Chapter 6: Becoming a Rich Woman

Liuli Ancient Street is the largest antique street in City A.

At that moment, the aroma of fried chicken wafted from a black minivan parked on the street.

In the car, Lin Ruo put the last piece of fried chicken into her mouth. The fried chicken, which she had just taken out of her space, was just as crispy as when she bought it. It was incredibly delicious.

After finishing her meal, she took a sip of the iced cola that was placed to the side, pulled out a tissue to wipe the oil off her hands, and then let out a satisfied burp.

This Liuli Ancient Street is actually just a street lined with antique shops on both sides. Each shop has its own prized possessions and a rich history, with the most outstanding being Jubaoge, located in the middle.

The owner of this Jubao Pavilion is said to have connections with high-ranking officials in City A. He has always been a leader in the antique industry in City A and has abundant funds. Only in this way could he acquire this bottle from her.

When Lin Ruo arrived at Liuli Ancient Street, it was already afternoon. The number of people on the street had decreased significantly compared to the morning. There were only a few scattered stalls on the street, and the stalls did not have many items. The vendors also lacked the enthusiasm they had shown in the morning when they saw customers.

Lin Ruo withdrew her gaze from the ancient street, opened the car door and got out, carrying a large box out of the car before heading straight towards Jubaoge.

There were no customers in the shop, only an old man dressed in a Tang suit lying in a rocking chair with a small square table on it and a radio on the table. The old man was listening to music with his eyes closed and tapping his feet to the beat, looking very content.

He is the manager of this Jubao Pavilion.

The shopkeeper opened his eyes upon hearing the sound, looked Lin Ruo up and down, and then said, "Young lady, please feel free to look at whatever you want."

The shopkeeper spends all day in this treasure pavilion and sees many people every day. He can tell at a glance that this young girl is probably just here to browse the antique market and most of her won't buy anything, so he didn't stand up to greet her.

Lin Ruo placed the box on the counter and turned to the shopkeeper, saying, "Grandpa, I'm not here to buy anything, but to ask you to take a look at my products."

The contents of the box were, of course, something she had taken out of her spatial storage. It was a plum vase from the Yuan Dynasty, with a small mouth, short neck, and full shoulders. The entire vase was covered in a deep blue glaze, while the cloud dragon and pearl motifs were covered in a bluish-white glaze.

"Young lady, it's very expensive to have me appraise your eyes," the shopkeeper joked with a smile as he rocked his chair.

Lin Ruo smiled and opened the large box in front of him, revealing the plum vase inside. The shopkeeper, who had been calm just now, suddenly stood up from his rocking chair, walked quickly to the vase, and opened his eyes wide.

"Now, could you please take a look?" Lin Ruo replied with a smile.

The shopkeeper chuckled, "This young lady is good at keeping things to herself. Why don't you open this box quickly?"

Lin Ruo stopped talking and opened all the boxes, revealing the entire plum vase. The shopkeeper checked it from top to bottom to make sure there was nothing wrong before he touched it.

As I looked at it, I couldn't help but marvel at how genuine this was—a Yuan dynasty blue-glazed plum vase with a white dragon design!

He's really seen something new today!

Lin Ruo stood to the side watching the shopkeeper examine the bottle with great interest. The person who had traded the bottle with her had assured her that it was from the Yuan Dynasty and could be worth over a billion at auction. However, Lin Ruo didn't have that much time; she just wanted to sell it for a reasonable price.

"Sir, how is it going?" After more than ten minutes, Lin Ruo finally spoke up to remind the shopkeeper that she, the owner, was still there.

The shopkeeper paused, stroked his long beard, and said somewhat uncertainly, "Young lady, would you mind if this old man had someone come and appraise it?"

Lin Ruo shook her head. She knew this would happen when she took out the bottle. After all, it was a rare Yuan Dynasty artifact, and the loss would be enormous if she made a mistake.

"Please go ahead."

The shopkeeper took out his phone and made a call. Less than half an hour later, an elderly man with gray hair, dressed in a Tang suit, came in. He looked older than the previous shopkeeper.

As soon as the shopkeeper saw the old man enter, he hurriedly stepped forward to greet him with great respect and led him to the plum vase. "Old Li, look."

The old man was still quite spry. As soon as he entered the room, he rushed to the plum vase, took out a magnifying glass, and began to examine it carefully. His eyes grew brighter and brighter. "It's real! It's real! This is a genuine Yuan Dynasty blue-glazed plum vase with white dragon design."

Upon hearing this, the shopkeeper finally felt relieved. He thought that if he were to sell a Yuan Dynasty blue-glazed white dragon-patterned plum vase, his Treasure Pavilion would be in a completely different league in the future. Moreover, the plum vase would bring him countless riches.

The old man was still admiring the plum vase when the shopkeeper stood up, smiled, and cupped his hands in a respectful gesture towards Lin Ruo, "Young friend, are you considering selling this vase?"

Lin Ruo nodded and said without further ado, "Since I can produce this plum vase, I naturally know its value. So you don't need to talk to me about prices. Just give me a fair price. Of course, if it doesn't meet my expectations, I'll have to look elsewhere."

The shopkeeper was embarrassed for a moment, then looked at Lin Ruo with a strange expression. There were two of these items on the market, one in the Summer Palace and the other supposedly in a foreign museum. No matter how you look at it, they should be in this girl's hands.

"Little girl, where did you get this bottle?"

Lin Ruo had done her homework before coming, so she wasn't flustered at all. She shrugged and said, "It was passed down from my ancestors. You can see clearly that the dragon pattern on this one is different from the other pair."

Upon hearing this, the shopkeeper looked down again, his eyes growing brighter with each glance. Yes, this bottle must have been kept hidden away, never seen on the market before; the more hidden it was, the more precious it became.

He looked excited after reading it, and when he looked up at Lin Ruo again, his eyes were shining. He couldn't wait to ask, "Young lady, how much are you willing to pay for this plum vase?"
