I kissed her lips. Maybe I was a little excited, or maybe she was nervous. She was trembling all over. I couldn't bear it, so I let her go, coughed and said, "Good night."
She breathed a sigh of relief and timidly responded, "Good night."
Her reaction made me feel like I was committing a crime. I didn't want to do that. I should wait until she was ready. Besides, we were still in the preparation stage for food, clothing, housing and transportation, and we couldn't be self-sufficient yet. If I let her get pregnant at this time, wouldn't it be like asking for her and the baby's life? There was another point that I felt was the most important. I was treating her like this now, and I was looking down on her. She had never said she was my girlfriend, nor had she said she wanted to marry me. If I wanted her, wouldn't it be too disrespectful to her?
Since I plan to spend my whole life with her, I naturally have to consider the matter of status. If we are not married, it would be unfair to her to occupy her body. Therefore, I'd better restrain myself. After the house is built and life is stable, I will find a way to marry her. By then, after I build the ancestral hall and enshrine the spirit tablets of the predecessors of Milongying, I will have a witness.
After all, she is a girl from a scholarly family. It is too disrespectful for me to take her away so hastily. I should have obtained her parents' permission. Now we are trapped on a deserted island with no rescue. This is an objective fact, but it does not mean that we can just end the matter in a hurry. We have to make a compromise and find a way to let the heaven and earth witness it, let our ancestors and elders, and let Senior Li Mufeng, who is half my master, take her as my father-in-law. This can be considered as an excuse.
Yunwen was afraid that I would feel uncomfortable, so she held my face with her hands, looked at me seriously and said, "Zhou Bo, I have already regarded myself as yours. If you want, I will not refuse. Now there are only you and me here, so you don't have to be shy about what you want to do."
I put my hands around her slender waist, looked into her charming eyes, and said, "That's too easy for you. When you become my wife, it won't be too late for us to consummate our marriage. Besides, our lives are not stable yet, and we are still struggling to survive. If you get pregnant, what should we do?"
Her face turned red all the way to her neck, and then she could only hug me tightly, pressing her face against my chest, obviously very shy.
"I'll listen to you." Yunwen's voice was as thin as a mosquito's.
Just like that, the two of us slept together for the first time without any outsiders. Our faces were blushing and our hearts were beating fast, but we didn't dare to do anything. We could only look at each other and comfort each other until late at night. Our excitement subsided a little, and then we felt tired and finally fell asleep.
When I woke up the next day, Yunwen was still lying next to me. I gently stroked her face, enjoying the satisfaction of having such a beauty lying next to me. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at me with a smile, but she covered her mouth all the time, probably because she was afraid that I would smell her bad breath when she woke up.
After washing up and eating something, we began to prepare for the new day's plan. However, I promised Yunwen yesterday that she could go visit Bailu to ease her worries, so after a simple meal, she was ready to leave. I gave her some instructions and also asked her to bring back some edible food. She agreed obediently.
After seeing Yingchun off, I started to prepare my own things. The most important thing today, besides finding something to eat, was to get some stream mud to make red bricks.
For food, I followed the tunnel and took the mechanical "elevator" left by Senior Wang Gang, went up to the coast, and collected a batch of shells, conchs and the like. In addition, I found some stranded fish, so I took them away. Now that the spring tide has risen, I picked up two and a handful of shells, so I put them all in my backpack. After collecting them, I went back to the post station to start the main task of the day.
I first dug a small fire pit on the ground, and then used last night's charcoal to start a fire and began to roast some grass and wood. Then I dug a big pit, and then went to the edge of the spring pool and used a folding engineer shovel to start digging stream mud and clay. After digging, I loaded it into a wheelbarrow, and then transported it here, poured it into the big pit, and then used a stainless steel pot to collect spring water and poured it into the big pit. Then I took off my shoes, rolled up my trouser legs, and began to step back and forth on the water and clay until they were cooked.
Then I picked out all the stones inside and sorted them out from the pit. Then I found four relatively neat pieces of wood, sawed them to make them relatively neat, and then connected them with mortise and tenon technology. It was about one and a half palms long and three-quarters of a palm wide, estimated to be 30cm long, 15cm wide, and two knuckles high, about 2~3 cm.
This is used to make a template. After the template is wetted with water, the clay is put into it. It is then leveled with a piece of wood and the excess is scraped off to form a turning head shape. Since the template has width, the brick is approximately 28cm long, 13cm wide and 2~3cm high.
After making a brick, I put it on the ground to dry. After making the next brick, I spread the ashes from the burned wood on the ground to stick the bricks to the floor. Before long, the shed was full of bricks. After a while, I stacked the slightly dried bricks next to the fire, and they would soon be burned dry.
After it is completely dried and turns red, it becomes a red brick. This kind of brick is extremely waterproof and will not deform even if it is soaked for a long time. It is excellent for building houses. Thus, the raw materials for the entire house are made. The next step is to repeat the process and make bricks in batches. There is a downstream area where the spring pool in the backyard flows down. In order not to damage the spring pool too much, I went downstream to dig more clay.
Soon, there were more and more red bricks. They were all stacked in a criss-cross pattern, two vertically and two horizontally, and placed in opposite corners. After working for half a day, I had made almost two and a half piles. Each pile had two rows, and the height was below the waist, which is about 110 cm. If a brick is 2.5 cm and there are two in a row, then there are about 90 bricks in a row, and two rows must have 180 bricks. Two and a half piles are about 450 bricks, which is my limit.
By the afternoon, the sun was at its highest and I could no longer move, so I took a break. I just felt strange that Yunwen had been away for so long. Did I scare her last night or something happened?
But just as I thought of this, she came back, and she brought Sanfu back with her. After tying it up, she didn't even look at the many red bricks I had made. She just looked absent-minded, until I came in front of her and she looked up and saw my face. Then she woke up from her trance and was startled.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked.
She shook her head and said, "I went to the castle to see them, but the gates were locked and I didn't see anything. But I heard the hyenas' voices, so I went to the deep valley area and saw Yingchun and Bailu there. I was so scared that I turned around and left."
"They're in the hyena territory, and the hyenas are in the castle?" I asked.
"Well, and it seems that the two of them are not prisoners. I don't know what the trick is." Yunwen said.
Having said that, I also fell into deep thought.
However, when she saw how many red bricks I had used, her attention was immediately diverted. She couldn't help but praise me and say that I was capable. Then we drew a rough design on the ground. Yunwen remembered what this place looked like before, so we designed it according to the previous scale. The house covers an area of about 200 square meters and is a duplex building. There is a courtyard outside the door and a backyard pool at the back door. She remembered the position of the door beams and marked them all completely.
This is a big project, but if you work hard, it will definitely be great when it’s completed!
So after taking a quick look at the farmland and making sure there was nothing wrong with it, we continued to work with the bricks. After Yunwen learned how to do it, she did it herself. Although she was much slower than me, it freed up my hands. While I was taking a break, I also thought about the foundation and the cement that would follow. These all required some lime to increase their viscosity, and the places with more lime were the rocky area next to the Huoquan old house, and these shells.
I have to go again tomorrow to get more.
