After saying goodbye to the supermarket couple, Fujiwara Yu and Matsuda Jinpei rushed to the famous Tokiwa Hotel in Nishitama City.
The Tokiwa Hotel was indeed unfamiliar to the two of them, but after the introduction of the supermarket couple, they learned that the Tokiwa Hotel was owned by the Tokiwa Group, which had a huge influence in Nishitama City. The president who controlled the group was a strong woman who was only in her thirties.
Arriving at the open-air parking lot in front of the Tokiwa Hotel, Matsuda Jinpei opened the car door, took off his sunglasses, and looked up at the skyscraper in front of him. He turned to look at Fujiwara Yuu and said teasingly with a smile:
"Takashi, how many years do you think we'll have to work in the Metropolitan Police Department before we can buy a floor here?"
"The price per square meter in Nishitama City is around 600,000 yen. If you want to buy this floor, you'll need at least 1 billion yen. Based on your current salary, you'd need to starve for 222 years... Congratulations."
Fujiwara Yuu's tone was full of smiles as he spoke, especially the final "congratulations," which made him unable to suppress the upward curve of his lips. After all, no one can live for more than 200 years, let alone what the world will be like in 200 years, or whether housing prices will soar with economic development.
Matsuda Jinpei rolled his eyes, wordlessly put on his sunglasses, and walked forward with his legs spread wide.
"Thank you so much, please. Could you please have a sense of humor? I was just casually expressing my feelings, and you took me so seriously and calculated it. It's really... Hey, let's go now. The investigation is more important. Don't waste your brain cells on such boring things."
"This kind of thing doesn't require much brain power; it's just a simple calculation."
"Shut up."
Fujiwara Yu raised his hand and gestured to zip up. He walked easily to keep up with Matsuda. The two of them came to the door of Tokiwa Hotel. Before the hotel doorman could speak, he directly showed his police ID.
The doorman glanced at the face of the man in sunglasses, then at the hair of the man with purple hair. He didn't know much about the police, so he took out his intercom and whispered after letting the two in:
"Hello, this is Yamada. Two suspicious individuals claiming to be police officers have entered the hotel. Security, please be advised."
Fujiwara Yu and Matsuda Jinpei were unaware that they were suspected of being suspicious persons by the doorman. They calmly walked through the revolving door and came to the hotel front desk. Before they could say anything, they heard footsteps behind them.
Matsuda Jinpei leaned over and saw several burly men in suits standing behind him and Fujiwara. He guessed what was going on, raised his hand and took off his sunglasses, staring coldly at the security team in front of him, and said in a serious tone:
"We're not suspicious. Didn't we just show our police ID to the doorman?"
The hotel receptionist sensed the atmosphere was a bit awkward, and she quickly spoke up to help explain:
"Mr. Arai, you misunderstood. They are indeed police officers."
"Watanabe, how do you know they are police officers? Do you know each other?" The man with a crew cut called Arai frowned and asked back.
Watanabe nodded and shook her head. She raised her finger and pointed at Takashi Sosuke with some embarrassment:
"No, I've seen Mr. Takashi in the news. He's a detective with the Metropolitan Police Department. He solved a major case a while ago and is quite famous in the police force."
"I see." Arai bowed to the two policemen and said apologetically, "I'm sorry to interrupt you. If there's anything we can help you with, please let me know."
Matsuda Jinpei clipped his sunglasses to his hair, smiled and waved his hand:
"It's okay. It's good that you guys are more serious about this. There are always bad guys pretending to be police officers in this society."
"Thank you for your understanding."
Fujiwara Yu took out a photo of Chie Matsuoka from his pocket and handed it to Ms. Watanabe, the hotel receptionist. After all, she was the hotel receptionist and should have a deeper impression of the customers staying in the hotel.
Watanabe at the front desk took the photo with both hands, examined it carefully, and then shook her head:
"I'm sorry, Mr. Yingsi, I don't have any impression of the girl in the photo. At least I haven't met her during the time I was on duty."
"Not even once? She has your hotel's keychain, and more than one, so she must have stayed there several times." Matsuda Jinpei asked with a frown.
Watanabe, the receptionist, stared at the photo and examined it carefully, then shook her head. She really had no impression of the girl in the photo. Her memory was not bad, and if she had really served a customer, she would still be able to remember her.
"Can you show me?"
When security guard Arai wanted to see the photo, Fujiwara Yu handed it to him. Arai looked at the photo for a few seconds and then said he had seen this girl before.
"Really? Where? When?" Matsuda Jinpei showed excitement. The progress in the case meant that he was not far from the truth. He must find those beasts and give each of them a pair of silver bracelets limited edition by the Metropolitan Police Department.
After thinking for a moment, Security Arai pointed in the direction of the elevator and recalled:
"May 1st was my girlfriend's birthday, so it left a very deep impression on me. I was getting off work that day, and I bought a cake at the hotel to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday when I ran into the girl in the photo at the elevator.
I was so down at my girlfriend's email that I didn't notice her. When I accidentally knocked her over, I quickly put the cake on the floor, hoping to free my hands to help her up and apologize. But she reacted strongly, pushing me away with great resistance. She lowered her head, saying sorry, and walked towards the hotel entrance.
