Chapter 7 Living Together

After hearing her say this, Zhou Zhengting finally remembered the problem of sleeping at night.

There is only one kang in the room, and the winter here is colder than in Beijing. It is impossible to survive without sleeping on it.

Right now they can only sleep half each. "Okay, you have a lot of stuff, so sleep by the kang cabinet, and I'll sleep on the other side."

"Well, I want to tie a rope in the middle and separate it with a sheet, is that okay?"

Zhou Zhengting sneered, "I couldn't ask for more."

"Then please help me hammer in a nail and I'll pull the rope."

The two of them acted as soon as they said they would, as if being even a second late would make them seem indecisive.

When the bed sheet was pulled back, the kang was immediately divided into two worlds.

Jiang Qingyue was very satisfied and smiled happily for the first time since she traveled through time. "Why don't you go get some water first? There's not even enough water in the water tank to wash the dishes."

Zhou Zhengting never liked being arranged by others since he was a child, but this time he cooperated, "Okay, I'll go pick it now."

Zhou Zhengting ran three times in a row and only stopped when the water tank was full.

After Jiang Qingyue finished washing the pots and dishes, she turned around and saw that Zhou Zhengting had disappeared again.

But since he is not at home, I can relax a bit.

Otherwise, they would just be in the same room and the two of them would just be staring at each other.

After last night's turmoil and today's busyness, Jiang Qingyue was feeling a little tired. Seeing that he was not around, she thought she could go up to the kang and take a nap.

Maybe she was too tired. When Jiang Qingyue woke up, it was already dark outside.

After waking up, I still didn't see Zhou Zhengting.

Jiang Qingyue had just gotten up and put on her clothes when she heard someone knocking on the door and thought it was him coming back.

When he opened the door, he found that it was his third brother Jiang Weidong.

"Third brother, you are here."

"Well, my mother was worried that you wouldn't have dinner, so she asked me to bring you some food as soon as possible."

Jiang Qingyue looked down and saw Jiang Weidong unloading several bags from his shoulders, including a bag of cornmeal, a bag of flour, half a bag of rice and half a bag of sweet potatoes.

Seeing that the third brother had carried so many things, his forehead was covered with sweat.

I couldn't help but feel touched, "This is too much."

Jiang Weidong grinned, revealing his white teeth, "It's okay, you can keep it and eat it slowly. When you're done, tell Third Brother."

Jiang Qingyue felt a little guilty, "No need, Third Brother, tell mother that I am borrowing this food, and I will pay it back when I earn my own food in the future."

Jiang Weidong disagreed. "What can a woman like you do? It's already winter, and it will only get colder. Don't go out and make trouble. Just get through this winter first."

"Also, don't be reluctant to heat the kang. If the educated youth doesn't want to chop wood, come and tell me."

Jiang Qingyue choked for a moment, then said, "Don't worry, Third Brother. Zhou Zhiqing has already chopped firewood and brought back water today. He will do these tasks."

Jiang Weidong looked around and saw that the water tank next to the stove was full and there was firewood under the eaves, so he felt relieved.

"Okay, I'm going back."

After Jiang Weidong left, Jiang Qingyue stared at the food that was delivered to her in a daze.

It’s unbelievable that she, a doctor of agriculture, would one day worry about food and have to rely on her mother’s family for support.

However, it was also at this moment that she fully understood the preciousness of food.

It’s not the empty meaning in the papers, but the real food and life.

Jiang Qingyue felt a little worried when she thought of the long winter here. This food was far from enough to survive until the beginning of next spring.

I have to find a way to earn money to support myself before then.

But she had just arrived and had no idea what to do, so she just wanted to find a chance to go to the county and take a look.

......

When Zhou Zhengting came back, he saw Jiang Qingyue staring at the bags of grain with her eyes lowered.

Then he coughed lightly and said, "Did your family send this?"

Jiang Qingyue heard the voice suddenly sounded, and then she came back to her senses and said, "Yeah."

Looking at the lost expression on the woman in front of him, he thought about how they had gone to the captain's house in the morning and that the food was delivered after dark.

Zhou Zhengting immediately understood what was going on.

Suddenly I had an urge to tell her that if she didn't want the food at home anymore, she didn't need to.

From now on, they will live together, he will provide the food and she will be responsible for cooking.

She eats little anyway, so she doesn't need a bite.

But on second thought, this woman might think that I have fallen in love with her, and it would be troublesome if she changed her mind and didn't want to divorce.

So, he closed his mouth tightly and resolutely gave up the idea.

Anyway, at worst I can just go to the county to buy more food later.

As long as her family is not in need, she may not go to her parents' home to ask for it.

Thinking of this, Zhou Zhengting hurriedly brought in the two pheasants he had just caught and thrown in the yard.

As expected, Jiang Qingyue's eyes lit up when she saw the pheasant, "Did you catch them all?"

The tone was full of disbelief and amazement.

Zhou Zhengting was also a little bit proud, "Well, I went to the back mountain to catch some this afternoon, let's eat this tonight."

Jiang Qingyue nodded, "How do you want to eat?"

Zhou Zhengting thought about it and realized that the local people liked to stew pheasant with mushrooms. He had eaten it twice and thought it was pretty good.

So he directly suggested, "Chicken stewed with mushrooms, can you cook it?"

Jiang Qingyue laughed dryly and said, "Yes, but there are no mushrooms at home."

"That's right, let's go up the mountain and find some mushrooms tomorrow."

"It's snowing now. Will there still be mushrooms on the mountain?"

Zhou Zhengting was stunned, as if he was the local. "Of course, the winter mushrooms here are the most famous and are the best for stewing chicken."

Jiang Qingyue was a little embarrassed. "I've rarely been to the mountains before. Let's go together tomorrow. How about making some chicken soup and some hand-rolled noodles today?"

"Okay, just do as you see fit."

Since coming here, Jiang Qingyue automatically activated her ability to live a good life. Thinking that it wouldn't take much to make the soup, she decided to just chop it in half.

But the man who was stoking the fire saw it and disagreed, "Cook the whole one, the other one will be enough for stewing tomorrow."

Jiang Qingyue's hands froze, and she threw the remaining half into the pot with heartache.

While the chicken soup was cooking, Jiang Qingyue started to knead the dough and roll out the noodles.

When the chicken noodle soup was ready, Jiang Qingyue instinctively served him two chicken legs.

The main thing is that he shot the pheasant by himself, and he was just lucky enough to get some chicken soup.

But Zhou Zhengting discovered something was wrong as soon as he stirred it with his chopsticks.

Seeing the surprise on his face, Jiang Qingyue explained, "You shot the pheasant, so eat more."

The man sneered, "You don't have to do this. You cooked the meal, there's no reason for you to give me all the good meat."

After saying that, Zhou Zhengting directly picked up a chicken leg with the chopsticks he had never used before and put it into her bowl.

Jiang Qingyue was very puzzled. How could this man suddenly change his attitude in just half a day?
