"What does that mean?"
"Tokui Chiyo was likely kidnapped while watching TV. If it was someone she knew, there would have been a better way, like lacing her drink with sleeping pills. However, judging by the traces at the scene, it seems more likely that the victim was taken away by the kidnapper without her noticing."
Otaki Goro was a bit confused. How could he tell based on just these two points that it wasn't someone he knew? He rubbed the back of his head. He didn't look down on the other person just because he was younger. He simply asked, humbly asking for advice:
"Takashi, these two points shouldn't completely rule out the possibility of someone she knows committing the crime, right? Chiyo is a well-behaved and introverted child, and there's no sign of the door being pried open. She couldn't possibly have invited a stranger into her home when she was alone, right?"
"What if the criminal didn't enter through the entrance? I took a look around before going in and found a flaw in the design of the flower bed in the backyard, but my guess is not valid until there is evidence to prove it." Fujiwara Yudan explained without showing any pride. He just wanted to find the missing person as soon as possible. Who knows, there might still be a chance of survival.
Seeing that Takashi Sosuke was walking out quickly, Otaki Goro did not follow him. He walked up to Tokui's parents to verify Takashi's reasoning and asked directly:
"Mr. Tokui, Ms. Tokui, I have a question for you. When you entered the crime scene, what was the status of the television? Was it on?"
"Yes, Chiyo's favorite "Sailor Moon" was still playing on TV. When I called the police, I turned it off because the volume was too loud. Is there a problem? Shouldn't I have turned it off?" Tokugawa Taeko was afraid that her actions would affect the case, and she excitedly grabbed Officer Otaki's wrist and asked back.
The TV at the crime scene was indeed on. Could it be that it was exactly as Takashi Sosuke thought? After breaking free, Otaki Goro quickly asked:
"Ms. Tokugawa, please calm down. I'm just asking a normal question. Now, I want to ask you another question. How did you turn off the TV?"
"I didn't see the remote control at the time and turned it off directly on the TV. Does this have any relevance to the case?"
After hearing that the case was exactly the same as what Sosuke Takagi had thought, Otaki Goro didn't bother to explain and immediately walked in the direction Takagi had left. As a result, as soon as he ran to the backyard, he saw someone easily climbing to the second-floor balcony.
The action was so skillful... as if this guy did it often.
