Chapter 114 Mutant Wolf Pack

Lin Ruo parked the car again a few dozen meters away from the convoy, got dressed, opened the car door and got out.

She took out two compressed down comforters from the several huge backpacks she had brought that morning and delivered them to Afu and Ashou in the back carriage.

Although they had long fur, the carriage was still open at the bottom, and she was worried that they would get cold.

At this moment, half of the carriage was occupied by several mutated beasts that had been brought up earlier, while Afu and Ashou obediently lay in the other half of the rear carriage.

As soon as the car stopped, they jumped off and circled around Lin Ruo.

Lin Ruo jumped onto the carriage with the blankets in her arms, spread them out, and then jumped off the carriage.

As Lin Ruo thawed the wild boar meat and the smell of blood filled the air, she took advantage of the darkness to take out two slices of watermelon from her spatial storage and stuffed them into Afu and Ashou's big mouths. The refreshing aroma of the watermelon was overwhelmed by the smell of blood from the wild boar meat. They were far from the convoy and would not be discovered.

Ah Fu and Ah Shou happily ate the watermelon in their mouths. They hadn't eaten any fruit at noon today, so it tasted especially delicious now.

After Ah Shou finished eating, he still wanted more, so Lin Ruo had to sneak two more pieces from her spatial storage and stuff them into their mouths. Ah Fu and Ah Shou chewed a couple of times and swallowed them with a gulp.

Lin Ruo patted Afu and Ashou's front legs, "Go and go find some wood and branches."

Afu and Ashou ran out quickly, but they didn't go far. They started plucking at nearby trees, and with their tall, strong bodies and great strength, they almost broke the trees.

Once they pulled the branches back, Lin Ruo used her ice blade to cut them off, used her water-based abilities to drain the moisture from the branches, and then set them on fire.

The campfire burned brighter and brighter, and soon the area where they had parked became warm. Lin Ruo then took out their food bowls and placed them next to the campfire. With the warmth of the campfire, the meat in the bowls would freeze much more slowly.

Lin Ruo then thawed the wild boar meat that had been refrozen and cut two large bowls for Afu and Ashou to eat. Afu and Ashou lowered their heads and began to eat.

Lin Ruo used her water-based supernatural ability to wash her hands, took out a few flatbreads from the carriage, and ate them hastily in front of the campfire, thus solving her dinner problem.

After Afu and Ashou finished eating, she fed them lake water. Afu and Ashou didn't drink any water all afternoon, and each of them drank half a basin before stopping.

After eating and drinking their fill, Afu nudged Lin Ruo's palm with its big head, while Ashou's big tail rubbed against Lin Ruo's arm.

Knowing they were just being affectionate, Lin Ruo chuckled and patted them gently to soothe them. "Just bear with it a little longer. When we get home, I'll roast some mutated beast meat for you, okay?"

Mentioning this made Afu and Ashou happy, and their big tails swept back and forth on the ground.

Since Lin Ruo made roasted mutated beast meat once, she hasn't made it for them again because they ate too much last time. Lin Ruo roasted it for a whole afternoon until her hands were sore, but Afu and Ashou were still around her, not full.

Lin Ruo tried to avoid it at all costs, but Afu and Ashou couldn't forget the taste.

After finishing their meal, Afu and Ashou jumped back into the car and lay motionless on the thick down comforter. She extinguished the campfire, as the light would easily attract mutated beasts. If it weren't for making Afu and Ashou more comfortable while they ate, she wouldn't have lit the campfire. Then she turned and went back to her driver's seat.

There was a small light in the driver's seat. She sat down, turned on the heater, and the heater blew out, slowly raising the temperature inside the driver's seat.

She channeled her spiritual energy into the space, where A-Liu was idly weaving with her long willow branches. It was unexpected that A-Liu had such a talent for rope weaving.

She also prepared double the amount of mutated beef and a large watermelon for A-Liu. When A-Liu saw the food bowl that suddenly appeared, she lifted the willow branch and searched around the fortress. When she did not see Lin Ruo, she stuck the willow branch into the meat and began to eat.

Lin Ruo gently shook her head, inspected all the plants and animals in the space, put all the unfertilized eggs in the breeding area into the still space, added feed to the automatic feeder, and added a lot of green vegetables before withdrawing her mental energy from the space.

In less than half an hour, the cab became warm and cozy. She turned off the cab lights and the heater, covered herself with two layers of down comforters, and drifted off to sleep.

Behind her were Afu and Ashou. She knew that one of them must still be awake, so she felt at ease.

It was an extremely cold night, with the temperature dropping to -80 degrees Celsius late at night, and the wind was howling outside.

"Woof woof!" Suddenly, Ah Shou barked loudly, and Lin Ruo immediately opened her eyes, rapidly spreading her spiritual power.

Meanwhile, the soldiers in the other vehicles also became alert, but the soldiers in charge of night watch in the convoy, wearing night vision goggles, looked around but found nothing.

The soldiers reported over the walkie-talkie, "Commander, nothing unusual has been found."

But just a few dozen meters away, Afu and Ashou had already jumped off the car and were howling into the distance.

Ye Lin immediately became alert. Compared to the naked eye, he trusted the two mutated dogs more. He quickly shouted into the walkie-talkie, "Everyone, be on alert!"

In an instant, everyone on the bus grabbed their weapons, but no one got off because it was too cold outside.

Staying outside for a long time can really freeze you to death.

Lin Ruo's mental energy detected a wolf pack 1,000 meters away. There were dozens of wild wolves, each over 3 meters tall, and they were rapidly closing in on them.

She then turned on the walkie-talkie and said, "There's a pack of wolves about 1,000 meters away, numbering around several dozen. They'll be at the camp in two minutes."

Upon hearing this, Ye Lin immediately made arrangements for the battle. Following Ye Lin's instructions, the soldiers quickly organized their weapons and were ready for battle in less than a minute.
