Chapter 69 Mutant Ant Nest

As they got closer, one of the men could see clearly what the large swarms of black things were—ants! So many ants!

"Ants! Ants! So many ants! Run!"

He ran towards the mall entrance in a panic, and the other man and woman, not bothering to reprimand Lin Ruo, also took off after him.

Lin Ruo remained standing, watching the ants crawl toward the three fleeing people. Each of these mutated ants was the size of an adult woman's fist, and their numbers were enormous.

These ants are organized and disciplined; their first action was to block the direction of the mall's entrance to prevent people from escaping. They are clearly skilled workers.

Seeing this, the three people hurriedly picked up a tattered piece of clothing from the side, intending to use it to sweep away the ants blocking their way.

But these ants have mutated and are no longer the small ants that they could easily crush and stomp on.

They swiftly dodged the sweeping clothes, leaped onto the three people, opened their sharp mandibles, and bit down, drawing blood immediately.

The three men felt the pain and frantically tried to swat the ants that kept appearing on their bodies, but there were too many ants for them to handle. Then they felt their bodies go numb and they couldn't move.

Lin Ruo stood to the side watching and nodded. It seemed that these ants had poison in their mouthparts that could paralyze people. This was indeed a good thing.

"Don't bite me! Help!"

The woman stood there, motionless, and turned to look at the unharmed Lin Ruo. She reached out her hand, actually trying to get Lin Ruo to save her.

Lin Ruo lowered her head and chuckled softly. Humans were such ridiculous creatures; she seemed to have forgotten what they had just tried to do to her.

The woman stubbornly reached out her hand to Lin Ruo; all she wanted now was to live, and only a will to survive sustained her.

Lin Ruo remained an observer throughout, showing no intention of intervening to save them.

"Ah! Help! It hurts so much!"

"Help!"

When the woman saw that Lin Ruo was just standing there smiling and not doing anything to save them, she immediately showed hatred.

"What are you laughing at! You'll end up like us!"

"You think you can escape! I'll be waiting for you on the road..."

As the woman finally collapsed in the anthill, her eyes were filled with resentment and malice as she looked at Lin Ruo. If it weren't for this woman, they would have already taken the things and left! It's all her fault!

Lin Ruo witnessed the three people being engulfed by countless ants in an instant, and in no time, only three skeletons remained.

The ants that bit off the flesh did not eat it themselves, but carried the three skeletons, along with the bitten flesh, in one direction.

She turned her head to look in that direction, ignoring the overwhelming swarm of black ants, and walked towards it step by step.

The ants crawling towards her suddenly accelerated, and many more, in layers two and three, began to jump down recklessly, attempting to land directly on Lin Ruo.

A blue light flashed in Lin Ruo's eyes, and an ice shield instantly appeared around him. In the extreme cold of -70 degrees Celsius, the ice shield was still emitting bursts of white cold air, and the temperature around the shield dropped precipitously.

Before the ants even landed on the ice shield, they were instantly frozen into ice lumps upon contact with the cold air beside the shield, crashing onto the shield before tumbling to the ground.

Many ants jumped down, and for a moment it looked like hail, except that each falling ant had a large ant frozen inside it.

"Crackling and popping..."

The ants were countless, and they kept freezing in the ice, falling to the ground, and soon the ground was covered with ice balls.

Lin Ruo continued walking in that direction without stopping. These ants couldn't even break through her protective barrier and posed no threat to her. The more anxious they were to stop her, the more it proved that she was heading in the right direction, and the queen ant was right there!

As Lin Ruo got closer and closer to that place, the ants around him became more and more frantic, and the sound of impacts kept coming from Lin Ruo's ice shield.

"squeak!"

When Lin Ruo was about ten meters away from that place, a sharp scream finally rang out.

The vast majority of ants stopped attacking Lin Ruo and instead crawled together, slowly forming a giant hand that reached out to grab him.

Blue light flashed in Lin Ruo's eyes, and a huge water sphere appeared in front of her. Water is a magical substance with infinite inclusiveness. As long as the amount of water is large enough, everything can be swallowed up.

The water sphere in front of her continued to expand until it reached twice the size of the palm. Suddenly, it flew up and collided with the palm. There was no resistance, only envelopment, which perfectly enveloped the entire palm in water.

The ants that made up the palm instantly disintegrated in the water sphere, each one like a piece of duckweed, struggling to survive in the water.

As long as the blue light in Lin Ruo's hand remained unbroken, the enormous water sphere began to roll along the ground in the shopping mall. Ants were swallowed up wherever the sphere rolled, and like a snowball, the water sphere grew larger and larger.

Inside the water sphere, you can clearly see a dense mass of black ants. They sway back and forth with the water flow, making the originally transparent water sphere look like it has been dyed black with ink from a distance.

Lin Ruo quickly cleaned up the ants at the scene, and ants began to crawl out from all around the mall again. They then quickly gathered together, forming a huge black spear that pierced the water sphere, attempting to break it.

Lin Ruo's lips curled into a smile, and the water sphere immediately stopped. Her eyes shone brightly with blue light, and the water sphere quickly froze from the inside out. In just a few seconds, the water sphere, which was nearly seven meters in diameter, was completely frozen, releasing a chilling aura.

The black spears pierced the solid ice pucks, and like dumplings being thrown into the ground, they all turned into ice pucks and rolled to the ground.

"squeak!"

Lin Ruo's lips curled up in a smile; she could hear the exasperation in that scream.
