Chapter 189,/.

One forty-nine in the morning.

It was only eleven minutes to two o'clock. After Fujiwara Yuu finished the last cigarette in the car, he turned his head to look at Matsuda Jinpei who was sitting in the passenger seat. He extinguished the cigarette in his hand, a smile on his lips:

"You're still wearing sunglasses at this pitch-black hour. Who are you trying to be cool for?"

Matsuda Jinpei shrugged nonchalantly, pushed the car door open and walked out. He turned around and placed one hand on the door sill, staring at Fujiwara Yuu who was still sitting in the car with no intention of getting out.

"It's not for you to watch anyway, so hurry up and come down. Don't make those who want to see the show wait too long."

"You are quite considerate of criminals, aren't you?" Fujiwara Yu did not miss any opportunity to tease. He smiled and got out of the car and locked it. He did not forget to straighten his suit, as if he was going to dress up to attend a late-night party of a big boss.

"...Get lost."

The two walked towards the Ao Sui Hotel across the street, their smiles instantly faded, replaced by a serious expression. After all, they were in a situation where the enemy was in the dark and they were in the open. They were in a passive position and could not walk into the enemy's trap with laughter.

The exterior of the Ao Sui Hotel has been almost renovated, but the garden square in front of the hotel is still under construction, and construction vehicles such as excavators and cranes are still parked in front of the hotel.

Fujiwara Yu approached the front door of the hotel cautiously, but to his surprise... the sensing system of the electronic door was a bit sensitive. It opened in advance when he was still about two meters away, which made his cautious behavior seem a bit ridiculous.

He shrugged at Matsuda Jinpei beside him. After the two exchanged glances, he simply straightened his back and walked towards the hotel lobby. Since they were already discovered anyway, they might as well be open and aboveboard; that way they would appear more impressive.

The hotel lobby was deserted, its interior decoration still unfinished, but the lounge area and reception area could be vaguely distinguished. Fujiwara Yuu keenly noticed the twelve surveillance cameras installed in the lobby, enough to clearly capture the scene as they entered.

Matsuda Jinpei surveyed his surroundings while twisting his wrists to make noises. He was displeased with the quiet atmosphere and couldn't help but raise his voice and shout:

"Hey! Yamada Gongkei! What's the point of calling us here and hiding behind the scenes?"

Just as he finished speaking, the sound of a phone ringing was heard in the spacious space. The two had already turned their phones to silent mode, so they were sure that the sound was not coming from them.

Fujiwara Yu followed the sound and walked towards the front desk which had not yet been renovated. There was a landline phone placed on the black gold wooden table. From the brand new telephone line, it was not difficult to tell that it was installed temporarily, probably the work of Yamada Koki.

He answered the call and pressed the hands-free button. The other party's voice could not wait to appear in the empty environment:

"I didn't expect you guys to listen to me so well. You didn't bring anyone else with you. Just the two of you."

"Playing games means following the rules, right? We don't have the habit of taking shortcuts, so please, Mr. Yamada, don't play those boring little tricks. The police's time is precious. Just tell us where we want to find you."

"Hahahahaha, don't be impatient!"

Yamada Kimike was very satisfied with the cooperation between the two. He supported his hands on his knees and placed his mobile phone in hands-free mode on the small stool in front of him so that Saito Masami could hear it too.

When he arranged people to investigate Saito Masami, he found that this woman was not simple... For example, she could remain so calm even when being kidnapped. This was enough to prove that her identity was not what she seemed. At least she had seen more serious scenes than kidnapping.

Kimi Yamada grabbed a handful of caramel popcorn, but instead of putting it in his mouth, he picked up the remote control and adjusted the TV screen to surveillance mode. The upper left corner showed the surveillance footage of the hotel lobby, while the upper right corner showed the footage of the corridor on the tenth floor of the hotel.

He picked up his phone and turned to look at Saito Masami, who lowered her head and said nothing, with a hint of smile in his tone:

"Officer Takashi, Officer Matsuda, please go to the elevator on your left and press the button for the tenth floor. This is the first level of the game. If you can pass it, I'll give you information about the second level... Of course, don't try to do anything tricky. There are plenty of surveillance cameras inside the hotel that can provide me with every move you make. If you do anything out of line, I don't know what will happen to the game chips."

Threats. Outrageous and threatening words.

Fujiwara Yu suppressed his anxiety. Losing one's composure at this moment would be the worst thing to do. He exchanged glances with Matsuda Jinpei, then pretended to be angry and coldly scolded him:

"If you dare to touch them, I don't mind having the police raze this hotel to the ground."

"Hahahahaha!" Yamada Gongkei was very satisfied with Takagi Sosuke's answer. He squatted down in front of Saito Masami, tapping his phone and asked, "Did you hear that? He's worried about you... That's why I was able to catch him! Okay, now the call time is over, both players, hurry into the elevator and work hard to clear the level."

The call was hung up.

Fujiwara Yu and Matsuda Jinpei didn't say much. They hurried towards the elevator. All they could do now was to listen to Yamada Kimike and at least ensure the safety of the two hostages.

Taking the elevator on the left all the way up, Matsuda Jinpei, with his hands in his pockets, noticed that Fujiwara Yu's expression was a little uncomfortable. He frowned and looked at Fujiwara who had his eyes closed, feeling that something was strange.

Closing his eyes and resting at a time like this? That doesn't seem like Fuji's character.

Then why did he close his eyes, as if he did this every time he took the elevator.
