Chapter 168 Sea Beasts Land

Lin Ruo glanced at them, then turned and went into the training room. He had harvested quite a few crystal cores today: a level 2 water-type crystal core, a level 2 space-type crystal core, and a level 3 ice-type crystal core. He could absorb all three of them.

Although her water-based abilities have been steadily improving over this period of time, with these two crystal cores, her upgrade time will definitely be greatly shortened. Thinking about her current state of water-based abilities, she lowered her eyes, thinking that perhaps these two crystal cores could allow her water-based abilities to be upgraded directly.

She sat cross-legged on a futon on the ground, with two blue crystal cores hovering above her head. She probed the crystal cores with her spiritual power, and streams of light blue energy quickly converged towards Lin Ruo's forehead.

The water-based crystal core in Lin Ruo's brain was radiating light, rapidly absorbing this energy. At the same time, some energy was not absorbed by the crystal core, but flowed slowly through her body, gradually changing her physique. The cells in her body were being rapidly replenished with energy.

This feeling was incredibly comfortable for Lin Ruo, like lying in a hot spring, somewhat similar to her healing abilities.

The whole process took two hours. Absorbing the level 2 crystal core dug out of the mutated beast only takes a few minutes, but absorbing these two water-type crystal cores took two hours.

When Lin Ruo had finished absorbing the two crystal cores, she opened her eyes, still looking somewhat reluctant to part with them.

"The energy in the level 2 or 3 crystal core is still too little." Lin Ruo slightly sensed the state of her water-type ability and could clearly feel that the energy in the crystal core was already full, but it had not yet been upgraded. She clicked her tongue and decided to go out more often, maybe she could meet a few more water-type ability users.

Then she took out the space-type crystal core and probed it with her spiritual power. She checked what was inside and the result made Lin Ruo frown. Apart from a very small amount of living supplies, the rest of the contents were all corpses, many of which were incomplete. Thinking of the fact that the group of people had eaten people before, she closed her eyes. This was probably the food they had left for her.

She temporarily threw all the corpses into the still space, and after absorbing the energy of the crystal core, she threw them all into the mutated forest.

After cleaning the spatial crystal core again, she began to absorb it, following the same steps, except that the spatial energy would not improve Lin Ruo's physique.

Four hours had passed since both crystal cores were fully absorbed. A white light flashed in Lin Ruo's eyes, and her spatial domain expanded, still reaching 500 meters. Lin Ruo withdrew her domain; now, what was restricting the range of her spatial domain was no longer her superpower, but her mental power.

Only when her mental strength increases can the range of her spatial domain expand.

She got up and walked to the window of the training room, pulled back the curtains, and looked out. It was almost dawn, but the sky outside was still gloomy, and the rain was still falling. The raindrops hit the glass, leaving streaks of water.

It's unclear when this heavy rain will stop. Ah Liu's fruit should ripen in a few days. Thinking of the intense pain she felt when absorbing the fruit last time, she frowned. For safety's sake, she definitely needs to absorb the fruit's energy inside the fortress.

So... we can't rush to find Li Ke yet. We have to wait until the rain stops and we've absorbed the fruit before we go.

She yawned; it was already her usual bedtime, so she quickly stood up.

When they entered the living room, the TV was still on, and Afu and the other two were engrossed in watching it. None of them noticed that only two of the air conditioners in the house were still running, and the ice in the ice basin had already melted.

Lin Ruo sighed. It was rare that they didn't mind the heat. She first used her water-based abilities to fill several large ice basins. The ice basins, piled up like small mountains, quickly lowered the temperature in the room by several degrees. Only then did she go to replace the air conditioner's battery. By the time she finished all that, the episode of the cartoon on TV had just finished airing.

The three of them seemed to have been released from their seal and pounced on Lin Ruo. Without hesitation, Lin Ruo quickly dodged them.

Ignoring Ah Shou's aggrieved look, Lin Ruo darted to the side and said, "Stop fooling around. Look, it's already dawn. You've been watching TV all night. Aren't you tired?"

Afu and Ashou turned to look at the sky outside the window and found that the sun was covered by clouds, making it look gloomy, but it was indeed already daylight.

Because it was raining, the air was even more humid, and even the fortress was not spared. Lin Ruo felt as if water was about to drip from the surroundings. The fortress only had its screen door open, and the windows were all closed, yet it still had this much humidity. One can only imagine what it must be like outside.

Lin Ruo closed the screen door, then activated her water-based superpower. Water molecules throughout the fortress began to gather in Lin Ruo's palm, and soon a huge water sphere appeared in her hand.

Looking at the enormous water ball in my hand, which was as big as a millstone, I was surprised to find that there was so much water in the air.

Lin Ruo threw the water ball into the freshwater pool in the space, and the air in the fortress became a little drier.

She turned to look at the weather outside, her brows furrowing slightly. Without the scorching sun baking the earth from above, she feared the amphibious mutant beasts in the water would become restless.

After preparing breakfast for the three of them, Lin Ruo cooked some dumplings for herself and then went to sleep. Afu and Ashou were tired after being active all night, so they lay down next to the ice basin and fell fast asleep, and the whole fortress fell into silence.

...

It's unclear how much moisture accumulated in the sky over the past four months under the scorching sun, but the heavy rain lasted for three days straight and showed no signs of abating.

The water level at the foot of the mountain continued to rise, while the temperature dropped somewhat, with the nighttime temperature only reaching the forties, but it was still quite muggy.
