"Woof woof!" Ah Shou was knocked over by Ah Fu, and when he stood up, he snapped at Ah Fu.
"Woof woof!" Afu was indignant, even though he was in the wrong. Just now, A Shou had bitten his butt!
Lin Ruo smiled knowingly at their sweet, childlike cries and let them run and play in the living room. She took out a large piece of pork, a bag of rice, some seasonings, cooking oil, vermicelli, pickled cabbage, and some green vegetables from her spatial storage.
Pork stew with sauerkraut and glass noodles is a common dish in Northeast China. The pork is fragrant and tender, rich but not greasy, and the sauerkraut and glass noodles are infused with the aroma of the pork. Served with soft and fragrant rice, it's absolutely delicious.
Lin Ruo put the meat in the pot, walked out of the kitchen, and closed the kitchen door behind her. It was already late, and the sky was completely dark.
While the meat was stewing, she also tidied up the house. Although the cleaning lady had cleaned the house thoroughly, Lin Ruo still wanted to rearrange the layout.
Lin Ruo first took out the anti-theft lock she had bought in advance from her spatial storage and reinforced the lock on the apartment door.
Looking back at the living room, the original owner had placed many decorative items there for the sake of refinement. These items not only took up space but were also fragile. With Ah Shou and Ah Fu in the house, it was like having two destructive machines. These things were too dangerous.
So she put away all the useless cabinets and decorations, leaving only a small coffee table and a sofa in the corner of the living room to maximize the use of space.
This way, when Ashou and Afu grow larger after their mutations, they will be more at ease moving around here.
After settling the living room, Lin Ruo went into the master bedroom. The master bedroom was spacious and had a small balcony. Lin Ruo didn't make many changes, but simply changed the pillows, sheets, and blankets she needed and hung a few clothes in the closet.
Compared to the master bedroom, the changes to the second bedroom were more significant. Lin Ruo put everything in the second bedroom into her spatial storage and took out a set of exercise equipment from it. Since she couldn't go out during heavy rain, she could only exercise indoors using this equipment.
The house has a two-bedroom, one-living room layout. Both the bedrooms and the living room are spacious and do not feel cramped, which is one of the reasons why Lin Ruo took a liking to it at first sight.
After dealing with these matters, she went to the large balcony in the living room. The balcony was an enclosed balcony with a large floor-to-ceiling window installed on the edge. Such glass was simply not enough to keep out the torrential rain of the apocalypse.
It seems that when the rainstorm comes, she will have to add a layer of supernatural protection to each window to ensure that nothing goes wrong.
After checking the entire apartment, Lin Ruo turned to see what the two little ones were doing. The two were running around the room with their toys in their mouths, one biting the other, the other tackling the other, having a great time.
Lin Ruo smiled. It seemed fortunate that she bought two, so that they would have each other for company.
She picked up her tablet and settled on the sofa to read "The Rhyme of Decoctions," an introductory book to traditional Chinese medicine. At first, she frowned deeply because the names and properties of the herbs were too complicated and varied, and the names of various prescriptions and decoctions were difficult to pronounce and remember. But after an hour, she gradually became engrossed.
"Waaaaah~"
A burst of urgent barking, followed by scratching at the door, startled Lin Ruo from her book. She quickly looked up and saw Ah Shou with his two front paws on the kitchen door, his face full of anxiety.
Lin Ruo blinked, and then smelled the aroma filling the room; it seemed the stew was ready.
The meat in the pot smelled delicious, and because of the pickled cabbage, there was also a sour aroma that made people's mouths water. This was a real hardship for the two little guys with their sensitive noses.
Outside the kitchen door, Ah Shou anxiously clung to it, jumping and trying to use his short legs to open the door and rush in to steal some food. Ah Fu, meanwhile, obediently squatted at the kitchen door, drooling, but his big eyes were also filled with longing.
Seeing this, Lin Ruo stood up with a smile, shaking her head as she walked towards the kitchen. "You two are only three months old, you're still too young to eat these things. You should drink your milk properly later."
"Woof woof!" When Ah Shou saw Lin Ruo finally stand up, he turned his head and barked anxiously at her, as if urging Lin Ruo to give him the delicious meat.
Lin Ruo ignored it, picked up their dog bowls from the side, went into the kitchen, and began preparing dinner for them.
She first soaked goat milk for them, then added a small amount of dog food to it, making sure it was soft before they could eat it.
Then he took out a large piece of chicken breast from his spatial storage, put it in a pot of cold water, and turned on the heat to boil.
While cooking the chicken breasts, Lin Ruo took out another pot and started stir-frying vegetables. The vegetables she took out from her space were very fresh and green. After washing them clean, she chopped them into sections, turned on the heat, added a small amount of oyster sauce, salt, sugar, and the essential minced garlic. After a quick stir, it was ready to serve.
"Woof woof~" Seeing that Lin Ruo ignored them and was only focused on cooking at the kitchen counter, Afu anxiously circled around Lin Ruo's legs and barked softly.
Lin Ruo scooped out the vegetables and plated them, then bent down and tapped Ah Shou and Ah Fu's wet little noses. "Be good, your digestive systems aren't fully developed yet, so you can't digest them. We'll be able to feed you in a couple of days."
Once they mutate and their overall functions improve, they will be able to handle not only cooked meat, but also raw meat and bones without any problems.
"Wait a minute, dinner will be ready soon." Lin Ruo squatted down and gave the two little ones a few hard pats on the head.
When she went over, she saw that the dog food was soaked and the chicken was cooked. She put the chicken breast into a food processor and blended it, then put it into the goat milk, filling the small dog bowl to the brim.
Suddenly, she felt something furry on her leg. Looking down, she saw Afu rubbing its head against her leg. Lin Ru smiled knowingly; it seemed the two of them were really hungry.
She brought the dog bowls to them; they tasted meat and milk mixed in, and the dogs loved them, eating with relish. She smiled slightly.
