It was already three o'clock in the afternoon when they arrived at Keage Slope Canal Park. After paying the fare, Fujiwara Yu got off the car and saw Hattori Heiji parked his motorcycle on the side of the road. As for the back seat of his car, there was naturally a shrunken high school detective.
It hasn't been long since we last saw each other, but it feels like a long-awaited reunion.
Fujiwara Yuu walked forward with one hand in his pocket, raised his brows and greeted the two people:
"Hey, long time no see, are you getting darker lately, Hattori?"
"Huh? No, even if I'm out in the sun, my skin color is always the same!"
Hattori Heiji had a smile on his face after taking off his motorcycle helmet, but after hearing this, he looked at the mirror worriedly, carefully checking whether his skin color had really become darker as Brother Takashi said.
Edogawa Conan jumped out of the back seat of the car and couldn't help laughing twice. He took out the letter received by the abbot of Sannoji Temple from his arms and said:
"Brother Yingsi, this is the code I was talking about. I think the serial killer is connected to this letter. He said that if we can decipher the code, we can find the stolen Medicine Buddha."
"That's certainly possible. The Genji Hotaru thieves' group targeted Buddha statues, stealing them and selling them overseas, earning a considerable sum of money."
Fujiwara Yu took the paper from Edogawa Conan, but after seeing the pattern, he became a little confused. It looked like the work of a five or six-year-old. He narrowed his eyes at the pattern and said helplessly:
"Cicadas, tengu, goldfish, what are these things? I can't even begin to connect them together."
"Yes, so Kudo and I can only wander around places related to Yoshitsune and Benkei to see if we can find any inspiration." Hattori Heiji smiled and shrugged his shoulders, sighing, "But unfortunately, there are no clues at all. We can only treat it as sightseeing in Kyoto."
"So you called me here because you want me to accompany you sightseeing?" Fujiwara You couldn't help but frown. Instead of sightseeing, it would be better to find a place to catch up on some sleep. He originally thought that he could quickly find clues and solve the case quickly.
Hattori Heiji covered his stomach a little embarrassedly, coughed twice before speaking out the "tragic" reality:
"Ahem, Brother Yingsi, actually I accidentally forgot to bring my wallet when I came here today."
Silence reigns over Keage Slope Canal Park tonight.
Fujiwara Yuu felt that he had made a mistake, so he turned around and wanted to leave. Seeing this, Edogawa Conan hurriedly hugged Toji Sosuke's thighs. It was not known whether he did it intentionally or accidentally, but he actually shouted at the top of his voice:
"Dad, please treat me to a meal, please treat me to a meal~ I'm so hungry!"
"Kudo, what nonsense are you talking about!" Fujiwara Yuu noticed the gazes from all around and quickly pulled Conan down from his embrace. He said with a gloomy face and gritted his teeth, "If you keep talking nonsense, I'll chop you into pieces and eat you like hot pot!"
"Brother Takashi, you have such a strong taste." Edogawa Conan glared with his half-moon eyes and complained in a low voice.
Fujiwara Yuu showed the same expression, and her tone was full of disgust:
"Shut up, I don't have a son like you."
Worried that these two "shameless" kids would really do something extreme, Fujiwara Yuu didn't want to marry two black and white devils, one big and one small, at such a young age, so he honestly took out his wallet and chose to treat them to a meal to keep them quiet.
The restaurant chosen by Hattori Heiji is quite stylish. The cherry blossoms next to it are in full bloom. The moment the petals fall in the wind reminds Fujiwara Yu of the past seven years, especially the night when he learned that Matsuda Jinpei had dentures.
Thinking about the two people who are now undercover in the organization, I don’t know how they are doing now.
Alas, as I get older, I always miss the good old days.
He picked up the teacup in front of him and took a sip with self-mockery, but frowned at the bitter taste of matcha.
"Cherry blossoms."
"What?"
Fujiwara Yuu and Edogawa Conan looked up at the same time at Hattori Heiji who suddenly sighed, but after hearing what he said afterwards, both of them showed gossipy expressions.
Hattori Heiji put down his chopsticks and looked at the cherry blossoms beside him with petals falling, a look of nostalgia on his face:
"Every time I see cherry blossoms, I think of what happened eight years ago. I was going to explore a temple in Kyoto, but I accidentally bumped into the temple's lattice window, breaking the wooden lattice. My head hit the floor hard, and I fainted."
"Kudo, based on the development of the 8 o'clock show in the evening, what do you think will be the next step?" Upon hearing this, Fujiwara Yu raised his eyebrows and asked deliberately with a hint of sarcasm in his tone.
Edogawa Conan was also very cooperative. He swallowed the meat in his mouth and said with a smile:
"That must be amnesia, so what happened to you, Hattori?"
"Come on, how could this happen!" Hattori Heiji rolled his eyes speechlessly, ignoring the two people who were giggling, and continued: "When I woke up, I heard a little girl singing, and then I saw the girl who made me fall in love at first sight... Unfortunately, a gust of wind made me close my eyes, and when I opened them again, she was gone."
"I didn't expect that you have such a past, Hattori. You are the type who falls in love at first sight." Edogawa Conan looked at Hattori Heiji with a gossipy look on his face. He obviously chose to forget that he also fell in love with Ran Mouri at first sight in the nursery.
Fujiwara Yu calmly picked up a piece of beef and stuffed it into his mouth. As a member of the Love at First Sight team, he couldn't help but ask:
"A girl who vanished in a gust of wind, could it be that you fell dizzy and imagined it?"
"I originally thought it was a dream, but this thing proves it wasn't a dream."
