Chapter 533 Mutant Beast Siege

"roar!"

"Awoo!"

The roars of beasts echoed across the sky, and countless enormous figures approached at incredible speed, instantly creating an oppressive atmosphere.

The guards on the walls of the nearest small base turned pale with fright upon hearing the roar. Seeing the enormous figures in the distance, they immediately shouted in a hoarse voice, "Mutant beasts! Mutant beasts are attacking the city! Quickly notify the base commander!"

This is a very remote small base. Because the base is weak, it was relegated to a location near the mountains and forests, which is now the primary target of these wild beasts.

After a period of chaos on the city wall, the superhumans from the bases arrived one after another after hearing the news. They initially thought it was just a small group of mutated beasts, but when they looked into the distance, they were shocked to find that there were so many mutated beasts, with huge figures crowding everywhere.

They couldn't even see through it; they couldn't see where the tail of this mutated beast horde was.

What terrified them even more was that among these enormous mutated beasts were many smaller, but extremely fast, mutated beasts.

Even the most naive among them would never think that these mutated beasts were small because they were weak. These were the main fighting force of this beast tide, all of them high-level mutated beasts that were above level five!

These mutated beasts can now freely change their size, using a size that matches their strength to fight – that's the most terrifying thing.

On the other hand, none of the superhumans standing on the city wall were above level five. Given the huge difference in numbers and levels, they knew in their hearts that they had no chance against these mutated beasts.

"Quick! Crystal Cannon! Fire!"

"Tell the people in the rear to retreat immediately!"

One after another, light bullets were fired at the charging beast horde. This crystal energy cannon was the oldest model developed by the B City base. It was incredibly lethal to mutated beasts below level four, but once the mutated beasts exceeded level four, the crystal energy cannon could only injure them. Mutated beasts above level five could change their size and move at incredible speeds, so the crystal energy cannon couldn't hit them at all. Even if it did hit them, the damage was greatly reduced. With their body's healing speed, these injuries would heal quickly and wouldn't affect their advance at all.

"Boom!" "Boom!"

A series of violent explosions rang out. Some of the mutated beasts in the horde were injured, but many more still charged toward the city wall, especially those mutated beasts of level five and above.

"Awoo!"

A loud roar came from afar, and the level 5 mutated beasts that were originally following the herd and moving in coordination with it immediately accelerated and rushed madly toward the city wall.

The superhumans on the city wall unleashed their various abilities, but these mutated beasts were not afraid at all. In just a few minutes, they broke through the layers of obstacles and leaped onto the city wall of the base.

They bared their sharp teeth and raised their claws, lunging at the superhumans controlling the crystal cannons on the city wall. Even though crystal guns were firing at them from all around, they did not retreat at all, their behavior was extremely frenzied.

"Ah! Help! They're coming up!"

"Run! Run! This city can't be defended!"

As the mutated beasts pressed close to the faces of the superhumans on the city wall, their fear surged. They tried to escape, but it was too late; the mutated beasts had no intention of letting go of this easy prey.

In an instant, the city walls were filled with miserable wails, as well as the sounds of flesh being torn apart and bones shattering.

These level-five mutated beasts continued to attack those controlling the crystal energy cannons, causing the cannons to stop firing for a moment. At that moment, another loud roar rang out in the distance, and the mutated beasts below level four rushed madly toward the city wall.

A giant mutated elephant used its thick hide to shield the mutated animals around it from the flying superpower attacks. With a flick of its trunk, which was several meters long, it sent all the superpowered beings flying. Its size instantly increased to tens of meters, and it kicked the crumbling city wall.

The city walls, which had already been severely damaged by those level-five mutated beasts, collapsed with a roar due to the pushing and attacking of these huge mutated beasts. Countless stones fell to the ground, still stained with fresh blood.

Unimpeded, the mutated beasts roared and charged into the city, crashing into buildings and killing any humans they encountered.

From the moment the mutated beasts began attacking the city until the city walls were breached, less than ten minutes passed. The fastest survivors didn't even make it out of the other gate before being caught up by the mutated beasts and pinned to the ground. Blood splattered everywhere, leaving patches of red on the ground. The strong smell of blood further fueled the ferocity of these mutated beasts, making them even more savage.

The base commander had already prepared to escape by helicopter with his confidants when the beast tide attacked the city. However, a flock of mutated birds flew in from nowhere and charged directly at the helicopters. The huge impact force deformed the helicopter fuselage instantly, bent the propellers, and sent the plane flying more than ten meters away before plummeting to the ground.

The superhumans inside were already disoriented from the impact, and now they felt a strong sense of weightlessness, so they had no choice but to jump out of the plane. Staying in the plane would mean certain death, but jumping out might give them a chance to survive.

They attacked the mutated birds while maneuvering their parachutes, but fighting these birds in the air was unwise; they lacked their agility and could only rely on their thin parachutes.

These mutated birds were also aware of the problem. They nimbly darted through the sky, dodging the supernatural attacks while looking for opportunities to tear apart the parachutes with their claws.
