Chapter 189,/.

The end of the serial dismemberment case did not bring any sense of accomplishment in solving the case. The only comfort I had was probably that I stopped the murderer's crazy behavior before he could commit another crime.

After finishing the confession, Fujiwara Yu came to the interrogation room. He found that Otaki Goro walked out of the room with a sad face. He guessed that the criminal Shibata Kento must not have cooperated well. Was he waiting for his lawyer to come?

I'm afraid no lawyer would be willing to take on a case like this. Both the physical evidence and the witness testimony are very complete, and he has no way to escape legal punishment - it seems that this madman is also afraid of facing life imprisonment?

However, in a case of such a serious nature, he probably will not be sentenced to life imprisonment. The death penalty is the most suitable trial result for him.

Fujiwara Yuu handed the can of coffee and sandwich to Otaki Goro, and also brought one for Sakata Usuke, who was working overtime with him. After noticing the expressions of the two, he raised an eyebrow and asked:

"Senior, that guy is not cooperating with the interrogation?"

"Not only is he uncooperative, but even after being arrested, he's been mumbling and singing. He won't answer any questions. There's really no way to deal with someone like him!"

Otaki Goro was so angry that he tore open the sandwich and took a vicious bite. The poor sandwich inexplicably became the target of his anger and was finished in less than three bites.

"Then you go and have a rest, senior. I will take care of the interrogation." Fujiwara Yu took the documents handed over by Otaki Goro with a smile, pushed open the door and walked into the interrogation room. He always knew how to deal with criminals who were unwilling to speak.

Otaki Goro glanced at Sosuke Toji who walked into the interrogation room, and made a gesture to Usuke Sakata, meaning that he should learn more interrogation techniques from Toji.

After entering the interrogation room, Fujiwara Yu asked the recorder to leave and then pulled out a chair and sat down. However, he never looked at Shibata Kento from beginning to end, as if he ignored the criminal in front of him and was fiddling with the ballpoint pen in his hand.

Kento Shibata, who was picking his fingernails with his head down, had been observing the police who were interrogating him out of the corner of his eye. When he saw that the purple-haired police officer who came in to arrest him was in, there was a hint of anger in his eyes. It was obvious that he hated the police who had ruined his plan.

After calming down for a while, he began to hum the song again. It was Hirose Saki's debut song, which he had always liked.

However, the purple-haired police officer sitting in front of him seemed completely uninterested. He didn't ask him any questions, didn't look at him, and wasn't even curious about what he was singing... This feeling of being ignored was unbearable for him, who had a strong sense of self-esteem.

Kento Shibata couldn't contain himself any longer, so he changed his approach and stared at the purple-haired police officer with his inverted triangle eyes, singing a song without rhythm with his mouth, but even so, he didn't get any attention.

Feeling looked down upon and ignored, he could no longer bear the quiet atmosphere. He clenched his fist and slammed the wooden board of the interrogation chair, with a vicious smile on his lips. He wanted to see the policeman's look of being frightened by him.

However, the result still disappointed him.

Fujiwara Yuu didn't even tremble, let alone show any fear. He was still fiddling with three ballpoint pens, tied at the end with thin strings. No one knew what he wanted to do - in Shibata Kento's eyes, this behavior was a provocation.

"Hey, aren't you here for an interrogation? Why aren't you asking me questions?"

After hearing Shibata Kento's question, Fujiwara Yuu's eyes flashed with a smile, because he knew that the person who spoke first had already lost half of the silent contest, and the initiative was in his own hands.

His expression was so calm that he had no expression. After carefully holding up his notebook, he still didn't give Shibata any glances.

"I'm here to interrogate you, but you're unwilling to speak, aren't you? Then why should I ask?"

This remark was particularly jarring to Shibata Kento's ears. Was he implying that he was being foolish to ask such a question even though he knew the answer? Was he treating me like an idiot because he didn't want to see me?

He really is looking down on me.

Just when Kento Shibata was about to tell about his "glorious deeds", Fujiwara Yu, who had been secretly observing his expression, suddenly asked a question, but the question made Shibata feel very strange.

"Want to play a game? Which pen do you choose?"

Shibata Kento looked at the notebook standing upright on the long table. In front of the notebook hung three ballpoint pens. He didn't understand what kind of game this was, but curiosity drove him to answer:

"The middle one."

Click.

The moment he finished speaking, the middle ballpoint pen fell directly onto the table. Seeing this, Fujiwara Yu shrugged his shoulders, pointed at the other two ballpoint pens, and asked:

"You won the first round. Which one will you choose next?"

Hearing that he had won, Shibata Kento's face showed a hint of pride. His always straight back finally relaxed. He leaned back in his chair and stared at the two ballpoint pens in thought for a while, then raised his hand and pointed at the one on the right:

"I choose the one on the right."

Snap——

I don't know if it was because the ballpoint pen was round enough or for some other reason, but it kept rolling after it fell on the table until it hit the ground and broke into two pieces.

"...Who wins here?" Shibata Kento seemed to care a lot about the outcome of the game. He asked with a frown.

Fujiwara Yuu retracted the wind power he had precisely controlled, frowning with a look of regret:

"You lose."

"Tsk, what a boring game."

Kento Shibata's face was full of disdain for the result of the game. Even if he was sitting here, he was unwilling to admit that he had lost. His self-esteem would not allow him to bow his head. As long as he did not admit his guilt, he would be able to exonerate himself when an excellent lawyer came.
