Chapter 3 Red Wedding Dress, Another Wedding Night

The male ghost picked me up without saying a word and turned back to his bedroom.

"Let me go!" I slapped his arms hard, but I couldn't shake him at all. He put me into the bed, and we, a ghost, shared the same red quilt.

And I was still held tightly in his arms.

"Madam, don't move, go to sleep..." He whispered softly, and his cold lips touched my earlobe.

"I don't want to sleep with you!"

He ignored my struggles and covered my eyes with his hands, as if casting some kind of spell, causing me to fall into a deep sleep...

I had a dream about my past life, and it was extremely clear.

In my previous life, I was the daughter of a merchant, and he was a hunted prince. On the day I was looking for a son-in-law, he disguised his identity and sneaked in.

There was no problem with the identity and household registration he provided, so he hid in my house to recuperate. Love between us gradually grew, but he brought disaster upon my family. The secret guards saved him and me, but the rest of the people, young and old, died in the fire.

I hate him.

My family treated him well, but he concealed the danger and acted under the cover of my family's son-in-law, causing great harm to my entire family.

This man lost his mother at a young age, and fell from being the queen's son who was the center of attention to being the son of a deposed queen whose mother's family had lost power and was unpopular. When he was a little older, his sister who depended on him for survival died of illness. He then endured hardships and developed an extreme personality, a ruthless heart, and extremely cruel methods.

If he had won the throne, he would have been a tyrant and a bloodbath in the court.

I took the dagger handed to me, agreed to his proposal, and hid the weapon that would kill him in my phoenix crown and bridal gown.

He watched me thrust the dagger into his chest, the barbs on the handle digging into my flesh, the poison spreading through both of our blood...

Everything is over.

I woke up with a headache with tears in my eyes.

Yan Yuheng was sitting upright on the edge of the bed, looking like a lifeless paper man with his back to me.

He came back to life when he heard me move, showing a concerned smile and stroking my hair: "Madam, you are finally awake."

"Yan Yuheng..." I called his name, and the sadness in my heart slowly dissipated, leaving me with only a little sigh.

In his expectant eyes, I ruthlessly shattered his hopes: "I dreamt about my past life, but that was only a past life. You killed my parents in my past life, and I killed you and lost my own life. We are even now."

"No!" Yan Yuheng's eyes instantly turned red, and his hands gripped my shoulders tightly like iron claws. He yelled like a madman, "What do you mean by even? It's not even! I've been waiting for you and thinking about you all these years. I want revenge on you for listening to other people's slander and killing your beloved husband! We could have sat on the high throne together. I gave you the highest status and favor in the world, just for the two of us!"

He shed tears of blood, but was stunned for a moment. He then pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly, not wanting me to see his crazy look.

The ghost kept repeating in a shrill voice:

"I clearly love you so much, and you're the last person in the world who loves me. Why, why do you just say forget it? I'm going to retaliate against the culprit who sent someone to kill your parents, and kill everyone involved! I'm going to send them to hell to make amends for your parents and family.

Why! You still believe others and would rather let others be the emperor than be with me! "

"Yan Yuheng!" I slammed my head against his, enduring the pain and shouting to interrupt his madness, "Because you are simply not fit to be an emperor with the world in mind! You can't be a wise ruler! Your heart is too small to accommodate these millions of people!"

"No! No!" The male ghost seemed to have suffered a huge blow. He hugged me tightly and buried his head in my arms and cried, "I have you, I have you! As long as you love the people of this world, I will be a good emperor. I will listen to you and I can be your sword! As long as you don't abandon me!"

"You're crazy!"

"No, I'm not crazy. If I were to go crazy, it would be because I miss you so much! It's been three hundred years, and you've finally found me! I'd rather you hate me than abandon me and completely forget me!"

He pounced on me like a mad dog and rubbed against me randomly, as if this could make up for the hugs he had missed for more than three hundred years.

I couldn't push him away, and he let go of me like a madman, ran to the side, picked up the wedding dress that he had carefully prepared for me in his previous life, and tried to force me to wear it.

"Madam, please put it on! Put it on! Stay here with me forever, don't leave!" He held the gorgeous wedding dress in front of me, tempting me with expectant eyes.

"I won't wear it!" The bridal chamber was still decorated as it was for the wedding. Following the memory in my dream, I touched the dragon and phoenix scissors and fiercely cut the red wedding dress.

Seeing his heartbroken eyes, I made up my mind and stabbed at his throat - I couldn't let him keep me here anymore, my parents are still waiting for me, and my graduation thesis is still waiting to be confirmed!

The scissors flashed a hazy golden light in the dim light, cut his throat, but disappeared the next moment.

Yan Yuheng still stood there, tears streaming down his face, stunned. As his throat healed at a visible speed, he asked me in a hoarse voice, "You still want to kill me, right? Madam, you want to kill me again."

I stepped back in fear, yelling at him and trying to cheer myself up: "Because my family is more important, and my future is important too! Why should I give up everything I have and be trapped in this dark little room with you?"

"What about me?" he asked coldly.

"What?"

"In your heart... am I worthless?" The evil spirit's cold air attacked me again, freezing my limbs. He suddenly leaned in and whispered in my ear, "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if you think I'm unimportant. You just forgot about me. Our wedding ceremony isn't over yet. When it's over... you'll be my wife again..."

A cool air clung to my limbs, and when I realized something was wrong, the red wedding dress was already on my body. He pressed me to sit on the edge of the bed, and he gently placed the red veil on my head, and lifted it up again after a while.

It was already night, and the wedding candles lit up the magnificent bridal chamber. The candlelight danced in his eyes, and he seemed to have once again immersed himself in the last beautiful memories of his life.

The ghost skillfully and gracefully poured the wine into the wedding cups and slowly walked towards me. In my previous life, I had stabbed him in the chest at this very moment.

But now, I can no longer kill him.

Yan Yuheng forced me to drink the wedding wine with him. The cold wine stung my throat and it felt like an invisible and intangible fire was burning in my stomach, boiling in every part of my body.

I seemed to have become the me of my previous life, but just as he expected, we spent our wedding night together.
