Chapter 4 Encountering a Mutant Cat

Someone just posted a picture of a meteorite on WeChat Moments. The road is closed to traffic now, so I can only walk. Although I can run without any problem in my current physical condition, there are obviously more people on the road today. I don't want to stand out, so I can only walk faster when there are no people around.

They walked for more than half an hour, and around four o'clock, they saw a meteorite more than two meters tall inside the cordon. Although it wasn't very big, it wasn't small either. Looking around, they saw that there was no one watching, which proved that the secret of the meteorite had not been revealed!

After waiting for another half hour, there was no one left on the road. There were indeed two cameras nearby. Whether they were working or not, they had to be destroyed. She didn't want to expose herself.

Leng Fengmei picked up a fragment of meteorite and threw it at the camera...

With a "crack!" it shattered beyond repair!

"Smack!" Dad also picked up a stone and threw it at the other side.

Only then did the group dare to walk over.

"Huh! There's no response!" Leng Fengmei tried again, but still nothing!

Ah! So not all meteorites have this!

My inner voice was practically pounding with anger. I should have tried it first! Waiting half an hour for nothing! I was so careless!

"What if it gets absorbed by someone else?" Song Chengyang asked.

"That's possible!" Leng Fengmei said, looking into the distance. "Let's keep looking and we'll find out."

So the family of four headed due north, where there was a park—"Swan Lake Park".

The area was extremely large, but since it was still undeveloped and it was winter, hardly anyone went there. The group decided to try their luck there.

When they arrived there, another twenty minutes had passed. Although the night was pitch black, everything was still clearly visible!

The initial stage of superpowers is enhanced physical fitness. Even Hanhan took off her glasses, and Leng Fengmei's eyesight became even stronger, making even the darkest night as clear as day.

They searched quickly; the area was too large, the snow was knee-deep, and the trees were tangled, leaving deep footprints with every step.

We walked for more than ten minutes, but didn't see any large ones. We did see quite a few small ones, but unfortunately, there was no energy fluctuation!

Looking at the lake covered in ice and snow, I thought there was nothing left, but when I walked to the middle of the lake, I found a round, disc-shaped meteorite hidden in a huge ice pit.

I don't know how tall it is, but it's more than twenty steps in diameter. Dad measured it specifically!

The joy they felt was beyond words!

"Let's begin!" Leng Fengmei said, bending down to start absorbing the nutrients.

Without being urged, the father and his two daughters did as instructed.

A familiar feeling washed over them once more, their bodies surging with energy, and a powerful energy storm had formed above them!

The energy hurricane swept the snowflakes up and landed on the family of four, allowing the four, who were already extremely hot, to breathe a sigh of relief!

At first, Xin Xin was reluctant to persevere, but Leng Fengmei told her very firmly that she had to persevere to the limit, otherwise, when we run, you will not be able to catch up with us, and when we can fly, you can only walk on the ground!

Xin Xin had seen her mother's abilities, and although she was envious, she still felt wronged!

Leng Fengmei gently persuaded, "Don't you want a pet? If you insist, Mom will buy you one."

Two and a half hours had passed in the blink of an eye. Hanhan reached her limit, jumped out of the crater, and lay on the ice. "It's so refreshing!"

Then Xin's dad jumped out too, and a moment later Xin Xin rolled over and jumped out as well.

After a long time, Leng Fengmei absorbed the last bit of energy and jumped out, secretly delighted—she felt stronger!

It was 8:10. After walking around again and confirming that there was nothing left, the group decided to explore other places before heading home.

But a piercing meow shattered the silence of the night, and two flashing green lights appeared ahead!

"What is that?" Song Chengyang asked, puzzled.

"It's a cat fighting with something!" Leng Fengmei gazed into the distance. "You guys wait here for me, I'll go take a look!"

As I sped along, I could feel the surrounding scenery rushing past me. This feeling of gradually getting stronger was just so exhilarating!

Before she even got close, she could see clearly that a black cat over two meters tall was fighting a mouse over two meters long, locked in a fierce battle with no clear winner.

Just then, several more red-eyed mice darted out and charged straight at the cat...

Leng Fengmei thought to herself, "This cat is doomed!"

The cat realized it was in danger, leaped up, and bit the mouse's neck tightly, tearing the thick neck in two, and blood gushed out!

Even with its face covered in blood, the big cat bent down and pulled a fist-sized energy stone from the rat's abdomen. It was the same color as the energy stone found in the meteorite.

Leng Fengmei was already astonished. The animals had mutated, and they also had energy stones in their bodies?

Just when she thought the big cat would leave after finishing its meal, she saw that its wounds were healing at a speed visible to the naked eye, and the big cat's body had even grown bigger!

Leng Fengmei gasped in shock. This speed of mutation... how could anyone survive!

Two mice opened their mouths wide and bit at it. Several mice then fought fiercely, each bite leaving a bloody hole. Before long, they were all bitten to death by the cat, which had already recovered.

Then it used its claws to scoop out one of the crystal cores and swallowed it before slowly leaving.

Leng Fengmei felt that the cat had just glanced at her...

Watching the big cat leave, she stepped out from behind the tree, rushed to the dead rat, and used her dagger to take out the other crystal core. This thing is edible, and eating it can heal wounds. What would happen if a person ate it? Leng Fengmei was full of questions.

Just as I was about to turn around, I saw the big black cat that had clearly walked away turn back and stare at me with its emerald green eyes.

Leng Fengmei's hair stood on end as she watched the large black cat lazily lying not far away, its eerie eyes sending chills down her spine!

Leng Fengmei chickened out, took out the crystal core, held it up, and showed her most sincere smile: "Do you still want it?"

The big black cat lazily stretched and licked its fur, ignoring him completely.

"My goodness, what an imperial air!" Leng Fengmei couldn't help but mentally complain.

Suddenly! Terrified screams came from afar…

"ah…"

"Mother……"
