The torrential rain was gradually subsiding, and the surrounding mutated plants were all washed clean by the rain. As Lin Ruo and the little tiger passed by, they gently swayed their branches.
Lin Ruo had no interest in observing the mutated plants around her; she followed closely behind the little tiger, running wildly.
The direction Lin Ruo pointed to for Afu and Ashou had not been washed away by the mudslide. The surrounding area was full of mutated plants, which blocked her view. Lin Ruo's mental energy quickly moved forward, eager to know the situation of Afu and Ashou.
Wherever his mental energy passed, Lin Ruo "saw" bloodstains everywhere on the ground, washed away by the heavy rain, and some broken mutated plants lying on the ground, trying to straighten the broken branches with their own branches. There were also some mutated plants feeding on the corpses of mutated sea beasts.
Lin Ruo used his mental energy to scan Afu and Ashou ahead and found that they only had some superficial injuries. The reason they did not go back was because the mutated plants and animals around them were eyeing their prey.
Looking at the two giant beasts standing beside the mountain of mutated sea monster corpses, their eyes warily scanning their surroundings, exuding an imposing aura, she finally felt relieved. At the same time, she couldn't help but feel a sense of pride, thinking that Afu and Ashou had grown up and were now capable of standing on their own.
When she arrived at the location with the little tiger, Afu and Ashou ran quickly towards her, calling out one after another to express their joy to Lin Ruo. They had held the line and no mutated sea beasts had crossed over to attack the fortress.
Lin Ruo smiled and patted their big heads. "They're really great. Afu and Ashou have grown up and can protect our family now."
"Awooo!" "Woof woof!" The two beasts, each the size of a small mountain, shook their heads happily upon hearing Lin Ruo's praise, nudging Lin Ruo's shoulder with their bald heads. Even the usually reserved Afu kept wagging its tail.
Lin Ruo chuckled as she endured the man's coquettish behavior, making no attempt to back away.
Watching their interaction, the little tiger slowly backed away, wanting to leave. Ah Shou saw this and immediately ran over, licking the little tiger's wet fur with his big tongue. The little tiger had been guarding this place with them and had some small wounds on his body.
The little tiger rubbed its head against Ah Shou's front leg, let out two affectionate "roars," and then tried to leave.
Lin Ruo then noticed that the little tiger was also injured and called out to it, "You've been helping Afu and Ashou a lot, and you've worked hard too. There are many mutated sea beasts here. When we get to the mutated forest, I'll have Ashou bring you two."
The little tiger's eyes lit up. This was the first time Lin Ruo had called out to it. She said it could come back to the mutated forest with them. Ever since it recovered from its injuries, it had been driven out by the big willow tree. Now that this person had agreed, the big willow tree should be able to stop it.
The mutated animals that had been eyeing these prey covetously all ran away when they saw Lin Ruo arrive. Having lived on this mountain for so long, they were quite familiar with what was happening there.
They knew perfectly well that competing with Afu and Ashou for prey would at most result in them being bitten a couple of times and suffering some injuries, but taking something from Lin Ruo would mean certain death for them.
With a thought, Lin Ruo stored the mountain-sized mutated sea beast corpse into her spatial storage. She patted Afu and Ashou, "Let's go home first. You need to take care of your injuries."
Lin Ruo led the three mutated beasts back to the mutated forest quickly. Given A Liu's height, it had naturally already spotted them, and this time it did not stop the little tiger from going in.
Upon reaching the edge of the firebreak, the little tiger stopped on its own and watched Lin Ruo lead Afu and Ashou into the fortress. Looking at the fortress with its lights on, it had a hint of longing in its eyes. It also wanted to have a caring master like Afu and Ashou, but... the little tiger lowered its head; it seemed she didn't want it.
A-Liu was pleased to see the little tiger stop outside the firebreak of the fortress. The willow branches swayed gently, and Old White stretched out a branch in front of the little tiger and patted its head.
The little tiger sensed Old White's kindness and let out a soft growl.
Old Bai twisted his branches into a semi-circular cover and pulled the little tiger inside. The cover was woven very finely and could block most of the rainwater from the little tiger.
The little tiger was also injured. Although the mutated beast was very strong, being exposed to rain for a long time was not good for it.
Once inside the fortress, Lin Ruo first put Afu and Ashou into her spatial storage and gave them a bath before taking them out. Afu and Ashou lay in the fortress's living room, and Lin Ruo stood between them, examining their wounds. There were quite a few wounds on their bodies, but none of them were deep.
It was clear that Afu and Ashou had always managed to dodge the attacks of those mutated sea beasts at the last moment. She patted Afu and Ashou's two big heads, placed her hands on their bodies, and quickly activated her water-based powers.
A faint blue light immediately enveloped Afu and Ashou, and thin streams of water flowed over their wounds. Under the wash of these streams, the wounds on Afu and Ashou's bodies quickly scabbed over, and the scabs fell off, making them look the same color as the surrounding skin, as if they had never been injured.
At this point, Lin Ruo withdrew her superpower and then transferred it back, and Afu and Ashou's hair grew back.
Afu and Ashou turned to look at their injuries, and seeing that they were all healed, they immediately stood up and ran outside.
Lin Ruo followed them out of the fortress and saw Lao Bai using tree branches to shield the little tiger from the rain. She didn't say anything, but placed the corpses of the two level 2 mutated sea beasts on the platform outside the fortress and said to the little tiger, "These two mutated sea beasts are for you. Consider them your reward for helping Afu and Ashou."
