Chapter 19 Heading to City C

When Lin Ruo got home, she was really hungry. The first thing she did was to put the braised pork in a pot and cook the rice.

Only then did I start cleaning up, and then I practiced boxing and swordsmanship in the living room.

When practicing with the knife, she would also tie a weight belt to the blade, plus a 50-kilogram weight ring on her wrist, which made Lin Ruo feel heavy.

Lin Ruo was covered in sweat, immersed in the profound mysteries of fist and sword techniques. Each time she practiced these techniques, she gained different insights, a feeling that was captivating.

Two hours passed in the blink of an eye, and it was already past nine o'clock at night.

Lin Ruo smelled the rich aroma of meat, and her stomach rumbled. She took a shower first.

When she stepped out of the bathroom feeling refreshed, the braised pork was already cooked, and the rice was kept warm in the rice cooker. She immediately started eating, holding the inner pot of the rice cooker.

The braised pork was stewed until tender and melted in her mouth, rich but not greasy. The broth was plentiful, and she ate half a pot of it with perfectly cooked rice.

There was still half a pot of braised pork left. She put the rest into a takeout box and stored it in her spatial storage. She could save the food she made for later, so it wouldn't go to waste.

After putting all the dishes into the dishwasher, Lin Ruo lay on the bed and sighed comfortably. It's so comfortable to lie in bed.

She picked up her phone and scrolled through today's messages. There were already hundreds of unread messages in the university class group, all talking about Lu Qi fainting at the class reunion.

Do you know why Lu Qi fainted?

“I know, I know. I have a relative in that hospital. I heard that he has three blocked coronary arteries and needs bypass surgery.”

"According to the squad leader, his leg was shriveled up like a dried-up corpse for some reason. The doctor said it was a rare disease and he had to be amputated immediately. They had Lu Qi's parents sign the consent form and he was taken into the operating room right away."

"What?! Lu Qi is only in his early twenties, and he's already had an amputation and open-chest surgery. What will happen to him in the future?"

"After the amputation, he'll be a cripple. Even with a ligament bridge, what can he do? How will Lu Qi work in the future? Won't his future be ruined?"

"That's because he didn't know how to take good care of his body. He changed girlfriends one after another, and his body was already completely drained."

"Sigh, what a pity..."

Lin Ruo was in a very good mood when she saw this. She was happy just thinking about Lu Qi's current miserable state.

She then left the class group chat, ignoring the messages from the class monitor and Zhao Li, closed her eyes, and fell asleep instantly; she had to catch a flight early the next morning.

The next morning, before leaving, she looked around her home, the place where she had lived with her parents for more than 20 years.

After thinking for a moment, she decided to put some memorable items into the space, as these held memories that she couldn't leave behind.

She only kept some essential furniture and bedding; she put all the appliances away in her storage space. Even if Grandma Wu came to live there in the future, there would be no electricity by then, so the appliances wouldn't be usable.

The space is unlimited; you can put whatever you want in there.

After packing, Lin Ruoruo only had a backpack left. Finally, she took out the door she had bought earlier from her spatial storage and replaced the door in her house with a bulletproof door and a security lock.

The commotion was quite loud, and some of the neighbors who happened to be there stopped to watch for a while.

"Xiao Ru can even install doors? You're so talented!" The auntie from across the street greeted her with a smile from her doorway.

While working, Lin Ruo laughed and said, "There's no other way. A couple of days ago, the police called me and said that my uncle's family is not in good mental condition. They told me to be careful. I was thinking of replacing the door with a more secure one. It would be safer. Installing it myself would save money."

"Sigh..." sighed the aunt who lived next door, "What kind of mess is this!"

"Who says it isn't..."

Lin Ruo was very efficient and finished fixing the door in less than half an hour. Finally, she took out a huge freezer, a generator, and a barrel of diesel fuel from her space.

She put dozens of kilograms of various meats, various seasonings, and two boxes of pre-cooked dishes in the freezer. Then she put ten 20-kilogram bags of rice and flour and five buckets of cooking oil outside.

Then she handed the key to Grandma Wu downstairs, saying, "Grandma Wu, I need to go out for a while, could you please keep the key for me?"

Grandma Wu took the keys and asked with a smile, "Where does Xiao Ru want to go to play?"

Lin Ruoyang, holding a folder in his hand, said, “I’m going to work there for a while. I heard the seafood there is especially delicious. I’ll bring you some when I come back.”

"Alright, alright," Grandma Wu assumed Lin Ruo went out to relax, "Work hard and don't always make yourself suffer."

"Okay, you take good care of yourself too."

As she was about to go downstairs, Lin Ruo turned back and said, "Grandma Wu, I heard the weather hasn't been very good lately. I see your doors and windows are old. Please have Uncle Wu come back and replace them for you. If the windows are drafty, Lulu will get sick. Besides, Uncle Wu and Lulu haven't seen each other for a long time. Lulu must miss her father a lot."

Grandma Wu was taken aback. She looked back at her somewhat old iron bars and remained silent for a while. She also felt that Lin Ruo's words made sense. How could a father and daughter have any feelings for each other if they never got to see each other? What would happen to her Lulu if she really passed away one day?

"Okay, I'll have Lulu's dad come back."

Lin Ruo nodded in relief and went downstairs with her backpack on.

The airport in City A was bustling with people, with passersby hurrying by everywhere, all busy with their lives.

Lin Ruo sat in the waiting area, playing a game on her phone. Her hand speed was extremely fast, and her opponents were forced to retreat repeatedly.
