Chapter 13, No. 12, South Alley Street

Night had fallen, and the streets were quiet, save for the occasional chirping of cicadas and insects.

Not far away, number 12 was lit with a dim yellow light, looking like a giant beast waiting to devour its prey.

Lin Ruo carefully examined the door of number 12. There were seven or eight security cameras up and down, showing her caution. She walked straight to the door of number 12 without stopping, and before she could knock, the door opened from the inside.

A tall, muscular man walked out. He exuded a rough and ruthless aura and had tattoos on his body, clearly a man who had been through a rough life.

He looked Lin Ruo up and down, and was taken aback at first. He subconsciously felt that she looked familiar, but he couldn't remember where he had seen her before. He looked at her a few more times and saw that Lin Ruo was fair-skinned and delicate. How could such a girl be so bold as to come here alone?

Suspicion welled up in my mind, and I subconsciously looked behind her.

Lin Ruo remained still, quietly allowing him to examine her, as if she were already very familiar with this scene.

After a moment, the man noticed nothing amiss and stepped aside to let Lin Ruo enter the courtyard.

"Come in." He turned and walked in first, and Lin Ruo followed without hesitation.

Upon entering the courtyard, a two-story villa stood before them. A young man stood at the entrance and said to Lin Ruo, "Come in."

Lin Ruo followed the young man into the villa and saw a middle-aged man sitting on the sofa in the living room, looking at a newspaper in his hand. The man was not tall and was thin, but his face did not show any shrewdness and even had a bit of a scholarly air.

"I heard that Old Jin recommended you. You want to buy oil?"

Lin Ruo nodded, walked over, and sat down on the sofa opposite her. "I've ordered a large quantity."

"Oh?" The man looked up at Lin Ruo, then a glint flashed in his eyes. "How many do you want?"

"Five hundred tons of gasoline and five hundred tons of diesel." Lin Ruo considered the number of oil drums in the space. After storing this thousand tons, there should still be quite a few oil drums left.

"You want a thousand tons?" The man was surprised. Why would a restaurant owner need so much gasoline and diesel? "What do you intend to use it for?"

A cold glint flashed across Lin Ruo's face, and the aura of a superhuman emanated from her. The water molecules in the surrounding air moved slowly according to a special pattern. In an instant, the young man standing next to the man tensed up, and his hand unconsciously reached for his waist.

"May I ask you, does this question comply with the rules of the black market? Or are you trying to double-cross us?"

As Lin Ruo spoke, her eyes flashed with sharp light as she stared intently at the man in front of her, and an immense pressure emanated from her, like a mountain pressing down on him.

Sweat began to bead on the man's forehead, and his face grew paler. The woman stared at him as if he were being watched by a ferocious beast. Based on his intuition, honed from years of navigating the dark underworld, he sensed danger! Extreme danger!

"It was my oversight; I was just purely curious."

Upon hearing this, Lin Ruo's imposing aura vanished, replaced by a harmless smile, like a girl next door.

"Actually, it's not that I can't say it. Mr. Jin should have told you that I'm going to open a chain of restaurants, which will use a lot of oil."

"..."

The man secretly wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, looking at Lin Ruo with a complicated expression. If she didn't want to talk, she didn't have to; even she herself didn't believe such a fake story.

"Since you're ordering a large quantity, I can give you a discount. It's originally 12 yuan per liter, but I'll give it to you for 10 yuan."

The man thought to himself, "Since you're trying to scare me, don't blame me for messing with you. I'll teach her a lesson."

He was just waiting to see the little girl fail to negotiate and become helpless against him, but to his surprise, Lin Ruo actually agreed directly.

“Okay, when can you deliver?” Lin Ruo knew that the other party had made a lot of money, but this was the only channel she had. She didn’t have time to go abroad, so she was already very lucky to be able to buy it. Besides, the price was within her acceptable range.

The man was taken aback, not expecting Lin Ruo to be so straightforward. "You need a lot, so it will take some time to prepare the connections. Ten days, I guess."

Lin Ruo nodded, the deal was done, but she didn't pay a deposit. These people in the black market don't care about credibility; double-crossing is common. She didn't think the other party was honest.

After the burly man saw Lin Ruo out, the young man behind him frowned. "Just sell them to her like that? There are so many, and we'll need to mobilize a lot of connections. Should we..."

As the young man finished speaking, his fingers twitched slightly, revealing the unfinished business he wanted to express.

“No,” the man shook his head, recalling the dangerous feeling he had when Lin Ruo stared at him earlier, sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, “Do you know who this woman is?”

"Who?" the young man asked, puzzled.

"The 'plain-faced Rakshasa' that's been all the rage in the underworld lately, I originally thought it was just a big name, just some little girl. But when she unleashed her aura just now, I suddenly realized that this person is no ordinary character." The man pinched his brow and said helplessly.

"It's better to avoid trouble. We don't need to make enemies with her. Besides, she's sensible. We made a good profit from this deal."

The young man recalled the feeling that had made his hair stand on end just now. In his ten years as an assassin, this was the first time he had ever experienced such a feeling.

He had heard about the Plain-Faced Rakshasa before, and originally scoffed at it, thinking that any assassin could control himself so easily. But just now, he was genuinely afraid, which was fatal for an assassin.

He swallowed his words, tacitly agreeing with the man's statement.

Lin Ruo had already left. Since the other party didn't bother her, she naturally wouldn't cause any trouble. She drove home, took a nice shower, and went straight to sleep.

The night seemed to pass quickly. The next morning, Lin Ruo exercised as usual, but this time she added some auxiliary equipment, wearing 30-kilogram weight rings on her hands. After training for two hours, Lin Ruo's physical strength was completely exhausted.
