-10 degrees Celsius!
-15 degrees Celsius!
Lin Ruo watched the temperature on the thermometer drop continuously. A layer of water vapor had condensed on the window of the master bedroom, and then this layer of water vapor slowly turned into ice flowers.
Her water-based superpowers were already in operation, so Lin Ruo didn't feel a trace of cold.
She placed the thermometer in her hand outside the master bedroom door, then took out another identical thermometer from the room and placed it on the bedside table in the master bedroom before putting on the inner thermal underwear and cashmere sweater and pants that she had taken out earlier.
After putting it on, she felt a little hot, and her water-based supernatural power began to regulate her body again, maintaining a constant temperature.
It took her less than a minute to put on her warm clothes, and the thermometer in the master bedroom had already read -18 degrees Celsius, with the temperature continuing to drop slowly.
Lin Ruo got dressed and opened the master bedroom door to check the thermometer outside. But as soon as she opened the door, a blast of cold air hit her, and she shivered violently. Her water-based superpowers activated again to help regulate her temperature.
The chill dissipated from her body, and she looked at the thermometer outside the door, only to find that the number on the thermometer had already dropped to minus 40 degrees Celsius and was still falling rapidly!
In just a few minutes, the temperature has dropped from around 28 degrees Celsius to -40 degrees Celsius, a difference of nearly 70 degrees Celsius. How could an ordinary person possibly withstand such a temperature difference? I wonder how many people will freeze to death today!
She put the thermometer away, turned around and quickly went into the house, snuggled into the warm down comforter, and felt the warmth. Her water-based superpowers started working again, adjusting the temperature to the most comfortable level each time.
Her face and hands were exposed outside the blanket, and even with the electric heater and stove burning inside, her face still felt icy cold.
She turned to look at the thermometer on the table again. The temperature had dropped to -20 degrees Celsius, and the rate of decrease was very slow. It seemed that the temperature in the master bedroom had been kept at this level due to the insulation measures in the room.
But the outside temperature continued to drop, and Lin Ruo watched as a thin layer of ice crystals gradually formed on the door of the master bedroom, and the ice crystals were slowly expanding.
The outside temperature continued to drop; the extreme cold had not yet reached its limit. Lin Ruo had experienced it before; extreme cold usually remained below -60 degrees Celsius.
But these are no longer her concerns. With her face pressed against the warm down comforter and a cozy electric blanket beneath her, drowsiness washed over her. She hadn't stayed up this late in a long time; she was so sleepy.
She buried half her face in the warm down comforter and quickly drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, Lin Ruo woke up at five o'clock.
Her face was already red from the cold. The bamboo charcoal in the stove had burned out yesterday, and the stove had gone out.
She lay in bed and turned to look at the thermometer in the room. Sure enough, it showed a temperature of -28 degrees Celsius.
She used her water-based powers to regulate her body temperature, then quickly got up and put on a down jacket and down pants before getting busy.
She lit the stove in the house first, then checked the power consumption of the storage box overnight. She found that the two electric heaters together consumed more than ten kilowatt-hours of electricity, which put her at ease. The solar panels in the space were more than enough to supply the power.
"Crackling..."
The bamboo charcoal in the stove was burning brightly, making crackling sounds, and a kettle was placed on the two stoves, emitting a slight steam.
There were two electric heaters working nearby, quietly radiating heat.
The temperature inside the house was kept around minus ten degrees Celsius by the stove and electric heater. There were beautiful frost patterns on the windowpanes. The ice on the master bedroom door had not melted. Snowflakes started falling outside again.
Inside the master bedroom, Lin Ruo was wearing only a layer of close-fitting thermal underwear, holding a knife in her hand. She moved around the room quickly, wielding the knife with fierce power.
"Knock knock knock! Lin Ruo!"
Li Wei's voice came from outside the door. Lin Ruo swung her sword with all her might, stopping it in mid-air. Lin Ruo sheathed her sword, picked up a towel from the side, and looked towards the door.
She took the towel hanging next to the stove and wiped the sweat from her face. She picked up the clothes from the bed, put them on, and also put on a hat and mask before turning around to open the door.
The bedroom door was frozen shut with a thin layer of ice. Lin Ruo pulled it open with a little force. As soon as she opened the master bedroom door, it was as if she had stepped into a world of ice and snow. Everything in the room was covered with a layer of ice crystals, and some of them were even covered with icicles.
Even though she was dressed warmly, she still felt a chill when she came out. Her water-based superpowers activated again to dispel the cold.
She quickly closed the master bedroom door to prevent the cold air from getting in. In those few seconds, Lin Ruo could see white mist appearing in the air of the master bedroom.
The same apartment, yet the bedroom door separated two worlds, with a temperature difference of tens of degrees. This was extreme cold. Even though Lin Ruo lit two stoves and two electric heaters, they could only warm the master bedroom; the rest of the room remained just as cold.
"Lin Ruo! Are you still alive?!"
Li Wei's knocking on the door grew louder, and upon closer listening, one could hear a tremor in his voice.
This trembling wasn't due to fear that Lin Ruo might get into trouble, but rather because the weather outside was simply too cold!
He was wearing several layers of sweaters underneath, a thick down jacket on top, a hat on his head, and a mask on his face, but his voice was still trembling with cold.
This weather is unbelievable! It's so cold! It feels like the cold is seeping into your bones!
He knocked on the door because he was worried that Lin Ruo might not have noticed the temperature drop yesterday. The temperature dropped so much in just a few minutes that anyone who was slow to notice could have frozen to death.
"Click".
The door to Lin Ruo's house was frozen shut with a thick layer of ice. She used some force to pull it open and saw Li Wei outside, who was wrapped up tightly.
