Chapter 11 A False Alarm

The three of them came to the second floor, and Shen Yanqiu led the way to last night's room. Zhu Mingchuan and Qin Rouan were shocked by her actions.

Isn't this Tingyue's childhood room? She chose a new room after graduating from junior high school because she disliked the decoration in the room as too childish. She has never been here again. Why did she sleep here yesterday?

The two looked at their "daughter" with puzzled eyes.

Chen Yanqiu didn't know how to explain to them why he chose this room yesterday. He couldn't say that he didn't know where Zhu Tingyue's room was, right?

Under the gaze of the two, Shen Yanqiu quietly defended himself: “I just suddenly wanted to live here.”

"Oh, Yueyue, you can live wherever you want, but you have to tell mom, okay? Otherwise mom will worry."

Zhu's mother's voice was still hoarse. The moment she found her daughter was missing, she was extremely panicked, fearing that something might have happened to her daughter.

It turned out that her daughter was just remembering her childhood, and her heart, which had sunk to the bottom, calmed down again.

"Yes, Yueyue, you must tell mom and dad where you are going from now on, okay? You don't know how worried we are about you. By the way, why is no one answering your phone?"

I wish dad had asked what was in his mind. If the call could have been connected, this misunderstanding would not have happened.

Chen Yanqiu took out his cell phone from the table, only to find that he didn't know when the phone was turned to silent mode. He wasn't paying attention to it yesterday.

After a whole morning of fuss, it turned out to be a misunderstanding. Dad and Mom are now completely relieved.

However, Chen Yanqiu could truly feel the good family atmosphere that Zhu Tingyue was in from their behavior.

He suddenly envied Zhu Tingyue. Her outstanding appearance and family background were really her least noteworthy advantages. The most enviable thing was her warm family atmosphere.

No wonder Zhu Tingyue has such a personality. Who wouldn’t envy her for growing up in such a happy family?

He gathered his thoughts and looked at Zhu's mother's gentle gaze. Suddenly, his nose felt sore and he didn't know why, but his heart was filled with a strange emotion.

Seeing their daughter like this, Zhu Mingchuan and Qin Rouan, even though they didn't know what happened, immediately hugged their daughter and comforted her in a low voice: "It's okay, Yueyue, mom and dad are just worried about you, there is no other intention, if you want to go out, go out, don't tell us."

It turned out that they thought that he disliked them for being too controlling. Chen Yanqiu denied it in his heart, but still reached out and hugged them.

How long had it been since he was held in such an embrace? He couldn't remember clearly, as if he had walked every section of the road by himself, without anyone to walk with him, and without anyone to rely on behind him. He had walked for a long time, and today, he felt it again in Zhu Tingyue's parents.

At this moment, he was like a thief, stealing the happiness that belonged to Zhu Tingyue. It should be okay for him to just covet this moment, right? When he and Zhu Tingyue exchanged back, this kind of warmth would no longer belong to him.

"Meow," a kitten's cry was heard.

Mother Zhu let go of her daughter, bent down and picked up a snow-white kitten from the ground, looking at it with the same loving eyes: "Little Jiuyue, do you miss your owner too? Look, she's here!"

She placed the cat in Shen Yanqiu's arms and smiled gently.

Shen Yanqiu's arms were stiff, he had never raised any pets, let alone how to hold one!

He looked at the cat again and again, but still didn't dare to move, maintaining the same posture.

Zhu's mother found something wrong and asked him quickly: "Yueyue, what's wrong? Don't you like September the most? Why don't you tease it today?"

Chen Yanqiu didn't know how to tease it at all. Why should he tease it? Isn't it enough for a cat to just walk around on the ground? If that doesn't work, it can still climb up and down!

"I don't feel like teasing it today."

Don't worry about anything else, just use this excuse as long as you don't know how to do it. He found that Zhu Tingyue's parents would never get to the bottom of it. As long as Zhu Tingyue said she didn't want to, they would immediately change their position.

Sure enough, when Zhu’s mother heard this, she reached out to take the cat away.

Unexpectedly, before she could touch it with her outstretched hand, the cat in Shen Yanqiu's arms jumped down, landed on the ground, and moved far away, meowing as it walked.

Zhu's mother was surprised: "What happened today? Jiuyue usually sticks to you and you can't take her away. You must have forgotten to feed her cat food yesterday. She holds a grudge!"

It is difficult for Chen Yanqiu to associate the word "holding a grudge" with a cat. It is just a small animal, how can it be so human?

Mother Zhu pulled Shen Yanqiu back to sit at the dining table and continued with the breakfast they had not finished, but the food on the table had been replaced with hot food.

The cat named Jiu Yue walked over but did not get close. It stood a few steps away, watching from a distance, and kept calling to Chen Yanqiu.

I wish my mother would hold it in her arms and keep stroking its soft fur to calm it down.

Chen Yanqiu suddenly felt that the cat must have sensed something. According to what Zhu's mother said, this cat was usually very attached to Zhu Tingyue. Why did it change when it came to itself today?

Not only was it no longer in my arms, but I was even a little far away from him. Could it be true that animals have psychic powers? Would I be exposed?

At this moment, he was glad that September was a cat and couldn't speak, otherwise he really wouldn't be able to pretend here for even a minute.

His eyes turned over and over on Jiuyue. Mother Zhu smiled and spoke to him, "Yueyue, do you still remember that you picked up Jiuyue at this time? Now it seems like a year has passed."

"It was so pitiful in September! It was dirty, skinny, and even its cry was barely audible. We were worried that it wouldn't live long. Look, how much it has changed in a year! Now it's full of life, like a completely different person, no, like a completely different cat."
