A transparent film of water spread across the dimly lit room, while countless mutated insects crawled around outside the film.
Lin Ruo sat on a brand-new sofa, holding several level-one crystal cores in each hand. Blue and white light emanated from her body, and her superpowers were rapidly recovering.
After more than an hour of cultivation, Lin Ruo slowly opened her eyes, a glint of light flashing in them. Her supernatural abilities and mental strength had all returned to their peak. She took out a watch from her spatial storage; it was already noon.
The three creatures in the space were still hungry. She used her spiritual power to enter the space to check on the condition of Afu and the other two. She saw that they were staying obediently in the fortress. Afu and Ashou were wagging their tails and biting toys, while Aliu had also picked up a dog ball and tossed it up with a willow branch to catch it, having a great time.
Lin Ruo chuckled. It seemed they had no intention of going to the breeding area to find food. How good they were!
She quickly prepared lunch for them, which was their favorite mutated beef.
The three of them glanced at the food that suddenly appeared in front of them and readily accepted it, knowing that it was their owner's lunch, and began to eat heartily.
After dealing with the three things in the space, she took out a meal from a home-style restaurant and ate it with hot milk from her thermos when she withdrew her mental energy from the space.
Surrounded by a massive army of insects huddled together and writhing, Lin Ruo sat calmly and peacefully eating her meal amidst the water film.
The food at these restaurants tasted especially delicious when eaten occasionally. Lin Ruo ate two boxes in a row before stopping. She picked up the thermos next to her and had just taken a sip when she heard the rumbling sound of a propeller outside.
She quickly stood up, put everything in the house into her spatial storage, and then appeared on the street in a flash, finally seeing what was happening outside.
There are insects everywhere outside now. They fly in the sky and run on the ground. They are everywhere as far as the eye can see, without end!
Lin Ruo stood there, feeling somewhat at a loss for where to put her feet.
Three heavy military trucks, completely covered in underground ore, drove over from a distance. Lin Ruo glanced at a building next to her that was already crawling with insects. With a light leap, she nimbly jumped onto the third floor of the building. Wherever she landed, the insects were frozen and instantly disappeared.
The military trucks in the distance were still operating. Countless insects had already submerged the three vehicles, but the insects' mouthparts could not bite through the underground ore, so even though they kept climbing up, they could not stop the military trucks from moving forward.
Each military truck is connected to a huge ore drilling machine at the rear. Every so often, the truck stops and the drilling machine quickly drills holes in the ground.
Countless ice crystals and stone fragments flew out, quickly penetrating the ice and the ground, from which countless insects surged forth like a moving tide.
The military truck that followed was preceded by a huge pipe made of underground ore. This pipe was then quickly inserted into the hole from before. Even with Lin Ruo's sharp eyesight, he could only see some white powder flying into the air.
Her mental energy penetrated the underground ore pipes and she discovered two booster-like objects inside, one above the other, that could easily push the white powder into the holes without letting other insects crawl into the car.
This ingenious design made Lin Ruo sigh, "Those academicians are really good at making things; even small mechanisms like this are worth learning from."
Lin Ruo probed the holes where the powder had been sprinkled with her spiritual power and found that the insects had already begun to suffer in such a short time. They started to gnaw at the ground, trying to crawl out and escape the smell of the powder. However, the powder was too potent. They first increased their crawling speed, then began to move slowly and kept rolling around.
She estimated that each hole was about 200 meters apart, meaning that the powder was only effective within a 100-meter radius.
The last heavy military truck, encased in ore, continuously sprayed white powder into the air, eventually falling to the ground. Insects flying low nearby were suffocated by the smell of the powder and kept falling from the air, tumbling and writhing.
This military truck not only spreads the pesticide on the truck itself, but also drives into various buildings and spreads it on the entire first floor.
Insects underground kept gnawing at the ice, trying to break through it and escape.
Lin Ruo couldn't help but swallow hard. Insects had already broken through the ice layer ahead, gushing outwards at high speed. Instantly, a large swarm of black insects appeared on the ground, and many flying insects even took to the air.
They thought they had gained a chance to survive once they came out, but the insects crawling on the ground came into contact with the white powder on the ice again, which was a double blow. Many insects crawled slower and slower, obviously the effects of the drug had taken hold, which shows how strong the drug was.
Transport planes armed with underground ore were constantly spraying pesticide powder from the sky. As they flew over Lin Ruo's head, a massive amount of white smoke was already falling from the sky. The insects flying in the air were hit by the pesticide before they could fly too high, and they kept falling down from the sky.
"So the B City base's all-round annihilation refers to a three-way attack from underground, above ground, and in the air. No wonder they told the survivors here to evacuate quickly. If anyone is still in this city, how can they withstand such a drug?"
"Within such a range, even if some of these insects manage to survive, they are not a cause for concern."
Lin Ruo stayed in her water membrane, so she didn't have to worry about the medicine. Watching the insects around her being poisoned until they turned white, she was quite happy. These were all free crystal cores. Once all these insects died, she would make another fortune.
The insecticide extermination operation at the B City base lasted for five hours, and most of the densely packed insect army was lying motionless on the ground.
