As a trainee police officer, Kashiwatani was at the crime scene for the first time. After determining that it was an accident, he planned to close the case. However, the father of the deceased repeatedly stated that his daughter would not die inexplicably in an accident. Finally, because of his strong interpersonal relationships, the case was successfully taken over by the Osaka Police Headquarters.
To be honest, Kashiwatani was a little resistant at first because he felt that there was no possibility of homicide in this case. So when he saw the people from the Investigation Section coming to intervene, he thought they would just make a wasted trip and waste their time.
But within just twenty minutes, simply by following Inspector Takashi, he sensed something fishy about the case. The nature of the case had even gradually changed, and even Kashiwatani had to admit that his previous assessment was completely wrong.
This was a homicide, not an accident.
Realizing that his wrong judgment almost led to a wrongful conviction, Bai Gu felt a little uncomfortable, so after he followed him upstairs, he stood at the door of the study and reflected on his mistakes.
"Bai Gu, has anyone entered this room since the incident?"
Standing at the door, Kashiwatani was taken aback. He quickly suppressed his emotions and quickly recalled his memories. But he soon realized that he couldn't be sure if anyone had been to the study. He was so embarrassed that he didn't dare to look up at Sosuke Takagi.
"Officer Ying Si, I'm sorry. At first I thought it was an accident, so..."
Fujiwara Yuu showed a look of understanding. He knew that the trainee police officer was blaming himself. In order not to dampen his enthusiasm, he chose not to blame him. Instead, he ignored the apology and asked:
"After you arrived at the scene, someone went upstairs, right?"
"Yes, except for the victim's father, the other two people went upstairs." Bai Gu nodded and replied.
Is this really the case?
Fujiwara Yu felt that he could successfully solve the case without waiting for the results from the scientific research institute. He should not have time to dispose of that thing. As long as he found it, he could confirm that he was the murderer of Yamashiro Shizuka.
He reached out and gently patted Bai Gu on the back, forcing a faint smile that he had never seen before.
"Baiya, well done. The clue you provided is very crucial."
"Huh?" Bai Gu's eyes widened. He hadn't expected to be able to help. In a good mood, he generously showed his big white teeth and said with a simple smile: "Hehe, it's my honor to help you."
"Well, keep up the good work. Next time you're on the scene, remember not to jump to conclusions so quickly. Be more patient."
"Yes! I understand!"
"One more thing. Go talk to the police officers outside and ask them to go to the restroom..."
Bai Gu was stunned when he heard the second half of the sentence. When he thought about several of his colleagues having to wear gloves to do that kind of thing, he couldn't help but feel relieved that it was not him who had to do that kind of thing.
"No problem, I will definitely ask them to clear it carefully."
"Well, if you understand, then hurry up and go. Remember to bring the suspects downstairs with you when you go upstairs. Be quick, or I'll miss get off work!"
Fujiwara Yu looked down at the time on his watch. If he could solve the case within half an hour, he could rush back in time to take notes and write a report, and he could catch up with his meeting with Morofushi Kagemitsu.
Bai Gu stood there blankly for a second before hurried downstairs. He muttered to himself: I didn't expect that Officer Ying Si also doesn't like to work overtime.
If Fujiwara knew what Kashiwadani was thinking, he would definitely say: No, you are wrong, I not only don’t like working overtime, I also don’t like going to work (laughs).
Within a few minutes, the three people downstairs arrived at the door of the study. The leader was naturally Miyazawa Masahiro, who was very concerned about the case. He looked excitedly at Takashi Sosuke, who was leaning against the desk looking over at him, and asked impatiently:
"Mr. Officer, do you know who killed my daughter?!"
"Well, the murderer is right behind you." Fujiwara Yuuko leaned against the desk with one hand in his pocket, his eyes raised with a hint of amusement. Knowing that the other party would not tell the truth, he still deliberately asked back: "Are you right, Mr. Yamashiro?"
This sentence was like a bombshell, instantly igniting Miyazawa Masahiro's anger. His face flushed red and he pointed his fingers slightly at the calm Yamashiro Shosuke. He almost couldn't breathe. He didn't expect that the person who should least have wronged his daughter was actually the murderer.
“You…you you you!”
Yamashiro Shosuke, who was wearing a white shirt, did not become flustered by the police's identification. He frowned and looked at Toji Sosuke unhappily, and his tone was inevitably mixed with anger. Yes, it was anger, not tension, fear or other emotions.
"Mr. Officer, don't you think what you said is ridiculous?"
"What's so funny?"
There was no smile on Yamashiro Shosuke's face, and the complaints in his tone gradually turned into questions:
"When the incident happened, I was in the hospital performing surgery on a patient. Do you think I have superpowers? How could I teleport from the hospital to here and push my wife down the stairs?"
It turns out that the reason he was so tough was because he had a perfect alibi.
Snap, snap, snap.
Fujiwara Yu couldn't help but raise his hand and applaud Yamashiro Shosuke. He was quite interested in this kind of stubborn murderer and wanted to know what this kind of murderer was confident about.
He has always been the type who would not say anything unless he was absolutely sure. After determining that he was the murderer, he naturally knew the guy's tricks to create an alibi.
"As expected of a surgeon, you have a strong mental fortitude." Fujiwara Yu pulled the bottle of melatonin from the evidence bag in his pocket, shrugged, and changed the subject: "It's a pity you're using this ability in the wrong place."
