Chapter 38 Robbed

Lin Ruo finally became a little curious. With Li Wei's skills and alertness, those people shouldn't have succeeded yesterday. Why was he repairing the door so early in the morning?

Upon hearing this, Li Wei paused in his actions, remained silent for a long time, and finally said, "Yesterday, those people broke into my house and stole all the food."

"Huh?" Lin Ruo was genuinely surprised this time, squatting down to look at him with a puzzled expression. "You didn't change the lock?"

Hearing this, Li Wei looked towards his house. Lin Ru followed his gaze and saw Qian Li sitting on the sofa, holding her child. Her head was wrapped in gauze, and she was keeping her head down and not saying a word. The child in her arms was still sobbing softly.

In an instant, Lin Ruo roughly understood that Qian Li had been well protected by Li Wei since the apocalypse. She had not yet seen the cruelty of the apocalypse. Yesterday, those people cried and begged so pitifully that she might want to open the door and secretly slip some food out.

As a result, those people swarmed in, broke into her house, and stole all her food.

Lin Ruo understood what had happened. Feeling satisfied with her curiosity, she touched her nose and changed the subject, "I've seen a lot of people heading towards Building 3. There have been quite a few more people these past few days?"

After tightening the last screw, Li Wei stood up. "Well, a lot of people have come to Longyuan recently, and the already limited food supply seems to have dwindled even further with their arrival."

Lin Ruo, realizing she still had to maintain a facade, put on a serious tone and said, "Then are the supermarket supplies running low?"

Li Wei nodded heavily; the supplies in the surrounding large supermarkets were dwindling.

"So what do you plan to do in the future?" Lin Ruo glanced at the man not far away.

This person thought he was being discreet, so he moved past several people towards her, his intentions were obvious.

The man noticed Lin Ruo's gaze, froze, and quickly retreated, hiding himself in the crowd.

Lin Ruo gave a sarcastic smile, "Some people never learn until they see the coffin."

Li Wei glanced at the group, his eyes filled with hostility. The light was too dim last night, and the group moved too quickly, so he hadn't been able to see clearly who had stolen their things.

There must have been someone involved among these people in the hallway, so he no longer looked at them with the same calm as before.

"Then we'll have to go out and see if we can find anything to eat," Li Wei said, sighing. "But the raft we made is too rudimentary, and the current is too strong; it simply can't support long-term travel on the water."

“That’s true,” Lin Ruo nodded, indicating that they hadn’t found a solution yet. “I’ll go down and take a look.”

The conversation ended there. Lin Ruo nodded to Li Wei and then walked downstairs.

The entire stairwell of Building 3 was filled with people, most of whom had moved from elsewhere, and many of them were unfamiliar faces.

As Lin Ruo walked down, these people did not recognize her. Seeing that she was clean and looked like she had plenty of food, they began to covet her, their eyes fixed on her greedily.

Lin Ruo glanced at them, but didn't stop walking and continued down.

At this moment, a man wearing a tank top stood up. His clothes were covered in dirt and some dried blood.

As soon as the man made a move, several other men stood up behind him. The man in the tank top smiled and extended his hand to Lin Ruo, "Little sister, where are you going?"

Lin Ruo stopped and turned to look at them, her hand reaching behind her to touch her gun.

Just then, a figure suddenly darted out from the side. This person moved quickly and kicked the man who had been harassing Lin Ruo.

"How dare you talk to Sister Ruo like that!"

The one who kicked the person was none other than Zhao Hui. He heard from his men that they had seen Lin Ruo in the stairwell, and his scalp immediately started to tingle. He was afraid that one of his men would be foolish enough to offend this young lady.

He wasn't afraid she would kill someone, but he was afraid she would hold him responsible. He considered his life worthless, but this young lady was always thinking about it.

Sure enough, as soon as he came out, he saw the newcomer who had just arrived yesterday harassing Lin Ruo. He quickly kicked him, successfully saving the newcomer's life.

This woman is not only skilled and ruthless, but she also has a gun and two ferocious dogs by her side. She is the strongest fighter in the three buildings, and he dares not mess with her.

"Brother Hui! Brother Hui! I really didn't know this was Sister Ruo!"

The man lying on the ground was immediately terrified and broke out in a cold sweat. Although he had only been in Longyuan for a short time, he had heard of Lin Ruo's name. He never expected that this fair-skinned little girl was the living devil!

If Zhao Hui hadn't kicked him just now, he'd probably be a cold corpse by now.

Lin Ruo's lips curled up in a smile, "Brother Hui isn't busy today."

"Sister Ruo, what are you saying?" Zhao Hui said with a smile, his eyes involuntarily glancing at the Desert Eagle at Lin Ruo's waist. It didn't seem to be this gun last time, so it seems she has more than one!

"Sister Ruo, is there something you need to do down here?"

Lin Ruo glanced down and said, "I heard there have been quite a few unfamiliar faces in Building 3 recently, so I came out to take a look."

"Oh, I see."

Zhao Hui thought to himself, "Why would I need to bring a gun just to take a look? Does she have to believe me when she says that?"

"Then I won't disturb you any longer, you can continue watching." Zhao Hui winked at the person next to him, and immediately someone quickly ran downstairs.

Lin Ruo was speechless. She wasn't a serial killer, so why would she need to send someone to warn her? She immediately lost all interest in continuing her exploration.

"I suddenly don't want to go anymore, I'm going back." Lin Ruo nodded to Zhao Hui and turned to walk upstairs.

Zhao Hui gave himself a thumbs up. He might need Lin Ruo's help in the future, so he couldn't afford to offend her now.

He had considered hiring dozens of people to abduct Lin Ruo and Li Wei, but with the neighboring buildings looking menacing, what would he do if he eliminated these two forces and a conflict broke out later? A leader needs to think long-term.
