctively moves.

Predicting when a max-level Gan Jiang will unleash his ultimate!

"die!"

I shouted, moved the stick slightly to the left, and then slammed it down. A muffled thud followed by a leopard's mournful howl from below, then a continuous rustling sound as we plummeted downwards.

The continuous rustling sound didn't bring me joy. Instead, my heart sank – oh no! This leopard hadn't let go of the tree trunk; it had slid down while clinging to it!

Soon, my guess was confirmed. That familiar rustling sound rose again, and this time it seemed to be moving even faster than before. The leopard was clearly enraged by the pain and pain it had caused from its own blow.

When I saw that climbing figure again through the moonlight, I was filled with rage. This time, I wouldn't let you be so lucky. I'll poke one of your eyeballs out, or you won't know why the flowers are so red!

But misfortunes never come singly; fate played a cruel joke on me. The moon, which had been shining brightly, was dragged away by a dark cloud to go on a date.

The last glimmer of light vanished instantly. My vision was plunged into darkness, and the leopard's silhouette completely disappeared into the night.

Seemingly sensing its growing advantage, the leopard climbed even more vigorously. I could hear the swishing sound of it climbing upwards; it was no longer a leopard, it was the King of Hell beckoning to me.

Now I can only rely on my hearing to poke randomly downwards. I can predict the opponent's trajectory with my eyes, but damn it, which hero in the Rift can predict the opponent's position by listening to sounds?

Soon, the heavy panting grew closer and closer, and I could even feel my hammock swaying slightly. That guy had actually managed to wobble up the branch I was on!

I can't let it come any closer. That branch isn't far from my net bed; it only needs a little leverage to leap and pounce on me!

I'm doomed! I'm definitely going to die this time!

Just then, the moon and the dark clouds had finished their entanglement, and the cool moonlight once again shone on the tree canopy.

This time, being closer, I could clearly see the leopard's colorful stripes, and blood was flowing from its forehead.

It wiped the blood from its forehead with its paw, then licked it with its tongue. Its eyes were fixed on me, blazing with fury that seemed ready to reduce me to ashes in the next second!

"Oh shit……"

Holding that stick, facing a real beast head-on, I was still a little scared.

At this moment, my hands are trembling slightly, not because of courage, but because of the fear of wild beasts that is ingrained in humankind.

I swallowed hard, knowing I had one last chance. This was a matter of life and death, and the most thrilling and dangerous game I'd ever played with Gan Jiang.

I'm betting my life on this. If my prediction is right, it dies. If it's wrong, I die!

I think it will definitely use the momentum to pounce directly on my net bed and then tear me to pieces.

I mustered my courage, gripped my skills tightly, and was determined to take a life with every strike – if it wasn't theirs, it was mine!

At that moment, the leopard stared intently at me, its body slightly arched, as it gathered its strength.

I stared nervously into its eyes. We were like two gamblers who had gone all in, betting everything we had, with no room for maneuver!

It leaped up!

I saw a figure flash by, and then I suddenly realized that wild animals have a habit of attacking their prey from behind. It was staring directly at me—it was trying to lull me into a false sense of security!

I turned around abruptly, and that's when the thick tree trunk behind me caught my attention. It had anticipated my prediction; this was its real killing move.

The moment to test your hand speed has arrived!

In those mere fractions of a second, fueled by a surge of adrenaline, I displayed a reaction speed even more terrifying than that of a professional player.

With a twist of the body and a unified waist and stance, the hand and the stick arrive in perfect motion!

With a precise counterattack, I accurately predicted the leopard leaping through the air, and my strike landed squarely on the leopard's throat.

The throat is the Achilles' heel of all animals, and now, with both sides fighting desperately at an accelerated pace, the force must have been terrifying.

With a muffled thud, the unremarkable stick pierced the leopard's throat, and the recoil sent it flying backward.

At this moment, it was fatally wounded, and it had no chance to gain any leverage while its body was in mid-air. All that awaited it were those rows of equally unsharp ground spikes.

However, the treetop was at least fifteen meters above the ground at that moment. If Newton had survived being smashed into a spike under such gravitational acceleration, he would probably be turning in his grave.

With a thud, the leopard landed without making a sound, presumably already fast asleep.

I slumped onto the bunk bed and finally breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, I survived today.

It seems like everything on TV is fabricated; people can escape unscathed from a bear, while I nearly died just from encountering a leopard.

I ate a few more wild fruits to calm myself down, and after that I was wide awake and sat up until dawn.

That was the first time I realized how important fire is to humankind. If I hadn't set up a trap under the tree beforehand, I wouldn't have had even the slightest chance of escaping unscathed today.

I swear, for the rest of the day, I will get the fire going, no matter the cost, because it's a matter of my life.

A new day dawned over the forest; darkness receded, and the sky was beginning to lighten with the first hint of dawn.

The birds on the branches also began to wake up from their slumber, fluttering their wings in preparation for a new day of adventure.

I'm not a bird, so I think it's safer to wait until the sun is fully up and has illuminated every inch of the land before I climb down from the tree. It's always better to be cautious.

The horizon could no longer contain the sun, which was eager to leap out, and a red sun cast its radiant light, illuminating the entire forest.

Only then could I see the scene on the ground clearly; the leopard, as I had expected, was already dead. Its body had also been torn apart by other wild animals, but for some reason, it hadn't been completely taken away. After climbing down the tree, I understood what had happened.
