After searching Imamura Fujiko's house for nearly two hours, they finally got a useful clue. Just when the two were about to leave to visit the surrounding neighbors, they received a call from Otaki Goro, informing them that the body of the second victim was found on the river bank of Nakanoshima West Park.
The body parts were found in a suitcase by a young couple walking by the river. They were horrified and may have developed a strong aversion to all meat products.
Who made them curiously unzip the suitcase, only to find the victim's head staring back at them?
"Senior Otaki, has the identity of the victim been investigated clearly?" asked Fujiwara Yu.
Otaki Goro nodded subconsciously, but then he remembered that he was on the phone, so he quickly replied while flipping through his notebook:
"We've investigated thoroughly. She's a yoga instructor named Takayama Miyo, 27 years old, and unmarried."
His age was similar to the first victim, Imamura Fujiko, and he was also unmarried. Thinking of this, Fujiwara Yuu had already guessed the murderer's purpose:
"Senior, is the victim's body also missing? Is it the legs or the torso this time?"
"You guessed it all? What's missing this time is the torso. I asked the forensic department to send police dogs to search, but they couldn't find the torso. I'm afraid it was hidden by this perverted murderer." Otaki Goro felt furious when he thought about this. He had never encountered a murderer with such a strong taste in all his long career. He couldn't even bear to look at the photos of the two victims before they died. He was afraid that when he caught the murderer, he would be impulsive and would want to punch him a few times to vent his anger.
"It's not a guess, it's that we know the murderer's motive."
"Huh? What? Is it for revenge?"
Fujiwara Yu opened the door and walked to the backyard. After taking a breath of fresh air, he slowly explained:
"It's not revenge, it's to satisfy his evil desires. He might have considered himself a god, trying to create the most perfect woman. The first victim, Imamura Fujiko, was a pianist, and the second, Takayama Miyo, was a yoga instructor. Now only their heads and legs are left... The murderer must be targeting two more people. We must find him as soon as possible and stop his evil deeds."
"He wants to kill someone just for something like this? He's a lunatic!"
Otaki Goro naturally wouldn't understand the madman's thoughts. After all, he was not a madman. When he thought of the deceased's family members he would have to face later, he wanted to pull the murderer over and bite him a few times...this damn bastard.
"Otaki-senpai, please give me Takahashi Miyo's address. I think she might have been killed at home, similar to the first victim."
"Let me see... um... she lives at 1-31 Kujo-minami-cho, Nishi-ku."
"Got it. I'll hang up now."
After hearing the address, Hattori Heiji quickly climbed over the wall and ran to Takashi's motorcycle. He used the car's GPS system to navigate the route and found that it was nearby and only took twenty minutes to walk to.
A book-reading app recommended to me by a book friend of ten years, Huanyuan App! It's so damn useful! I use it to pass the time reading aloud and listening to books while driving or before bed. You can download it here.
He immediately climbed up the wall and shouted at the top of his voice:
"Brother Yingsi, the homes of these two victims are very close to each other, only about a kilometer away!"
Fujiwara Yu was stunned when he heard that. He quickly climbed over the wall and saw an old lady staring at them with a very alert expression, and her face almost said "These two guys look like human beings, could they be robbers?"
He walked forward awkwardly, but before he could even pull out his police officer ID, the old lady screamed. This scream made all the neighbors run out of the house, and the situation got a little out of control.
Because... this old lady, who is at least over 80 years old, is full of energy and imagination, so much so that she had such bizarre ideas that she screamed and shouted "molest".
Hattori Heiji stared at the old lady with wide eyes. He was a native of Osaka, but he was so angry that he couldn't say anything for a moment. He wanted to be a detective, so how could he molest someone in the street!
"What's going on? What are you two doing here stealthily?" The man holding the broom looked at the two of them coldly, and protected the old lady behind him. His eyes looked like he was looking at a pervert.
Fujiwara Yuu was afraid that his reputation would be ruined here, so he quickly took out his police ID to prove his innocence. After confirming that it was a misunderstanding, the old lady said happily:
"Hahaha, so you're the police officer! I'm so sorry, I'm a traditional old woman. With your colorful hair, I thought you were my good-for-nothing grandson!"
"It's okay. It's good that you have such a good sense of vigilance." Fujiwara Yu tried hard to force out a smile that looked uglier than crying. He really didn't expect that his hair color would cause such a strange misunderstanding.
"We must be on guard, as today's society is not peaceful. But having said that, Officer, how did you climb over the wall? Did the little girl in this family commit any crime? She's a nice person, maybe you made a mistake?" A trace of worry crossed the old lady's face. It was obvious that Fujiko Imamura left a good impression on her neighbors.
Fujiwara Yuu naturally couldn't tell the truth, so he just smiled and waved his hands:
"Well, we made a mistake. Ms. Imamura didn't do anything wrong. You don't have to worry, grandma."
"That's good. I'll go home and see if that good-for-nothing grandson has come home!"
