The sun shone brightly on the earth, which resembled a giant oven, indiscriminately baking every living thing within it.
After leaving the A City base and reaching a secluded spot, Lin Ruo released Afu and Ashou. As soon as they were out of the space, Afu and Ashou panted to cool off, then wagged their tails and looked at Lin Ruo. Lin Ruo easily jumped onto Afu's broad back. "Let's go home!"
Upon hearing this, Ah Shou immediately ran off happily, with Ah Fu carrying Lin Ruo close behind. Lin Ruo was wearing a heat-resistant suit, and her water-based supernatural abilities were running wildly to help reduce the high temperature caused by the extreme heat.
They ran all the way back to the mutated forest, where their pace slowed down slightly. In the mutated forest, the huge canopies of trees blocked out the sunlight, and Lin Ruo breathed a sigh of relief.
Lin Ruo took out two watermelons from her spatial storage. She activated her water-based supernatural power, and as soon as the watermelons left her space, they emitted bursts of cool air. Lin Ruo stuffed one of the watermelons into Afu's mouth and then shouted, "Asheng, catch!"
Ah Shou turned around and saw a watermelon. He immediately stopped in his tracks. Lin Ruo threw the watermelon forward, and Ah Shou caught it by looking up.
The cool, sweet watermelon briefly relieved the heat from Ah Fu and Ah Shou's long run. After eating it, Ah Fu and Ah Shou felt refreshed and light on their feet, and they increased their speed again as they ran towards the fortress.
Because of the abundance of mutated plants in the forest, there weren't many large mutated animals. They didn't encounter many mutated beasts along the way, which saved Lin Ruo and his companions from having to take action.
Upon arriving at the fortress, Lin Ruo noticed that the mutated plants nearby seemed different. They were incredibly respectful to them, even making way for them—a treatment they hadn't received before.
Seeing that all the branches that were originally blocking the road had suddenly been pulled away, Lin Ruo slightly curled her lips. It seemed that A Liu had strictly trained these plants, and they were all so obedient.
Ah Shou was a bit faster than them and arrived at the fortress first. He was squatting under the canopy of Ah Liu, panting and resting. Ah Liu had thoughtfully placed a few more willow branches on his head to shield him from the dappled sunlight.
When Afu and Lin Ruo returned to the platform, Lin Ruo discovered that there were actually two mutated beasts on the ground. These mutated beasts were different from the mutated beasts outside; they were enlarged poisonous insects or the like.
Unexpectedly, the insect repellent powder outside the fortress kept out the small mutated insects, but not the large ones. Luckily, Ah Liu was at home.
Inside was a nearly three-meter-tall mutated spider and a five-meter-long green poisonous lizard. Lin Ruo was initially a little disgusted, but when she saw that the spider silk behind the poisonous spider was still full, she had some ideas.
With a thought, she stored the two mutated beasts in her spatial storage and prepared enough lake water for A-Liu, A-Fu, and A-Shou before returning to the fortress.
After refilling the ice basin in the fortress and turning on the air conditioner and air cooler, the temperature inside the fortress began to drop slowly. Lin Ruo withdrew her water-based superpowers and felt a slight heat again.
After preparing breakfast for A-Liu and the others, Lin Ruo also found three boxed meals in the prepared food section of her space and ate them all in one go, letting out a satisfied burp.
She's been eating rice a lot lately and is getting a little tired of it. She's run out of noodles in her space, so she needs to find some time to make another batch and store them there.
After finishing their meal, Afu and Ashou went to lie down next to the ice basin, and Aliu stretched out her willow branch to watch TV with them.
After eating, Lin Ruo did not return to her bedroom to rest as usual, but instead turned and went to the training room, where she still had a piece of fruit left to eat.
She sat on the futon in the training room and took out the white jade-like fruit from her spatial storage. She had shown the fruit to A-Liu, who confirmed that it would be beneficial to her.
Lin Ruo looked at the fruit in her hand, which was about the size of an apple, and took a bite. The fruit was juicy and sweet, without any astringency or strange taste. It really tasted similar to the apples in her space. However, the fruit was all flesh and had no core. She ate the whole fruit in a few bites.
A moment later, she felt a powerful water-based energy suddenly appear in her body. She closed her eyes and used her mental energy to guide the energy to circulate throughout her body according to the water-based energy principle, and finally return to her mind.
Lin Ruo sat in the dimly lit room, surrounded by a soft blue light that gradually faded over time.
An hour later, Lin Ruo opened her eyes, a flash of blue light passing through them, followed by a look of joy on her face. This fruit could not only enhance her water-based abilities, but also use the water-based energy within it to strengthen her physique.
The energy contained in this single fruit is equivalent to that of a level 2 water-type crystal core. If such fruits were found all over the mutated plant, Lin Ruo's water-type ability would soon be upgraded again.
She took out the map she had looked at when she came here and marked Yulong Villa in the northeast of S City with a big asterisk, listing it as a must-visit place.
She stood up, intending to measure her current strength. She hadn't been able to use her full strength when she fought the python last time, and now that her physique had improved again, she wanted to know where her limits were. Moreover, the training equipment she had made in the space before was probably useless now, so she needed to study how to quickly deplete her stamina.
Thinking about this, Lin Ruo had a headache. As her strength grew, this kind of extreme training would become more and more difficult. Her mental strength was exceptionally strong. Even if she controlled two ice sculptures at the same time, it would take her several hours to exhaust it. If she spent so much time every day, she would only be able to train and wouldn't be able to do anything else.
