Chapter 37 The Blood Symphony

"Bang!"

The gunshots were so sharp they seemed to pierce the eardrums of everyone on the 25th floor and strike their hearts, filling them with terror.

The shot struck the man who had been kicked away squarely between the eyebrows, blood splattered, and the man slid limply down the opposite wall, dead.

"She has a gun! Run!"

Lin Ruo's eyes, modified by her supernatural abilities, already possessed night vision, allowing her to see everything in the dark – this was truly her domain.

In the darkness, she saw nine people running frantically towards the stairwell after hearing the gunshots.

Lin Ruo sneered. Wasn't he so arrogant when he smashed her door? Now that he heard the gunshot, he's backed down. She remained calm and fired a few quick shots with her right hand.

"Bang...bang...thump...thump..." After each sharp gunshot, a person fell straight to the ground.

The dull thud of the corpse hitting the ground combined with the gunshots, creating a seemingly perfect symphony.

Lin Ruo savored the poignant melody, reaping lives within its melody.

Upon hearing Lin Ruo's command, Afu and Ashou swiftly pounced forward, each pinning down one person and biting down on their necks with their gaping maws. Sharp fangs pierced the flesh, and with a violent jerk, they tore open the necks, leaving large patches of blood staining the skin.

"Giggle..." The two people's throats and tracheas were bitten open, and they were silent in less than a second.

The entire battle lasted less than two minutes, and all nine people were killed. The results were: Lin Ruo with seven people, A Fu with one person, and A Shou with one person.

These people claimed they were trying to escape, but they died before they even touched the doorknob in the stairwell.

The 25th-floor corridor reeked of blood, with nine corpses lying haphazardly on the ground, blood flowing like a river.

Those living on the 25th floor never imagined they would one day face such a living hell. Blood spread to their feet, reminding them of the reality of the scene.

"ah!"

"Murder!"

"So much blood! She actually killed so many people!"

"Help! Don't kill us! Please!"

...

Although they couldn't see clearly in the darkness, they could still vaguely make out the outlines on the ground, smell the strong stench of blood, and even see Ah Fu and Ah Shou's two bright eyes in the darkness.

My fear is skyrocketing!

"Click"

The door to apartment 2502 across the street opened, and Li Wei walked out of his house. He looked at the corpse on the ground, then at the gun in Lin Ruo's hand, but said nothing.

When the others saw Li Wei come out, they felt a sense of security for some reason, perhaps because they thought Li Wei had more principles than Lin Ruo.

Little did he know that Li Wei was also in a state of turmoil. He had been standing inside the door, and although he couldn't see, he could hear the gunshots and screams outside.

He had originally planned to rush out to help if these people actually broke into Lin Ruo's house, but he seemed to have underestimated Lin Ruo; she actually had a gun.

Lin Ruo looked at the corpses on the ground with a relaxed expression. This was the long-awaited apocalypse. Killing was commonplace in the apocalypse. How could people not die every day?

As expected, this way made her feel more comfortable. Her mind had already become accustomed to the apocalypse, and the month before the apocalypse actually made her feel restricted.

It's better this way, so comfortable!

She tucked the gun into her waistband, humming a tune as she grabbed a corpse in each hand. Blood stained her pale hands, but she didn't care at all. She carried the two corpses toward the stairwell window.

Those huddled around the window immediately moved aside without hesitation; it was a purely instinctive reaction.

She opened the window, and large raindrops pelted Lin Ruo's face, instantly soaking her clothes.

"Tsk tsk, it's wet again." She looked down at her wet clothes and muttered to herself.

Then, Lin Ruo effortlessly threw the two heavy corpses out of the window.

"Bang... Splash... Splash..." The two corpses fell directly into the puddles, creating huge splashes.

Hearing the sound, Lin Ruo hummed a song again. Turning around, she saw Li Wei carrying two corpses as he walked over, seemingly helping her clean them up.

Lin Ruo didn't refuse. Wasn't it good to have someone help her clean up? It saved her a lot of effort.

After throwing all the corpses down, there were still large patches of blood on the ground. She frowned; since she couldn't use water-based abilities, she didn't want to wash them by hand.

"I'll clean you up!" A long-haired woman stood up in the darkness. She was thin and her clothes were dirty. Her voice sounded familiar.

A moment later, she raised an eyebrow; it was the "good person" girl.

Since someone was willing to clean, she was naturally happy to do so, but she still said, "I'll give you a piece of bread after I clean it up."

The woman looked up in surprise, her voice trembling with emotion: "Yes! I will definitely clean it very well!"

Lin Ruo nodded, no longer paying attention to her, "Knock on my door when you've cleaned up."

"Okay!" the woman nodded hastily.

The people in the hallway glared at the woman. Who wouldn't hate her for having such a good job snatched away? But they didn't dare to do anything to her. They had all reached a consensus: never cause trouble on the 25th floor. If they stirred up this troublemaker, none of them would survive!

Because of this perception, the number of people in the 25th-floor corridor has remained consistently high, as everyone considers it the safest place.

Lin Ruo turned to Li Wei, who was still standing there, and nodded her thanks. "Thank you for helping me throw the body down. Here's a piece of bread for you too?"

Li Wei was taken aback, then remembered what Qian Li had told him before. Knowing that Lin Ruo didn't want to owe anyone a favor, he shook his head and said, "No need. I just don't like having corpses in the stairwell."
