Zhou Zhan was listening to his subordinates' report: The Queen wants to transfer Li Chenxi to the Yunmeng Empire.
Zhou Zhan couldn't understand why, but he hadn't been back for a month, so he decided to go with Li Chenxi. "Go tell Li Chenxi to get ready so we can go together tomorrow."
"Yes!" The guard acknowledged the order and withdrew.
Inside the small kitchen, Li Chenxi, wearing an apron, was focused on making a cake. Thinking that today was Hanhan's birthday, she was determined to give her a surprise tonight!
"Report!" a guard's voice rang out from outside the door.
Li Chenxi wiped his hands and quickly went out. "What is it?" He didn't like others entering their room.
"The Queen has ordered that you be transferred to the Yunmeng Empire. Commander Zhou wants you to prepare to depart with you tomorrow," the guard announced loudly.
"Okay, I understand!" Li Chenxi was also puzzled. Why was he suddenly transferred? But she didn't dare to delay and quickly handed over her work to her deputy.
As night fell, looking at the girl who had remained unchanged for ten years, he felt both happy and bittersweet. He was happy because they were truly happy together. Hanhan had a gentle personality, never threw tantrums, and liked to accommodate people. But every time he tried to get closer, she would run away in fright, making him feel like a failure. He could clearly sense that she liked him too, but they could never take things further.
"It smells so good! I can smell the cake from this far away!" Hanhan burst through the door and saw Li Chenxi sitting there in a daze. "What are you thinking about?"
"I'm going to the Yunmeng Empire tomorrow," he said, then looked at the girl. "Hanhan, if you can't bear to part with me, I won't go!"
"Oh, go ahead! Mom might need your help!" she said with a sweet smile. "If I miss your cooking, I'll come see you."
Li Chenxi sighed deeply, "Hanhan, don't you have any romantic feelings for me at all?"
“Yes! You’re a man and I’m a woman, isn’t our relationship just a romantic one?” Hanhan looked at the man earnestly.
"I want to kiss you." Li Chenxi felt he should try harder.
Suddenly, the girl leaned closer and asked, "Don't you think that kind of thing is disgusting?"
Li Chenxi suddenly felt her heart race, but hearing her innocent words was like being doused with cold water, "I like you, don't you like me?"
"I like it! I think we're great as we are. If you want something else, go find someone else!" Hanhan resolutely turned and left.
It happened again. Li Chenxi felt so tired. He really couldn't bear to give up. After more than ten years of pursuing her, he still couldn't get into her heart.
