Chapter 58 Tactical Cooperation

"Woof woof!"

With Lin Ruo on his back, Afu moved at a brisk pace, and with A Shou waiting for them, they soon arrived at A Shou's side.

When they got closer, Lin Ruo could see clearly that Ah Shou hadn't stopped to wait for them; instead, he was sticking out his big buttocks and digging vigorously at the ground with his huge paws.

Although the soil was frozen solid, Ah Shou's claws were sharp and his strength was as great as an ox. The brown soil was constantly thrown into the air and scattered down, gradually forming a small mound behind Ah Shou's buttocks.

Ah Fu ran over, sniffed the pit twice, and started digging with Ah Shou.

Lin Ruo blinked, somewhat puzzled, and jumped off Afu's back. She stood aside and watched the two dig quickly. Before long, a huge pit appeared in front of them.

"No, what's down there? Is it worth digging like this?" Lin Ruo asked curiously, squatting down to examine the deep pit more closely.

"Woof woof!" Ah Shou, covered in dirt from head to toe, still managed to reply to Lin Ruo's question.

Afu also raised its head, its once clean silver fur now covered in mud. With a "woof!" it continued to dig in the dirt.

Lin Ruo didn't understand what the two were saying. She just watched as the pit gradually deepened until it was about two meters deep. Suddenly, Lin Ruo saw a gray patch. "What is this?"

Afu carried all the sleeping animals out of the pit and arranged them neatly on the ground. Only then did Lin Ruo realize that it was a litter of mutated rabbits. This litter of rabbits was obviously much smarter than the ones Lin Ruo had picked up on the road, and they knew to hide in their own burrows before sleeping.

Besides the two adult rabbits, there are also eight baby rabbits in the burrow. The baby rabbits are not very big, only 20 centimeters long.

“This family was hidden so deep underground, yet they couldn’t escape your sense of smell.” Lin Ruo tapped Ah Shou’s nose, which was covered in mud. “These rabbits probably hadn’t fully mutated yet, but you dug them up. Perfect food for you.”

Both were digging, but Ah Shou was covered in dirt from head to toe, his originally black fur now a brownish-brown, while Ah Fu only had some loose dirt on his legs and body, where you could still see his original silver color.

Lin Ruo sighed, "It just means I'll have to bathe you all when we get back. Luckily, I have water-based and spatial abilities. If I were to use only my hands to bathe you, I would be exhausted."

"Awoo!" Afu growled softly at Lin Ruo, then lowered its head and bit off the male rabbit's neck.

Ah Shou quickly lowered his head and bit the mother rabbit's neck. With a "crack," the neck broke.

All the rabbits were bitten to death. Lin Ruo put these mutated rabbits into her spatial storage and then let them eat them slowly in the still space.

Because the two were covered in dirt, Lin Ruo stopped riding on their backs and instead put on skis to keep up with them.

Afu and Ashou's mutations enhanced their physical abilities, with their sense of smell becoming particularly acute. They could smell rabbits two meters underground and even wild deer in caves ten meters away.

Lin Ruo followed behind them, which was like a pocket. They found the animals that had not yet fully mutated and were still asleep. The animals were responsible for killing them, and Lin Ruo was responsible for collecting them.

They worked together and collected a lot of food along the way. Lin Ruo also explored the underground area but found no minerals.

"roar!"

Lin Ruo was putting a squirrel the size of a rabbit into her spatial dimension with A Fu when they heard a deep roar coming from the direction where A Shou had run off to.

Afu's ears immediately perked up, and he quickly ran towards Ashou's direction.

Lin Ruo also sped up, rushing over like a blur. The roar just now was definitely not something an ordinary animal could make; it was a mutated beast that Ah Shou couldn't handle.

"Awoo!"

"Woof woof!"

When Lin Ruo arrived deep in the forest, she saw A Fu and A Shou fighting a huge black shadow, one in front of the other.

Lin Ruo's eyes narrowed slightly. That was—a mutated black bear!

This black bear is enormous, with strong, powerful muscles. When it stands upright, it is six meters tall, giving people a strong sense of oppression. Its claws are incredibly sharp and have immense strength. When it grabs a tree trunk, it can easily crush it.

There was still blood on its mouth, indicating that it had just eaten.

Ah Fu and Ah Shou were just domesticated dogs and had never fought against such a forest beast before. Although they initially cooperated well, they were still accidentally scratched a few times by the black bear's huge claws, leaving them covered in blood.

Although black bears are huge and incredibly strong, they are not very agile. After suffering a few losses, Afu quickly realized this.

"Awoo!" Afu roared to the sky, and they immediately changed tactics.

Afu was stronger and more aggressive than Ashou. Afu attracted the black bear's attention from the front, while Ashou used his speed to launch guerrilla attacks from behind.

Lin Ruo was initially worried that they might be no match for the black bear, so several ice arrows were already hovering in her hand, ready to be fired.

Seeing that their tactics were working, she felt a little relieved. This was a good time for them to train, but she kept ice arrows hovering nearby, ready to strike at any moment.

Ah Shou unleashed his full potential, moving at incredible speed. Under Ah Fu's command, he relentlessly attacked the black bear's weakest points, causing it to sustain more and more wounds. Bright red blood splattered onto the silvery-white ground, resembling plum blossoms blooming in the snow, beautiful and alluring.

The black bear finally had enough of Ah Shou's old sixth fighting style, so it abandoned its constant attacks on Ah Fu and turned to attack Ah Shou instead.

Afu seized the opportunity, nimbly leaping onto the black bear's back. With his sharp claws, he scooped down and blinded the black bear in both eyes.
