Lin Ruo drove out of the ancient street and it was still early. She planned to drive to find a nearby gas station, but as soon as she started the car, she noticed that there was a car following her.
Lin Ruo raised an eyebrow, her expression turning cold; she was being watched.
It seems that the commotion caused by Old Li's arrival was too great, attracting too much attention, and their transaction is not hard to guess.
These people all have underworld connections, and having them watching her makes it inconvenient for her to do anything. Their usual rule is that whoever has the strongest fist gets to listen to them. In that case, let her teach them a lesson!
Lin Ruo drove the car to the outskirts, where the landscape became increasingly desolate.
Three tall, muscular men were sitting in the car following behind. They understood immediately when they saw Lin Ruo's actions; they had been discovered.
The man in the back took a drag of his cigarette and said unconsciously, "This little wench is quite alert, but it's a pity she's not very bright. She knows we're following her, so why doesn't she drive to a more populated area? Why does she come to this godforsaken place?"
The two drivers in front suddenly felt a chill run down their spines. They exchanged a glance. Something was wrong! Something was amiss!
They quickly stopped the car and tried to turn around, but Lin Ruo's car, which was originally several hundred meters away, had somehow appeared in front of them and stopped in front of them with a beautiful drift.
Lin Ruo opened the car door and got out. Amid the surprised gazes of the three men, she walked to their driver's seat and knocked on the car window.
The man in the driver's seat snorted coldly, opened the car window, and before he could speak, Lin Ruo grabbed his collar and pulled him out with all her might. While pulling, she also gave him a hard elbow. The man felt his vision go black and almost fainted.
"Fuck you! You son of a bitch!"
The man in the passenger seat and the man in the back seat got out of the car cursing. Lin Ruo then kicked the man in the back seat in the chest with a side kick and the man in the passenger seat who got out and came around in the neck with a backflip kick.
They had no idea a woman could be so strong! The impact was so severe; the spot where they were kicked was definitely fractured!
"Big sister! Big sister! We were wrong!" The man stuck in the glass in the driver's seat kept begging for mercy.
Lin Ruo flipped her hand, pretending to take a folding knife from her pocket but actually from her spatial storage. She flicked it open, raised an eyebrow, and held it to the neck of the man in the driver's seat. Blood was drawn instantly.
He felt the knife cutting deeper and deeper, and he grew more and more frightened. "Sister! Sister! We'll never do it again!"
Lin Ruo paused, the folding knife still cutting downwards, her tone calm yet terrifying: "Whose men are they?"
The man was truly terrified. He had just sensed it; when the woman slashed his neck with the knife, her hand didn't tremble at all, as if he were a dead fish. It was clear she had taken many lives! They had been in this business for so long and hadn't taken a single life!
When did this kind of old lady appear in the underworld?!
"I... my older brother is called Scarface," the man stammered. "We really didn't mean to do anything, we were just curious..."
Lin Ruo snorted coldly and narrowed her eyes slightly. "Go back and tell your older brother that if he doesn't want someone to cut off his head in the middle of the night, he should get as far away from you as possible. If I see any of your people again, they'll all be considered to be courting death, understand?"
"We understand! We understand! Big sister! We'll never do it again!" the man hurriedly assured.
Lin Ruo released the man's collar, snapped the folding knife into her pocket, turned and got into the car. With a beautiful drift, the car sped off.
The man in the driver's seat clutched his neck, while the two men next to him stood up, clutching their own injuries.
"Fifth Brother, this woman is a bit weird! Holy crap! She's got a lot of strength!" The man who was kicked in the chest coughed violently twice; his ribs must be broken!
The man in the driver's seat glared at him fiercely, "Do you need to tell me?! Get the hell to the hospital! I'm bleeding to death!"
Without hesitation, the three drove quickly to the hospital. The doctor was astonished when he saw their injuries. The driver's knife would have cut the carotid artery if it had gone in two millimeters deeper. The man with broken ribs had ribs that would have pierced his lung if he had used just a little more force. The man who was kicked in the neck only had a fracture but no broken bones.
"This injury looks serious but isn't actually that serious. It's alright, it'll heal with rest." The doctor sighed. "You'll have to be more careful in the future, you almost died."
The three exchanged a glance, realizing that the other party had deliberately shown mercy, and that this person was not to be trifled with; with such skill, killing them would be as easy as cutting vegetables.
From that day on, the name "Plain-Clad Rakshasa" spread throughout the underworld of City A. Her photo was printed out so that thugs would know better than to mess with her, or they might easily lose their lives.
Meanwhile, Lin Ruo had no idea that she had gained such a resounding reputation in the underworld overnight. After returning to the city, she went to refuel several times, filling two gas cans in her space before driving to a famous food street nearby for dinner.
The nearby food street is quite good, with restaurants of all sizes lining both sides of the street, offering cuisines from all over China. Some shops even have their own snack stalls selling stinky tofu, hand-pulled pancakes, spicy hot pot, hot and sour noodles, and more.
As Lin Ruo walked along the food street, inhaling the rich aroma, if she hadn't actually experienced the apocalypse a month later, she would have truly believed that the world could continue to be prosperous and peaceful.
Unfortunately, such prosperity was short-lived and would soon vanish like smoke.
People kept walking around, and although it wasn't lunchtime yet, many shops already had long queues, showing how popular the business was.
Lin Ruo casually found a relatively large restaurant and joined the queue. There weren't many people in line, and it only took a few minutes for her to get to the front of the line.
She picked up the menu and ordered three dishes and a soup. She felt particularly hungry today. She had been running around all day and hadn't had a proper meal. In addition, her body had been modified by superpowers, and she desperately needed to replenish her energy.
