Chapter 15 The Duck That Was Already in Their Mouth

Lin Ruo made a plan in her mind and realized that she would be spending the entire day of tomorrow, except for her exercise time, in the warehouse receiving goods.

"This is truly a happy burden," Lin Ruo muttered to herself as she turned off her phone and drifted off to sleep.

When the sun shines on the earth, the next day arrives as promised.

Lin Ruo was like a busy little bee, bustling in and out of the warehouse. When the last batch of deliveries left the warehouse, Lin Ruo put the goods into her spatial storage. She raised her hand to look at her watch, and it was already seven o'clock in the evening.

She only ate a few steamed buns in the warehouse at noon, and thinking about this made her stomach start to rumble.

Lin Ruo quickly drove home, took a quick shower, took out barbecue and drinks from her spatial storage, ate them quickly, and then lay down on the bed to catch her breath.

She had only been lying down for a short while when she remembered that she hadn't practiced her supernatural abilities today. She sighed and got up. Just as she sat cross-legged, she heard her phone ring. She took out her phone, and the caller ID showed Zhao Li, Lin Ruo's roommate from college. They had a decent relationship.

However, she returned to her hometown after graduation, and the last time the two contacted each other was at graduation.

"Hello?"

A soft voice came from the other end of the phone, "Lin Ruo, are you in City A right now?"

Lin Ruo raised an eyebrow slightly, her tone somewhat indifferent, "Is there something you need?"

Zhao Li paused, somewhat embarrassed, "I just wanted to ask, since our class is having a reunion, I'd like to go to City A ahead of time and stay at your place for the night, is that alright?"

Lin Ruo frowned. Everyone in the dormitory knew about her parents' unexpected death, but they all chose to ignore it and didn't even offer a word of comfort. She could understand that, after all, they had graduated and she couldn't force them to contact her.

But this is just a class reunion, and Zhao Li wants to come early and stay at her home, where both her parents have just passed away? Isn't that inconsiderate?

"I'm sorry, it's not convenient at home." Lin Ruo's voice turned cold, her tone completely flat. She didn't want to compromise herself to please someone just because of some unfounded classmate friendship.

Zhao Li seemed to sense Lin Ruo's emotions. She paused for a moment, knowing that she had gone too far. But she hadn't just come to the party; she mainly wanted to see the class monitor. She really liked the class monitor, and if she missed this opportunity, there would be no chance for her and the class monitor to ever get together again.

She was only really close to Lin Ruo in City A, which is why she made the call despite her reluctance.

"Well... that's alright, I'll just stay at a hotel," Zhao Li said, trying to ease the awkwardness by changing the subject. "Lin Ruo, will you be going to the party?"

"I'm not going."

Lin Ruo's irritation intensified. According to the timeline, her parents had just passed away. How could she be so careless as to attend a class reunion at this time?

She felt like she must be crazy to answer the call, and immediately tried to hang up.

"I heard that the class monitor and the most handsome guy in the department will be going this time. Are you really not going?" Zhao Li asked with some regret, but she also knew that it was indeed inconvenient for Lin Ruo.

Lin Ruo paused as she hung up the phone. The most handsome guy in the department? Isn't that Lu Qi? He's going too?

"Lu Qi?"

Zhao Li was slightly taken aback. Lin Ruo actually remembered Lu Qi's name. Then, thinking that Lin Ruo might have feelings for Lu Qi, she smiled ambiguously, "Yeah, yeah, he'll be there too. Are you coming?"

Lin Ruo's lips curled into a cold smile. In her previous life, she hadn't attended the gathering because her parents had just passed away, so she hadn't seen Lu Qi at all. She never expected to have the opportunity to meet him again so soon in this life.

"Lu Qi, it's been a long time," Lin Ruo said, her smile deepening.

"Great, I'll go too. When is the party?"

"It's at 7 PM the day after tomorrow, at Juhong Building." Thinking Lin Ruo liked Lu Qi, Zhao Li kept explaining to her, "I heard Lu Qi stayed on at the university, that's really amazing. I heard he just broke up with his girlfriend..."

"Okay, I got it. See you at the party then." Lin Ruo hung up the phone before Zhao Li could finish speaking. She didn't have time to listen to such nonsense. Did she not know about Lu Qi? It's just that she's been too busy since her rebirth, so busy that she's even forgotten about her former teammates.

Now that Lu Qi has come to her of his own accord, how could she let him down?

When she came to her senses, she realized that the delivery time was approaching. Lin Ruo picked up her car keys, drove back to the factory warehouse, opened the door, drove the car into the warehouse, jumped out of the car, took out the oil drums she had prepared in advance from her storage space, and neatly stacked them together.

After getting ready, she turned around and went back to the car, activating her supernatural abilities to adjust her state. Her water-based supernatural abilities circulated throughout her body, and Lin Ruo's overall condition was adjusted to its peak.

Seeing that they hadn't arrived yet, Lin Ruoshi simply took out his phone and started playing games. He wanted to play as many online games as possible while he still had internet access, because he wouldn't be able to play them after the apocalypse.

Time flew by while playing the game. Suddenly, Lin Ruo's ears twitched. She heard the loud roar of a truck. After estimating the distance in her mind, she quickly swiped her fingers on her phone. The game, which was supposed to drag on for a while longer, ended up with the enemy's tower collapsing quickly because of Lin Ruo's skillful maneuvering.

Lin Ruo ignored her teammates' request to team up again and quit the game. Just then, the truck stopped at the entrance of the factory warehouse.

Lin Ruo opened the door and got out of the car. As soon as he got out, he saw 29 huge oil tankers. More than a dozen people jumped down from the tankers. These people had very stable stances and were obviously trained.

Each tanker truck has a capacity of about 35 tons, so unloading will take a long time. However, if the other party causes any trouble, she can just take them all out and then all 29 tanker trucks will be hers, without having to pay a penny. Perfect.
